“Nice place. Little bit small. Great for hanging out with friends. Kinda has a dive bar feel. Ordered fries and spinach dip. They were good, but the dip is NOT worth $8.50. It came out in a 3 oz ramekin with chips on the side. Barely even any dip in the cup.“
“The Hootinanny supports community fund raisers and as a result I went there for my first time to get a drink they sponsored. I took a group of 7 people and we had a great time. The service and bartenders expertise was amazing. Gotta love the historical bar, it's beautiful. I will definitely be back.“
“The Omar is now called The Hootinanny [sic], with new owners. It's still a dive, but they're trying to make it a friendly, no-fighting dive, and it's working. It's cleaned up, but not polished, and single women clearly feel comfortable there. Last time we went, there was a pretty good one-man act playing guitar, and $4 drafts of Tröegs Mad Elf, and guys in motorcycle jackets, and smoking is allowed (no food). So... factor all that in, and give The Omar a shot. We'll be back.Vegetarian options: None; they don't serve food.Parking: Not a lot of spots, but after hours, can use the lot next door.Kid-friendliness: Not At All. Do not bring kids here.“
“I always enjoy this place. Guacamole is great, but the spicy could be spicier. Margaritas are crazy if you like them. This is the Enchiladas Nayarit, made with fish and spinach. There was a slight citrus flavor and the blend was good. The corn is the Street Elote, one of three cobs served.“
“This place is hard to beat with it's second to none quality meals and appetizers. Cattered business events try Olde New York. Some where last minute with the family stop off at Old New York and finally 6pm just getting off work gotta catch your teams kick off in 20 mins. with its amazing wing options and wide variety of beverages to enjoy Old New York is the place to be. Where even if your team loses your experience there still makes it a win. Hope to see you there next time ?✌️?“
“This was our first time here. We came for our 15 year wedding anniversary. I didnt really know what to expect walking in here because I only took a quick look at the menu but all I can say is this is my new favorite restaurant in the area. To start off the evening we shared the Crab and Artichoke Dip. We both really enjoyed it. Rich , creamy, and exploding with flavor. For dinner I had a hard time deciding between a steak or seafood. I could have gotten the surf and turf but the Steampot was calling my name. It did not disapoint. It was amazing and took me back to eating steampots on the Carolina coast. My wife had a spcial. It was a horseradish encrusted steak. We shared our dinners with one another and that steak was amazing. I hope they are running that special next time we eat there. Dessert... well we went a few days after Halloween so we had our fill of sugar and skipped it but the Tiramisu looked delicious. Thanks for making our special night that more special.“
“Dining experience was good, started off with ? wine, although the waitress wasn't exactly sure on most things but she was 18-20 yrs old since so I give her credit for not knowing...had calamari with some strange creamy sauce, not sure about the sauce but calamari was good, had pork chop with mashed potatoes, green beans with a butternut squash sauce (maybe) at the bottom, whatever it was, hit the spot!“
“Amazing atmosphere & food! The food is exquisitely prepared & served. The waiters & waitresses are attentive & friendly. There's also a nice drink menu whether it a soda, wine, draft beer or mixed drink. You won't be disappointed!“
“The bartender Chris was outstanding: personable, offered suggestions since it was our first visit, and checked in frequently. Good looking bar with an old school look. We had cheesesteak, grilled cheese and tomato soup(excellent on a chilly rainy day). It was good, not amazing, no slight. Definitely would go back for an afternoon.“
“Did not expect this sort of cuisine in central PA tbh. The pork belly is amazing, the barramundi is crisp and flakey (also a rare fish to find in restaurants), everything was super tasty. Waitresses are great, and the vibe is nice. Did not get rushed at all and truly enjoyed spending time there. Would go back 10/10“
“It's a lovely, colonial-style inn near State College, Pa. My husband's Old Fashioned rivaled a Whiskey Sour he'd had at NOLA's Couchon--memorable. My Sauvignon Blanc was very nice. Our calamari and lamb lollipop apps were perfectly cooked and expertly seasoned. Same for the salmon filet and the pork chop. Homemade key lime pie was a lovely ending to a delightful meal. But when I received the credit card chit to sign, there was a discrepancy . The bill was thirty cents less than what appeared on the credit card chit. There was also a credit card service charge of $4.95. When asked, our waitress said she didn't understand it either and the best she could do was say it had something to do with taxes. So, as far as we can figure out, their overly cautious accountant advised Duffy's to collect a six percent sales tax on that $4.95 credit card surcharge just in case. I don't usually mind paying the cc surcharge, but I really did mind that thirty cents that wasn't itemized anywhere. It's a nice restaurant, but they need a new accountant.“
“What a great basement bar. Absolutely love the old school vibe. Excellent variety of draft and bottle beers as well as some great mixology. Food is available from the Corner Room upstairs and will be delivered to your table. After restaurant closes they allow outside food to be brought in. Friday night had two live bands that were excellent. Can’t wait to return.“
“We stopped in on a Friday afternoon. Definitely a locals bar. Definitely good beer prices. We drank for a few hours for $20 (draft beers) many options on tap. Lots of locals drinking 16oz cans ?♀️ Smoking right outside the door. Free popcorn. Friendly clientele. Crowd seemed to be 45 yrs old and up.“
“Superb! Enjoyed a family birthday celebration and had the BEST time staying at “The Gamble Mill” including the use of the private “Speakeasy” room. So classy!!! The decor of the whole place is beautiful, modern yet cozy while feeling a presence of history - really cool! The bedroom suites are spacious and provide detailed amenities- they thought of every little thing; the bed was super comfy and the sheets/blankets so soft and lush.“The Republic” bar served a variety of delicious signature cocktails - I especially enjoyed the “Anne Marie” and the “Perfect Martini” So refreshing and served in pretty glasses! The service was so friendly, attentive and timely. I love the atmosphere of this bar! Definitely a place to visit or go regularly if you live nearby!“
