Wonderful service Excellent food.
My friends and I were in Salem for a show and I had looked up where we would be going for dinner prior to leaving. This place sounded perfect! It wasn’t too late and they weren’t very busy. Basil & Board offers an outstanding dining experience with amazingly flavorful food and great management. The restaurant provides excellent vegan and gluten-free options, including the delicious "vegan bought the farm pizza" and the outstanding farmhouse salad with lemon vinaigrette. The staff is friendly and attentive, even catering to large groups on the rooftop. The pizza crust is described as crispy, yet fluffy, thin and a perfect combination of chewy, airy and crispiness. The menu options are plenty, with appetizers, salads, sandwiches, pizza and dessert, and they seem to have a really great happy hour. While some felt the prices were a little high and the topping flavors could have been enhanced or spread out more evenly, the overall quality of the food and the welcoming environment make Basil & Board a highly recommended destination for both dietary-conscious and general diners. It is a great place to hang with friends and eat pizza.
