“Delicious pizza, friendly staff! Celiac friendly, but you have to ask so they can make it special.Dietary restrictions: I'm gluten intolerant and I ate here with someone who has celiac. They have a separate oven and solid allergen procedures, because we both made it out alright! (You will have to wait a couple minutes for them to make it for you, though.)“
“They’re always so timely and everything is fresh! I usually pick up and by the time I order and drive over it’s just coming out of the oven. The staff is always professional as well. I usually don’t eat Papa John’s anywhere else but this location is a go to for my family. They always have deals on their website to take advantage of as well.“
“Just moved to this area two weeks ago and have ordered 3 times already! Everything is fresh & hot. They listen to you and make everything exactly as requested. It's really a great neighborhood place for pizza & burgers, etc. Thanks to all the staff that are so friendly & welcoming.“
“I stopped by that area for lunch and had no idea of what I was in the mood for. I ended up getting two slices one sausage and one pepperoni. The slices were huge, and Delicious. The guys working there were awesome. They stopped what they were doing and took care of my other right away. I felt like someone special. I would suggest you give them a tryParking: Parking was a bit of a challenge, it's street parking and limited“
“Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. We had two calzones and shared a slice of the cheesesteak pizza - which was also fantastic. The calzones were fresh and tasted homemade, the people were so accommodating and friendly. I wish Bella Italia nothing but the best, I will be coming again the next time I’m in Philly.“
“The owner is an older Italian man. He has a personality and is not the most accommodating. Like many older people, he is set in his ways. You can tell though that he is extremely hardworking and has a good heart. If you like to have small talk he will definitely strike up a conversation with you if you walk - probably in a slightly grumpy-ish character, it’s part of his charm. I saw a comment that said he is like the Seinfeld soup guy and I have never agreed more?? Dont try to adjust anything on the pizza, he wont do it.I have had him hung up on me on the phone before, don’t try to make conversation over the phone. If you have trouble ordering on the phone use Uber. His pizza, especially the pomodoro romano is to die for. I tried the famous pizza places in Philly and New York and the caramelized onions actually are the best thing ever. My boyfriend and I always make an experience out of getting his pizza and have fun with it. His food is truly worth it.However, people like me who are a bit socially anxious// inflexible I would advice to not lose out on the great pizza and do this: call in 20 minutes before you want your pizza, look at the menu before hand and know exactly what you want. I have never delivered but I do pick up and the pizzas are always fresh and warm. The pizzas take 20 minutes because he hand kneads out the dough and puts it in the brick wood oven after he gets your order. You can see him make them if you order in and wait for your pizza!! FYI you cant eat in the store. Please please please try this pizza and give the old man a chance. He is difficult and inflexible but he is hardworking, good hearted and charming in his own way. At the end of the day, if everyone is perfectly nice and well-mannered what fun would that be?“
“These guys are great. The definitely have the best vegetarian pizza around, and I love both their sauce and crust. I order for them for events I host a lot; recently I misplaced a receipt I needed and they looked up the order for me and sent me a copy, which was HUGE, and the guy I talked with seemed totally happy to do it.“
“We are so incredibly lucky to live less than a 10min walk from West Passyunk to Stina. The food, staff and space are a perfectly balanced blend with so much love, care and attention to detail put into each dish. Order everything… Stina forever! 5⭐️“
“I was in Lancaster PA for a Coffee conference and decided to stop in Philly for some cheesesteaks on the way home and had to stop here. By far the best Philly Cheesesteak I’ve ever had to date. I’ve also tried a lot of the Tristate areas best pizza spots and the pizza I got was one of the best I’ve had in recent memory. The quality of the ingredients they used was fantastic as well. I unfortunately didn’t get a picture of the cheesesteak because I ate it so fast due to how good it was, but it will not disappoint.“
“Dined in tonight with my family and Rylee served us, she was very quick and efficient! She recommended the rigatoni abruzzi and her signature green tea match martini, which were both phenomenal! Highly recommend coming here and asking for Rylee!“
“Great experience - but the hours clearly say they're open until 8pm on the door, I don't know why Maps is saying they're open until 9pm?Vegetarian options: There are a bunch of naturally vegetarian options, and any meats can be removed or replaced with vegetarian alternatives.Dietary restrictions: Great awareness of celiac disease as well as various dietary needs and allergies.“
“I stumbled upon this great spot that serves an amazing Chilli Paneer Pizza – it's really something with its spicy kick and cheesy goodness. And the Achari Chicken Wings? They're a perfect match with the pizza. Topped off with a Limca, it makes for a fantastic meal. Highly recommend giving it a try if you're up for something new!“
