“I was looking for a place that was open and offered good food along with soup. I decided that Uptown Cafe was my best choice and stopped in as a single diner yesterday around 7 PM. I appreciated that they are open until 9 PM as most places around here close at 8 PM and I don't like going to eat at a location that I know is closing up soon. There were a few tables occupied and one server. I looked at their specials which included a creamy mushroom soup! After a short time he came over to seat me and was very affable.I was seated at a nice window seat and decided upon the mushroom soup and their special pot roast. The server came back over to my table and took my order. He apologized for the wait, which in this post-covid era, wasn't much of a wait at all.My soup came out right away, and it was delicious. I was able to enjoy it while waiting for my food. The main course arrived and it was a huge portion size. I ate half of it and had to take the other half home. The pot roast was cooked perfectly, melting off my fork. The entire meal was very reasonably priced and exceeded my expectations. I had not visited here before because the outside and the location gave me the impression it was an average tourist stop along the way to the coast but I could not have been more wrong about that.I will definitely be back again!“

“After checking the city out for an upcoming middle school field trip and hiking through the immersive old growth of the Cathedral Tree Trail, I shared a wonderful TLT (Tempeh Lettuce Tomato) with my soul mate at this great spot below Fort George Brewery. Lots of veggie and vegan options, baked goods and made to order sandos and burritos- along with whole loaf bread to-go.Our sandwich was perfectly crisp, filled with savory tempeh bacon, sliced tomatoes, greens and avocado. “Beautiful atmosphere. We didn’t realize it was on the water until we got sat. Great food, too. We ordered the bistro burger and fish & chips. Burger was our favorite and a must for any burger lover. The staff was also super kind and when there was a hiccup with our order, they promptly fixed it.“

“One of the best kept secrets on the Oregon Coast. This is a little hole in the wall on a busy street in Astoria with a changing seasonal menu and some of the best vibes in town. There's always something new and interesting coming to the menu, including chef-foraged ingredients and private dining experiences where the chef curates a special menu just for you. Kenzo, the owner-chef, is a wonderful human being, fun to talk to & just a genuinely kind guy. Stay and chat with him - he's a wealth of knowledge of the local area. “Food was amazing. Honestly really hit the spot and while we had to refrain from ordering while hungry and having the whole menu this was honestly the perfect amount. I had a black currant cider with my meal and it was a great match for the food.My only gripe and why the atmosphere doesn’t get 5 stars is the seating is so scattered. And since we were looking for a place to sit we ended up having to be outside. Thankfully it wasn’t raining but yeah it would have probably made it better if the options for being outside wasn’t only big tables or tables with stools so high you can’t properly eat your food.“

“I am a regular customer, and have never had an issue with their food or service until yesterday (4-12-24). I ordered a side salad, salmon cheese bread and pan fried oysters. Very normal order for me, and usually quite delicious. This time however, the oysters were served on a bed of grilled onions, which I have never seen them do. I detest grilled onions so I didn’t eat them. However, at 3am I sure did TASTE them when the entire meal came back up! So if cooking oysters with onions was their attempt to mask bad oysters, then it worked until my body figured out they were not safe. I called this morning and expect a full refund for check #34.I am still rating this place highly, because as I stated, never had a problem until now.“

“My date and I dropped in for Thai food on a Friday evening in April and were greeted and seated immediately at one of the four tables inside the restaurant. The smell upon entering the establishment was a foreshadowing of the delicious food we were soon served. We enjoyed the Astoria Potstickers as an appetizer and they were crisp and flavorful. My entree was Pad Thai Country which was a generous serving of chicken with lemongrass and peanut sauce over the noodles. The cook himself came to our table to make sure that he had my date's order correct since she didn't want rice and had requested that her curry dish be more like a soup. The result was amazing and she was similarly pleased. We both would like to come back again the next time that we visit Astoria.As a fun aside, the decor and music inside were all Cuban, as were the tattoos on the arms of the cook. Yet, the food was some of the best Thai I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Highly recommend Curry & CoCo Thai Eatery!“

“The food we had was outstanding! The only problem is we never got past appetizers and drinks as our waitress never came back to take our order! We were really enjoying the atmosphere and the exceptional appetizers and the waitress who was apparently new was delightful when we saw her! So we would recommend the place!“

“Some of the best Indian food I've had since moving to Oregon! Came here with my family while visiting Astoria and we were blown away with the food. There are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. The Pappadam lentil wafer was a delicious appetizer with a pleasant mild taste. Samosas were delicious too. The Bendi masala was the best I've ever had. The okra was so fresh and was cooked perfectly. Plus the flavor was incredible. My partner had the Aloo Gobi and again, it was the best we've had! The potatoes were cooked in a way we've never had before that made them chewy yet creamy - and we loved it! Out of this world food and the service was incredibly kind and helpful too.
