Just moved to the neighborhood a few months ago and found this gem across the street. Didn't expect to feel so welcome at a bar where the walls have elk heads mounted along with old shotguns above the urinal. Never judge a book by it's cover. Try the chowder on Fridays and the collards on any day!
Nice neighborhood corner bar... A bit divey, but it's genuinely so, not at all pretentious. Reasonable prices with all the basics well covered. It happens to be walkable for me and therefore I will probably visit again soon. Seemed to be inhabited mostly by regulars. Not crowded, but a good number of people on a Saturday night enjoying karaoke. I didn't even look at the food menu so can't comment there. Enjoyed machine pool table at just 50¢ per game.
