“I checked this place out for the first time because I'm planning to buy something different for a superbowl party. I got one chicken soft taco. Seemingly so simple, yet easy to mess up, and sublime if done right. Okay, the filling was top notch and fabulous; an ample portion of very savory shredded chicken in a red sauce with sauteed onions and cilantro. The double street tortillas that were wrapped around it tasted like they were used right out of the package - raw, cold, dry, brittle and starchy. Soft corn tortillas need to be "cooked/warmed" in a little oil, or on a flat top, in an oven or microwave, and these were not, or not nearly sufficiently. Out of the two little containers of salsa that came with it - the red salsa was very good, but the green salsa container was "pooched" ( the lid was swollen upward) so that when I opened it, it popped or exploded - not a good sign, so I threw that oneout. Since I was in the restaurant business for thirty years in Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, and Atlanta, maybe like Gordon Ramsey, I can tell by one dish if the menu is a good one - in this case I can tell by one dish that the recipies are excellent, but the attention to detail needs to be improved to carry them out. If anyone wants to know the standard to aspire to in these parts, visit Mi Burrito on Lombard in North Portland; that hole in the wall is absolutely amazing! El Taco Express has some very serious good potential but needs a little tweaking in my estimation.“

“Incredible food! I live close so I am here at least once a week recently. Food is amazing- I highly recommend the Chicken Verde Torta. The margaritas are also really good, and they offer really good non-alcoholic drinks as well. Good service and everyone is very nice and helpful. Great place for anyone.“

“The food from here was delicious + came out very quick! The man making the food here was super sweet to my friends and I. He gave us something a little extra when he realized it was our friend’s birthday and we really enjoyed practicing our Spanish with him. “I said Mucho Gusto and hasta pronto when leaving the Mucho Gusto Kitchen today in Eugene.Like subway, it's 'build your plate of fresh ingredients as you go', this time, with a staff that is upbeat and having fun as you order. The great energy can be felt all through the process: while they make your food and ring you up, sitting and enjoying the tasty food, and even peering at other's dishes to see what custom tacos they created!I got a burrito and loaded it with cheese, jalapeños, fresh cilantro and mango sala - it did not disappoint! When leaving a tip, the cashier rang a small bell and the staff cheered and said,'Thank you!' all way back to the kitchen. The vibe is solid, the food is tasty and there was no waiting in line. It may not be the cheapest for mexican, however, I could see you coming here and building new combinations and finding some favorites. All together worth a stop as you make your way through the state.“

“I have frequented this store multiple times this fall as we have ordered burritos to have for our guests before football games. The staff has been wonderful each time with any special requests. The burritos, whether the breakfast variety, or regular have always been delicious. They include plenty of hot sauce and have them ready at the time I’ve asked. All in all a great experience from a quality establishment.“

“As I walked in I felt different… it’s was cozy and energetic. Very low key. The food was super authentic and I just wanted a breakfast burrito lol. It was my first time having one with beans in it and I didn’t know I was missing out for so long ? needless to say the portions were spot on and evenly distributed. I eat light sometimes so I finished it later as it was prolly over a pound.. definitely coming back. I actually had a veteran come sit with me and it was a delight to listen to him.“

“We were a party of six on a Friday night and needed to eat in a hurry in order to get to a child's baseball game on time. The restaurant was busy, but they were able to seat us quickly. Within a minute, we had hot chips with salsa on the table. We had just the right amount of time to peruse the menu when our waitress showed up. She understood our situation and took both our drink orders and food orders at the same time. Our delicious meal arrived promptly, and everyone enjoyed the food. My granddaughter had never ordered fajitas before and the look on her face when she heard and saw that huge sizzling platter was priceless. We were on our way and arrived to our game on time. Thank you for your great service and food.“

“For a white dude like me, this is a cultural experience. Good selection of hot sauces and spices to look at in the market while you wait for your food. Food was delicious. Helps if you can speak a little bit of Spanish, depending on who's working. My Duolingo Spanish was good enough to make it happen though :-) Super nice people.“

“the pics of this business are kind of misleading. they don't have a restaurant anymore. i don't know when they used to have one but it's probably been a few years. however that said i picked up a bag of their fresh tortillas and some fire roasted salsa. it made for a great saturday afternoon bbq along with the meats and veggies i had grilling up. the smell of the tortillas as they cooked on the grill was fantastico. the salsa was good too. they close at 4:30 so make sure and get there earlier enough. i got there at 4:30 not knowing and the owners gladly stayed open a couple of minutes longer to grab a bag of fresh tortillas and some salsa. very nice people for sure. so worth stopping by and grabbing some! buen provecho“

“This food truck is run by Ofelia and her son Tomas, and they serve their community.I had a quesadilla de chorizo with extra meat, and it was hearty, and the corn tortilla tasted home-madOfeliamakes her salsa verde from scratch, which tells me how much she cares about the quality of her food. But these guys get five stars for a reason, and to explain, let me share a small part of the conversation I had with them while I waited for my food:Me: “Do you guys sell all over, or…?”Tomás: “We come to Oakridge for festivals, and to serve the Mountain Bikers’ events on weekends but mostly we sell in Pleasant Hill, usually at the Feed Store.”( At this point, they serve my quesadilla with extra meat and it is only $8! )Me: “This feels like a bargain. I could expect to pay $12 or $13 for this in Eugene.”Tomás: We recognize that these are hard times for everybody with rising prices, and with everything going on, and we want to make sure that our food is available to everyone — even people that are struggling. We are not greedy. We are part of the community.”Ofelia: “I spend a lot of time serving the young people at Pleasant Hill High School. Those boys are good to me, and I am good to them. I almost thonk of them as my other sons. We all have to take care of each other.”Also, this business sells very attractive pot holders made by a disabled woman in the community. They are re-purposed from jeans pockets and very cute! All proceeds are donated back to the creator. Please consider supporting this family business. Your purchase doesn’t just buy good food, it spreads love.“