“This place is amazing. I have tried many cheesesteaks in the area and this is one of my favorites. The quality of the meat cheese and the seeded roll makes it perfect. There’s usually a wait, but it is worth it. I highly recommend trying it out“
“Edit: I received a response within minutes of my review and after a brief exchange the manager (or owner, I'm not sure) sent me a gift card as an apology. My wife and I ordered food tonight and it was AMAZING. My faith in the couch tomato has been restored!!! A former personal favorite of mine. When they hit their food is out of this world. But the miss rate is getting bigger and higher making it so that I now hesitate when I have a craving for my favorite pizza or salad. They used to be a once every two weeks option for me, now they're once every two months.“
“Lucked in to finding this place while in town. Small local restaurant, clean and friendly. The mozzarella sticks are freshly cut, battered and deep fried. Best I’ve ever had. The pizza was amazing. Had pepperoni and sausage. Sausage was legit good!“
“True old world Italian cooking artistry. Opened in 1899 Dante and Luigi's is one of the oldest restaurants in Philadelphia PA. It is certainly the oldest Italian eatery in Philly. Cozy with well dressed wait staff and old world decor. The food tells the story here. I have eating there since college. I took my dates there when I was 18. I go for the food. Delicious is the keyword. Savory tomato sauces, tender meats and exquisite desserts if you have the room after eating your meal. On my recent visit I had pasta fagoli and a side of roasted peppers and provolone to start and their homemade lasagna for the main course. Everything was scrumptious. Even though I was bordering on I can't eat another bite I had the tiramisu for dessert. I couldn't resist. Dante and Luigi is easily my favorite Italian restaurant and a cut about the rest.“
“This is a fabulous local restaurant and if I lived in the neighborhood I would be there at least twice a month. I was hosting some out-of-town visitors and we enjoyed between the three of us, two plates of pasta and a caprese salad and it was more than enough food and we also enjoyed our red and white BYOB wines. Afterwards we went down a block Dirty Frank's on the corner of 13th and Pine for a nightcap which completed a full circle Philadelphia experience.“
“Superb service and phenomenal food! Fun atmosphere for a quick bite, after work wind down, date night, or time with friends. Excited for the live music and other events.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options that will satisfy all cravings.Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegan options! Chef is crazy cool and accommodating.“
“This space is breathtaking. From the first few steps in, you know it’s going to be a good food experience. Meticulous detail on decor and the dishes. We had an oyster appetizer, fresh and well treated. We tried their pasta dishes and the spicy chicken sandwich and neither disappointed. Hands down best restaurant in the city.“
“This place has been on my list for some time and I was fortunate to visit at a downtime. Amongst a city full of pizza shops, Down North stands out among the greats. ENVIRONMENT The restaurant is relatively easy to find and seats no more than 5 or so people in the shop. The wait was a tad excessive which I credited to the food being "made with love". FOOD I love a good piece of focaccia! Another contributor commented that their pizza can be likened to focaccia which I would find to be incredibly accurate. The "Detroit" style was incredibly flavorful accompanied by a heaping of toppings(I settled on the "I'm A Boss"). I will admit the fries left a bit much to be desired but not enough to influence my rating. If you're based anywhere in North Philly between Farimount and Erie Ave, I can confidently say Down North is among the top three picks for the area. Happy eating!“
“We were there for lunch, loved the food, especially the short rib pizza, and I usually don't eat pizza. My friend thought there was a little too much cheese. Never. I had some sort of crab pasta. It was ok, not loaded with crab like the waiter said. My friend had a salad, no complaints, but the waiter had to be asked to refill our water and tea, and we had to wait to get his attention. It wasn't busy. I loved the tiramisu. The waiter packed up our separate "to go's" nicely. I would definitely go back, lots of interesting things on the menu.“
“So amazing! Just yum vegan pizza. I love the tomato pie the most and everything I’ve tried from here is fantastic. I want to try the white pizza, I’ve heard great things. Hope you enjoy!Heard they may be bringing the Sicilian pizza back :)“
“I’ve eaten at a very vegan spot in the area, including the city like Vedge, Monster Vegan etc. and THIS RIGHT HERE is the best of them all, hands down. Everything on the menu is incredible! Legitimately perfect, my only qualm is I wish they were open more!! The Cesar salad with chicken and wings are sooooo delicious.“
“I dont usually write reviews but this place definitely deserved one. My boyfriend and I heard about this place online and decided to make the 30-40 minute drive to try it out and it for sure did NOT disappoint. Food was amazing and tasted so fresh. The owner (Vince) was very welcoming and nice. We will for sure be back again... maybe even tomorrow!! Lol“
