“Quick pit stop, but ordered the following: - Irish stout 16oz - Blueberry inferno 8oz - Bourbonic biscochito 8oz - Foccacia w ricotta We really enjoyed the stout! Some of the best stout we've had - not very high in ABV, but very tasty. Unfortunately, they only have growlers of this when we asked if they had cans. Blueberry inferno was indeed quite spicy. Def try a sample before committing to a whole glass. Personally, wouldn't get this as a solo drink, unless you're into a spicy, alcohol drink. However, it was worth trying and we split amongst the table. Bourbonic had notes of bourbon, not bad, but nothing too crazy either. Foccacia w ricotta was a perfect snack to line our tummies. Big enough to split between 2 people.“
“Thank you Ann for a fabulous experience for the 2024 Westland high school baseball auction. You went above and beyond to accommodate our large group and the food was amazing. We look forward to holding our next event with you soon. I highly recommend anyone looking for an event space to, go see, and she will definitely take care of you.Dietary restrictions: Handmade an amazing vegan dish for our event.“
“My favorite beer has come to Portland! The new taproom said dog friendly on the site but know that means patio. They still made it as nice as possible for us by building a fire and bringing water out for our pup. Great service, nice people, and delicious beer.“
“I got the Paloma, Forager pizza, and the artichoke dip.10/10. Don’t sleep on this spot!Hands down the best artichoke dip. Creamy, full of veggies, and so tasty.Pizza was awesome. I personally love Detroit style pizza but I’ve never had one with an oil instead of sauce on top. SOO good! The crust has a crunchy outside throughout which is sometimes not the case at other establishments.Paloma was top notch. Loved our first visit, can’t wait to come back.“
“Great hole in the wall place. Surprised they weren’t busy.Really great space with indoor and outdoor seating. The beer is delicious. The food was even better. 9/10 on the food. All in all a great little place that should be enjoyed and should be busier than it was for a Saturday afternoon.“
“The food is expensive. The basic burger is very basic -- just meat, cheese, bread, and sauce -- for $16. Visited for Sandwich Week 2024 and their pulled pork was fantastic. The beers are usually solid contenders with other local Portland beers.“
“Showed up late in the evening again, barely making last call. It was empty but had a good conversation with the only other customer and staff. Only had the Japanese lager in keeping with my final last days in Portland, no more hopps for awhile. They also had an MKIII in the corner I didn't get a chance to feed. Worth a trip if in the area“
“Our favorite Portland area brew pub. Just has a great combination of a cool relaxing atmosphere, frequent live music, interesting menu, big windows and patio for people watching … great staff too. It’s a real community get together. Staff are real nice folks.“
“Okay, Breakside Brewery is fine, nice indoor area and lot's of outdoor ambiance, staff was friendly and the margarita was good - but that's not the point. The best thing about Breakside is that it's the newest location for Tito's Taquitos, and THAT is something to celebrate! If you want the prettiest food on a plate that also is delicious and (relatively) healthy, you want Tito's. Their owners and employees are all the nicest people EVER, the food is ridiculously fresh and gorgeous, and it is SO GOOD. Great vegetarian options, I love love love their carnitas mushrooms! It's like eating a work of art, and even though it's deep-fried, there's so much fresh raw garnish and salsa and healthy toppings so it barely feels like a fried meal. Hubby always gets the fried fish tacos, and he also loves the shrimp tacos. We tried their new potato appetizer/nacho thing and it was really good, but the taquitos are still the best thing to get. Seriously, if you haven't tried Tito's, you must. This new location at Breakside is way closer to my work and easier to get to, which makes me very happy!“
“Highly would recommend. That sums up the experience. The owner behind the counter is a gentleman. He knew his taps like the back of his hand. He was of the upmost polite despite my "ignorance". This place is welcoming. Now the taste of the beer on tap, #10 was good for a wheat beer. There are many options here for all enthusiast or people looking for whatever their pallet is keen to.“
“I don't go to this place often, but I do like it. And it's a great place to have a celebration as you can rent part of the bar. Food is a bit expensive. Stay away from the $12 salad. Beer prices and selection are reasonable. I would go back again.“
“We stopped here randomly on a beautiful Friday afternoon. The loaded Brussel sprouts are outstanding, the perfect blend of crispy and savory. We ordered The Butcher pizza and added mushrooms. The pizza and sauce was out of this world. We opted for the Black Walnut Old Fashion for our drink. I would highly recommend.Service was great and the patio was a great place to enjoy a meal.“
“Delicious meal of the day. It was some kind of fish which I truly enjoyed. I have a well traveled palette so I asked for some extra garlic butter and lemons to add to my fish just in case. But I was pleasantly surprised at how perfectly seasoned the dish was. Well done Backwoods! I have attached before and after pics of my plate to show how much I enjoyed the meal. However, I was disturbed by how liberally the staff sprayed the table adjacent to us with a Peroxide solution, and then wiped it down with a cloth. This happened just after our meals were served. It happened again while we had our drinks after the second group left the same table. I worry that the spray's microparticules will travel to meals and drinks nearby and as a result we are subconsciously ingesting a cleaning agent!! I suggest that you spray the solution on a cloth away from food and drink, and then just wipe the table with the cloth. I would otherwise have given Backwoods 5 stars....“
