The most noticeable sign in front of the bar is a giant sign that says you can't fight in the bar. Cigs inside. $1 beers. Strange feral-looking clientele who may be old gods in mortal form (or they're just crazy old men, hard to tell). It doesn't get better than this
The Omar bar is a part of Bellefonte all must experience. On a late Friday or Saturday there is no telling who you may run into or what mindset the person may be in. Drink up and light a smoke. Remember the BPD will be right outside the door waiting for you to stagger out to see if you will get into the driver's seat.

The Omar is now called The Hootinanny [sic], with new owners. It's still a dive, but they're trying to make it a friendly, no-fighting dive, and it's working. It's cleaned up, but not polished, and single women clearly feel comfortable there. Last time we went, there was a pretty good one-man act playing guitar, and $4 drafts of Tröegs Mad Elf, and guys in motorcycle jackets, and smoking is allowed (no food).
