“Petite Provence is an enjoyable experience for my aged mother and I am very grateful to be able to bring my little dog to the enclosed front section. However, I am disappointed that my favorite dish for years and years was just taken off the menu: the shakshouka (squash and eggs). It was the only savory vegetarian option and I miss it!! Other options "hold the meat" are just not that good. Vegetarian eating is on the ascendant and deserves to be taken seriously by any restaurant! BTW: I find the Conundrum white wine super light and delicious.”

“I was late picking up my pizzas and they had to throw them out. They offered to make me news ones and did so with the best attitudes.
I felt terrible for being late and offered to just skip it but they insisted and remade them. They were extremely friendly and it was an excellent experience.”

“We had the most amazing meal tonight, great food and perfect service. The staff checked in with us frequently to make sure we were happy, my steak was perfectly done, the accompanying wine was yummy and we had the complimentary ice cream for dessert but also brought home creme brulee and carrot cake to enjoy at home later. Could not have had a better dinner and dining experience. Love this place!”

“Enjoyed everything about our dinner and drinks here! The ambience was great, especially love the giant gears and beautiful blown glasses. Service and staff were all great. Met the owner and some locals who were very friendly. We didn't participate in friday night karaoke, but it was fun to hear people singing in the back room. The beer cheese bacon burger was so delicious. So were the beer, cider, and tap rootbeer. No complaints. If I lived closer, I would definitely be part of their mug club.

Kid-friendliness: Brought my 4 year old for dinner. They allow kids until a certain hour... 9 or 10pm, I believe. Kids just can't cross the white line on the floor into the bar area. They had a cool bar height highchair she used. Bottled juice and rootbeer on tap for my older child. There wasn't a kid menu. We ordered my toddler a "kids size" mac n cheese, but the beer cheese sauce was not her favorite flavor. Next time, we will just get her the Alfredo pasta instead of the yellow cheese she insisted she wanted.”

“We stopped in Ixtapa Mexican Restaurant after the end of a 5 day Salmon fishing trip. We are unconfirmed food ‘snobbies’ and typically stay in our campground and cook our own meals. We are fishing for some of the best tasting Salmon you will ever eat for a reason - we love food! So my review of this restaurant will come from someone who loves food, (who doesn’t right)! I ordered a chicken enchilada en mole sauce and a chili relleno. Both outstanding and came with beans and rice. The chili relleno was perfectly cooked and had just the amount of egg battered coating and seasoning. Melt in your mouth flavor and texture! The chicken enchilada en mole sauce was phenomenal! It’s hard to make a good mole sauce that has a good mix of sweet, sense of (but not over-powerful chocolate flavor), heat and smokey flavor and they nailed it! My family had a variety of other dishes and all said their dishes were equally as great. The service we received was also on point! If you are in the Dalles or just driving through and need a place for lunch or dinner, I would highly recommend checking out the Ixtapa Restaurant!

“We came in tonight for the first time at any BV location on our way back to Eugene and it was so good! They were having a fundraising event and there were like a million tiny children everywhere and even with the complete chaos of all those kids the staff were extremely nice and recommended their favorite items. The food was really good and made us search for the closest location to Eugene as soon as we got done eating. We will definitely be making the drive to Albany soon to eat here again.”

“My husband & I decided to give the restaurant a try after being away for many years. Everything, I mean everything, was perfect! The wait staff was very attentive without being smothering and the portion sizes were VERY ample. We definitely will be coming back. The remodeling of the hotel and restaurant is very elegant - great job!!”