“Amazing, Delectable, Homey, and great. At dough head you don’t just get pizza, you get a bustling little shop with passionate owners and staff. THIS PLACE WAS BUSYYYY!!! But it didn’t stop the owner from having some fun with us and even offering us some soda for the long wait. There is energy and love in that kitchen. And it does translate to the Pizza. Delicious and one of the bests I’ve had in a while. Dough Head you were worth it!“
“Pizzeria Stella on South Street boasts a winning combination of delicious food and a delightful atmosphere. Their pizzas are truly outstanding – I highly recommend the San Danielle for its perfect balance of flavors. If you're looking for something beyond pizza, don't miss the gnocchi with guanciale bacon – it's absolutely divine!Whether you're a pizza enthusiast or just looking for a cozy spot with incredible Italian food, Pizzeria Stella is a must-try. The ambiance adds a special touch to the experience, making it a great choice for a casual date night or a fun dinner with friends.“
“Food was amazing! We almost didn't come here because they didn't have many reviews but we are so glad we did. Food was exceptional and the service was fantastic . We started with the beet salad and octopus, shared the branzino and finished with the tiramisu. We can't wait to come back!“
“I’ve eaten here twice, now. I thought there was no way that what I ordered tonight (quesadillas w/rib eye) could match the Bufalo pizza from two days ago. I was as wrong as I could be. I’m guessing that I will eat here 80 to 100 times this year. It’s THAT good.“
“This cool vibe place is friendly, and well staffed with an open style kitchen. Creative menu with ingredients applied tactfully with an appropriate touch. Smaller plates are perfect portions and served at an enjoyable pace.Def worth stopping in.“
“Some of the best Detroit style pizza you'll find anywhere. Also just some of the best pizza you'll find anywhere. The roni cup and hot honey pizza is outrageous, you absolutely need to get it. Owner and his team know what they're doing, are timely, and are super nice to talk to. 5 stars is a no brainer.Wheelchair accessibility: there's a ramp to get in from the parking lot, no steps.“
“As a big pizza girly who is picky about her crust, she was highly impressed…the sauce alone *no words needed*. Chef Spyro was very welcoming and gave us great service. I really enjoyed the space as well, so clean, so classy, but homey, and the fact thats it’s open for the curious eye when having food made for you, is great. I wish I had taken photos to include, but I doubt a picture can make your taste buds any justice…no words. JUST TRY IT!! Its definitely worth the trip“
“Walked over on a rainy day and found the crowd light, so we took a place at the bar. Ordered drinks and a pizza (regular pie with vegan pepperoni) and watched the first period of the Flyers Game. Pizza was excellent and we will definitely be going backVegetarian options: For vegetarians / vegans you can get pretty much the whole menu as a vegan option.“
“Visiting Philadelphia over Easter. Ended up at Prunella Sunday afternoon. The Honey Fitzgerald cocktail was amazing! Ordered the Caesar salad which was a great surprise to the tastebuds, and the pizza was just so damn delicious. The service and atmosphere was perfect. Had dinner the previous evening at The Capital Grille, but I enjoyed Prunella for the casual feel and experience we had. Prunella will be first on my list when visiting Philadelphia next. I just loved everything about it!“
“legendary spot on South street. big slice with tangy sauce, just the right amount of cheese and crust that holds up. tastes even better after a show @ the TLA. still on of my all time favorites, I put it up there with all the great NY/NJ/CT slices.“
“Came here from NH for Wrestlemania weekend my friend looked up this place so we decided to go. I must say this is the best pizza I have ever had in my life. Being an Eagles fan that lives in NH I need to come back for an Eagles game and when i do I will absolutely come back here and have their pizza again!“
“Not a big foodie, but it wasn't badGot the top floor to ourselves, so we were allowed to ask Alexa for any song we wanted ?Unfortunately, this also meant the waiter had to go up 2 flights of stairs to get to us, however she was a good sport about it, and we enjoyed our meal. Great chicken“
“Our daughter got married at Arch St Meeting House recently. OC Pizza was the perfect nearby neighbor for the rehearsal dinner. Everyone was so accommodating, food was delicious (10 pizzas delivered fresh from the oven). We were at the Wyndham; we and many wedding guests ate sooo many meals here in the ensuing days. Pizza, lasagna, Greek salad--so many great menu choices. And the staff--delightful! We'll be back.“
“Food is really good I got the fettuccine Alfredo, I got a small pizza half pep that they forgot to deliver with door dash. And a cake … my dasher went out of his way to go all the way back to the store which he didn’t have to do. But a hour later we received the pizza cold as ever but it was still good. I just wish the pizza store would have cooked us a fresh pizza since they forgot to give it to the dasher. But other then that I will be back in person for more food“
