The coffee is fantastic. The croissant taste buttery and delicious. And the most important thing that they don’t just serve you; but the actually talk to you, ask and start small conversations. This is so important in a business that you leave a mark. Thanks for a coffee well done and for being so friendly.I highly recommend it.

Okay, after 30 hours of layovers and luggage snafus...we've arrived to PDX...and amongst the construction, there's this FANTASTIC place, Elephant's. Warm and hearty comfort food and coffee (I highly recommend the Sausage frittata). The staff is super friendly and personable...And it really counts when you've had rough travel. Thanks Elephant's for bringing us back to life with your yumminess!

I GOT FOOD POISONING FROM THIS PLACE! I had a very unpleasant experience with this establishment. Yesterday 08/13, I ordered the mac and cheese dish and observed that it appeared to have been left out for an extended period. The noodles were excessively dry and hard, the bread crumble lacked its usual crunch, and there was very little amount of cheese sauce. The meal was so horrible that I couldn't finish it, and the small portion I consumed made me terribly sick. Roughly ten minutes after consuming it, I began to experience stomach discomfort. This discomfort persisted through the night, leading to a restless sleep and a full day of feeling unwell, which also affected my work performance. Due to this situation, I was not able to eat anything today and just have been feeling miserable the entire day.In addition, a lot of the tables across the long bench were dirty and the staff didn’t seem to mind that at all. I do not recommend this establishment and strongly advise against visiting it. I’d give zero stars if I couldUpdate: on Wednesday night (8/16) I started to feel really really sick, with an extreme stomach pain and non stop vomiting. I had to visit the emergency room as the pain was unbearable.

Why even bother having a food shop if you're going to do it half a$$.Every single table right now is dirty. The trash is over flowing, and there are two employees standing around, gossiping about another employee and loudly discussing their politics, instead of cleaning. The man in the conversation just wiped his nose, 3 separate times, with his hand and then went right to touching the cash register, then the expresso machine and then back to the counter. The girl with the shaved head has on enough green eye makeup to star in a marvel movie and has such a thick mask on her face that you can’t hear a word she’s saying, and then she seems annoyed that she is not heard.I ordered the chicken teriyaki with rice - over half the rice is rock hard and dried out - who knows how long this food has been sitting here. The chicken is borderline recognizable and rubbery. What a shame and a disappointment as it’s a good location when you’re stuck waiting..

Came to PDX to pick up family. Under construction, but Flying Elephants is open. Got a coffee, but they gave us free house coffees because of inconvenience of construction. Tasted good. They rock.

This comment is all about the ridiculous tipping options that confront you when paying. I’m fine with paying a dollar for someone who just tallies the purchase of a prepared item. But the greedy owners only present tip options starting at 18%. And as always with Square you have no idea if the tips actually go to the workers or are kept by the owners.

My friend and I stopped in for a quick bite to eat after they landed at PDX, our food was ready quickly, the staff was friendly and prices we're reasonable for being at an airport. It is located next to the exit point by the C gates glass doors and southside ticket counters. They also offer a variety of grab and go snacks too.

Mac and cheese was okay — coffee is great though! Next time I’ll try the veggie sausage sandwich or lentil soup. Nice and friendly staff and great seating area.

Good grilled cheese and Orange Tomatoe soup was great.

This café is tucked away at the south end of the main level of the terminal, and as such, a lot of visitors to PDX are not likely to see it. It's one of the few dining options available to a traveler or visitor before the security gate. Most of what they offer, depending on time of day, are grab-and-go items, but Elephants' food quality has always been a cut above most other places, even when it's not prepared immediately before consumption. Hot soup, sandwiches, coffee, cookies, and various entreés are available during their operating hours, which are 5am to 7:30pm daily, barring special occasions. They're good in a pinch, good in a rush, and good even when you have plenty of time to spare, lounging about, waiting for your flight.
