“you get great family like service from the owners to the staff. the food is excellent from the fresh bread on the cheeseburger sub to the steaks. the home made soups are to die for. when i get off work as a cook i am not usually hungry but when i decide to eat there my stomach is rumbling knowing how great the food is.“
“I come here almost every Thursday night! I love their cream chipped beef! The best I ever had! All their food is fantastic though! Its all homemade! Great breakfast!!! It's a must especially on the latest night you have! They are open 24 hours! Love them! Worth the trip from harrisburg. Waffle house is way too packed at 2 am. Go here!!“
“Food and service were good. Took off star because of unchanging, want rye toast , 25 cents extra also service charge for using credit card. They should be more transparent about these fees. My group still enjoyed this traditional styled diner.“
“Best diner in the area. I've been going here going on 10 years I believe. The staff is always pleasant. The food is fantastic and you can't beat the prices. It gives you a mom and pop feel eating here and those are some of the best experiences when dining if you ask me. Highly recommend.Parking: This place stays pretty busy so parking is usually scarce and you may need to park on the street if the lot is full.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. Me and my now 5 year old comes here every other weekend.“
“Checked this diner while over in the Mechanicsburg area this morning. The outside of the diner is fairly nondescript, but the interior is a '50s themed diner including counter service. These server was very timely and provide a good attention. The food was fair but not spectacular. It was reasonably well prepared, but overall a bit bland. This was just my first time at the diner, so it may have just been an off day or an unwise breakfast choice on my part. One thing I would suggest is if you don't want your toast smoothered in butter you may might want to request it dry with butter on the side.“
“THIS is a diner! As such you will not receive gourmet plates. However you will receive decent food at an incredible price. Burgers, breakfast, specials, desserts... All good (and possibly covered in copious amounts of gravy). You can't go wrong here. Even if it were possible, you'd be out less than $10. What's not to like?EDIT for 2023 - prices have, of course, edged up a bit, but this place is still a bargain and still worth stopping by.“
“I say this without any hesitation. The best eggs Benedict I have ever had. Their food is made fresh and the owner is incredibly sweet. Highly recommend if your in the area. Just a bit sad he isn't near me or this restaurant would be our family's regular “
“Definitely a little hole in the wall. But a perfect breakfast! I had Eggs Benedict with home fries potatoes. Wife had eggs over medium, home fries, and a strawberry pancake. We split an order of bacon. It's been hard finding a place that knows how to make breakfast. But we're very happy.“
“I had lunch with my sister at the Lemoyne diner. It was a last minute decision to stop there. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly although the room was in much need of an update! Our lunch was prompt and looked very appetizing. I had a grilled bacon and cheese sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sandwich had 5 slices of delicious bacon and 3kinds of cheeses. It was the best grilled bacon and cheese sandwich that I ever had. Super delicious!! The fries were hot and tasty. My sister and I will definitely go back again.“
“I used to go here all the time back in the early 90's. I had not been here since 95. Oh my it's still best food prices and portions in the Burg! Definitely a locals spot and anyone who works in the downtown capital area. Stop in look at this $9 meatloaf with double mash. ???“
“Food was great and portions were very generous. I got the biscuits and gravy and it was so good.. The server said that they were both made fresh in house daily and you could tell. I ended up taking half mine home there was so much. Prices felt a little high for a "diner" but in the end you really did get your money's worth. Will definitely go again.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly atmosphere. They do have a kids menu and crayons, which kept my littles occupied. Food also arrived very quickly for the entire table, which was great with two hungry kids waiting.“
“Sooooo nice having somewhere in town to get a good meal late at night! We visited Angie's on our trip to Hershey. We didn't get into town until after 8pm, which would normally leave us with only fast food options or a pizza order. It was awesome to eat some real food, late, after a long trip. Food was fresh and real rather than frozen and processed. Highly recommend the disco fries!Desserts look to die for... trying next time.“
“We ate there last night after the All American Sports Show in Harrisburg. The food was awesome. The portions were awesome. They have a big menu. We were looking for seafood. Many seafood items. My friend had broiled scallops. I had broiled seafood platter. Everything was excellent. Prices very reasonable. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area.“
“Went for Sunday brunch. Meals were hearty and fresh. Lacked a little seasoning, especially in the hollandaise sauce. Service was quick, friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was clean, spacious and warm. Meals and drinks were only $15 per person which is a steal in this economy! We will definitely be back ?“
“I ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich w/onion rings. It was served to me hot, fresh & fast! Probably the best Monte Cristo I ever had! My server Athena was sweet & professional, diner was neat, clean & well run. It was a great choice for lunch.Parking: Tons of parkingWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access ramp in front.“
“State street grill was highly recommended to us for brunch and we were not disappointed!! The atmosphere is very chic and inviting. The menu was so original and absolutely delicious. I can’t say enough about the food and atmosphere! Can’t wait to go back for dinner.“
“Susan was our server; she was the cutest little woman! Susan was efficient, helpful, attentive and friendly. My husband had eggs, toast, sausage and tomatoes. His breakfast was good, especially the sausage. I tried the Augolemeno soup for the first time. Wow, it was delicious and steaming hot. I also had the grilled chicken salad. It was huge with fresh vegetables. The only negative was the chicken. It was cold and seemed like something out of a box; not tender or tasty at all. That is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. The bathrooms were clean, all the live plants were healthy and beautiful and it was nicely decorated.Parking: Plenty of parking“
“Found the Diner online while in the area. Great choice to go there. Service was good, food good, you get plenty for your buck. Only problem I had was, the smell of cleaning supplies. The scent was strong and everytime cleaning was being done, almost taste the cleaner while eating. Yes you want to know a place is clean, but not taste while eating.“
“I only had some breakfast items so I can't rate higher, but what I had was VERY good. Our server was very cordial and pleasant. I give the atmosphere high marks because they obviously put a lot of money into the interior of the restaurant. Very clean, more upscale than you expect from a diner. Very nice and very good selection of food. There HAS TO BE something there for everyone. Go, you will be happy you did.“
“I really enjoyed my dining experience. I received excellent service. My server(Alex was her name) was an absolute delight. She was very attentive and made sure the order came out right and our drinks were never empty. I will definitely be returning.“
“Great tuna clubs and tuna melts! I ordered breakfast the last time we went. It came out on 3 plates: eggs, hashbrowns, toast on one plate, 2 pancakes on a 2nd plate and scrapple on a 3rd plate...lots of food. Thank goodness someone helped eating it.“
“Good food at good prices and always quick for breakfast. Excellent pancakes, good corn beef hash, good eggs benedict. The breakfast potatoes are bland, not particularly home fries or hash browns, just potatoes that are fried so the outside ones are a little crunchy and the inside ones are soft. Everything else is good though.“