“This is my go to neighborhood bar. Service is wonderful and the owners are amazing. They know your name, remember your face, and make you feel right at home. Favorite food is the upside down pizza and tuna. Upbeat music and atmosphere. Highly recommend!“
“I ordered a plain cheese pizza for take out on a Sunday afternoon. I had to wait 25 minutes but it was worth it. Like most places in the city, parking options are very limited. When I walked in to their shop I saw several happy customers eating away, enjoying their food. The place seats about 20 people. Nice low key , no frills, South Philly Italian pizza parlor vibe with very good food. It beats standing in line at Angelo’s.“
“We chose Ariano for a baby shower and our experience was exceptional. From the moment Jamie, our waiter, greeted us until the moment we left we were impressed. Jamie was amazing, accommodating and professional. Ben, another waiter, was equally so. Both made us feel comfortable and welcome. The food was delicious, bountiful, and beautifully served. Timing for the different courses was perfect. As always, the upstairs room proved to be the most lovely space for our event and seated our 34 guests easily. From first inquiry to final details Nicolette, the event manager, was prompt, efficient and helpful and she made our event planning a breeze. Totally five stars for hospitality, food, and atmosphere.“
“I LOVE EDDIES PIZZA!!! I have been coming here for the past 3 years and it is the best pizza I’ve ever had. They should come out with merch because I would rep this spot any day! The vodka margarita and the plain pizza have my heart. It’s a family owned business and they really care about their food.“
“I’ve been coming here for years as a student at temple university! It’s one of the places that I enjoy going too and always rave about. The pizza never disappoints, and the slices are good for what you pay! Never disappointed. I usually get a plain, margarita, or a buffalo chicken. Today I got a buffalo chicken with my friend and we both enjoyed it!“
“Great pizza in close proximity to the Apple hostel.I had a veggie pizza (12", 11$), my extra wishes like no olives or substitutions were respected. The pizzas were freshly made, which took around 15 min. If you are in a hurry, there are also premade slices available that just get reheated. The delivery box storage on top of the applianced doesnt give the best impression.“
“This place has the best vegan food that doesn't taste like traditional “vegan food”. It also has non-vegan options, so it is great for bringing non-vegan friends/family. They also have a wide variety of alcohol in case you enjoy that stuff. They also have a huge selection of pizzas, even including vegan ones! You can even sub vegan cheese on any one of the regular pizzas. I had a sandwich that was made of pizza crust, and ive never had anything like it before! 10/10 will be returning.“
“Fantastic beers! Keen (a dark mild) and Gully (IPA) are personal favorites but they have sooo many different varieties from sours to porters. Also love the wine, particularly the Pinot Gris, and my sister enjoyed the Riesling. The pizza is delicious, love the mushroom pizza and they usually have some kind of yummy special. The buffalo wings have a great heat and are juicy with plenty of meat—I don’t even like wings but these are ones I crave. Lots of veggie options, too—salads, yummy fried artichoke app, and pizzas. The ambiance is clean, colorful, and warm, and the service is always great. And they have soft serve with chocolate syrup!!“
“The Owner & staff is the best they always accommodate me with my light cook pizzas for my uncle!!!because he has no teeth and he enjoys King Pizza. To the staff much appreciated ??☪️?that’s LOVE PERIOT! I’m super grateful ☺️ for the small things in life to make a senior citizen ? “
“As a cheesesteak enthusiast, I was anxious to try the "Jawn" advertised as a pound of prime ribeye on a freshly kneaded roll with caramelized onions and Cooper Sharp. The roll was fresh and warm, and yeasty, but more like pizza crust than the high end Italian rolls one finds at the best cheesesteak joints. Onions were perfect. Cheese was kind of skimpy. The beef was high quality and free of gristle..but a POUND? Maybe 8oz. MAX before cooking. I've eaten several pound steaks, and this ain't one. Fries were very high quality frozen, served piping hot in a cute mini fry-basket. Wife's wings were crispy and didn't get soggy in the plentiful hot sauce. Drinks are very reasonable and staff attentive and friendly. I guess the "Jawn" is a kind of novelty, and the price may reflect the beef grade as opposed to weight. Adorable atmosphere. I'll return, but try the Italian dishes where I suspect they excel.“
“Food is great ? a bit expensive but worthy. Service is great and clean place . The only thing I feel is all tables are to close to get and felt a bit wired being close to strangers ?. It is a good place for a first date !!! Will return for the ? pizza.“
“I came here around lunchtime for a quick bite. When I got there I noticed I was the only one there which is OK because I did get there around 11 AM. I ordered the bruschetta and the shrimp scampi. I was surprised to see that there was no Alfredo on the menu. The shrimp scampi was OK but the bruschetta was the best bruschetta I’ve ever had. I would come here again because the service was great, but it was missing Alfredo for me.“