“Barleycorn," of course, refers to the barley used in malt liquor. And aren't we glad it does? Inside John Barleycorns, you'll find a nice, dark, cozy space — topped by a dramatic cathedral ceiling — and McMenamins-strength ales and spirits. Outside, the terrace is surrounded by a garden.Stop by with family and friends for a pint or two, handcrafted in-house.Happy Happy Hour 2-5 everyday“
“Cool little warehouse location with his staff that is super friendly and helpful. Street parking is available. There's a fire pit outside which is cool.We came for some food after checking out Hopscotch. I ordered up the chicken sandwich which came with fries. My friend had the BLTA with fries. Both orders came out quickly, and the fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Yum! My chicken sandwich came on a nice soft bun with garlic aïoli, bacon, tomato, onion and was absolutely delicious. Love the high ceilings in the warehouse feel. Lots of space and there's games to play if you like. Keep up the good work we'll be back!“
“4 stars for the beer. Family member said beer was pretty dang good and it’s impressive what they’ve done and how they’re 100% gluten free. Although I wish it was clear on their website that this is a “limited service restaurant” (I.e. order from your phone at the table and very limited contact with staff other than them bringing your food to you). I understand if they do not have the means to be a full-service restaurant but just wish it was clearly stated on their website. A Gastropub is supposed to be a full-service restaurant. As someone with celiac disease, I rarely get to go out to dinner and was looking forward to eating at a full service restaurant (not a 5 star fancy place necessarily but at least just given the service that usually comes with food priced as high as it is) We drove from Vancouver, Wa and were a little bummed. Beer was great though ?“
“Joanna was a great hostess and the food was excellent! ~ 35 minute wait for 6 at prime time on a Saturday didn’t feel bad. Convenient parking… good selection of gluten free options too.Dietary restrictions: Good variety of GF and Vegan optionsParking: Convenient parking garage across the street.Kid-friendliness: Kids welcome!“
“A favorite spot in Portland! Delicious beer selection, with flights available. Cans to-go and the can art is one-of-a-kind. Having Cache Cache in the back and all the amazing food carts right outside at Lil America is so great. You can take any of the food into the bar or any of the drinks out to the patio area. Plus, dog friendly! They're always having fun events like pop-ups, themed drinks, and big parties outside. Staff is amazing and so friendly too.“
“A great local taproom with a wonderful taplist featuring local and other brews. As a fan of pilsners, their Ordnance Pilsner was exceptional! The staff couldn't have been more friendly or knowledgeable about what they serve. We will definitely be back soon!“
“We went for Drag Bingo and were blown away by how well the staff handled the packed crowd. Despite only one person working the front and one in the back, they were incredibly efficient. While there was a line to order, food came out surprisingly fast, and everyone remained friendly and attentive. However, it was clear the staff was stretched thin. Management needs to do better by scheduling enough employees for special events like this. Hiring additional staff, offering flexible hours, and showing appreciation for their hard work would go a long way.“
“The three bar backs Jonathan, Kevin and Savanah killed it both Monday and Tuesday night I came for food and brews. The brewery was super busy but never felt unattended. Highly recommend this place. If I’m back in the Portland area I will be back.“
“Another cozy and unique theater! This building is artwork. Everywhere you look there's something that catches the eye. There's a restaurant attached to it as well so you can get food delivered to you while you watch the movie if you didn't grab any before hand. If you do this option you'll have to sit up stairs. It's fun though especially if you get the seats right at the edge. P.S. there is a restroom on this floor, if you are looking at the screen its on the right hand side.I love their popcorn, pretzels w/ cheese sauce and a pitcher of cider. They usually have three options to choose from.Every time I go, people are pleasant and it's a joy to talk to them.Side note: If you haven't been to McMenamins locations before all the ones I've been to are so much fun. So much detail goes into their spaces and it's always an adventure.I can't wait till next time.Cheers ?“
“Really tasty pizza! I had the vegetarian with blue cheese, apple and hazelnut, and it was so so good. Took it over to Proper Pint next door to watch the Timbers game. Highly recommend ?Vegetarian options: Vegan optionsDietary restrictions: Vegan options“
“It was pretty good, had this apple pie cider with the season being here and all. Nice ambiance, we sat outside by the fire table and were comfortable. Had these brussel sprouts and the tomato soup for a quick bite. Only reason I didn't give 5 star is because the staff was very monotone and not very welcoming when ordering but we got through it.“
“We had a group gathering here and it was great. The food was good and the alcohol fresh brews were really delicious. It was loud with three other gatherings going on inside in the main room, but that is to be expected! Parking was not super difficult and they do have an ada accessible entrance.I will be back!“
“My family and I have been going here for 7 years now and feel the same as day one. The crew has always been friendly and the food is great. Never come home with left overs haha. Great beer selection I recommend the piney. Keep this place alive support Ancestry Brewing!“
