This is the best restaurant in Carlisle! I can guarantee you won't have a bad meal or bad experience. The food is so good and the staff is the friendliest! Been going there for years never had a bad meal!

First time in and the last time in. Ordered curly fries, which are a cheap frozen food product, the burgers are cooked well well well done and bone dry, not cooked medium like the waitress said they are. Just over all a bad food experience, the service was ok. It’s a mystery how well this place is ranked given the quality of food.

I ordered a chicken parmesan with spaghetti. The chicken was deep fried with a coating. I had a choice of marinara or meat sauce. I figured marinara was watery so picked meat. The sauce was so thick all you had was meat, making the spaghetti dry. I had to scrape off the burned coating from the chicken. Worst meal I ever had. They also threw in a piece of dried out toast they I assume thought was garlic toast. Totally uneatable.

It was our first time here tonight. Food was pretty bad. Without a doubt, everything we ordered was canned or frozen. I ordered turkey and I got two little white things that resembled ham steaks but were white in color. Never saw a cut on a turkey that looked like that. My father’s hamburger was frozen and we were told it was fresh when he asked prior to ordering. Any time a menu is as extensive as this restaurant’s was, run the other way. 99% of the time that means it’s impossible to make everything they offer fresh to order. Do not waste your money here. Yuck!

Found this restaurant based on a recommendation from a random guy at a gas station. If someone recommends a place, I feel like you're obligated to try it out. Scalles was worth a little bit of a detour off our Mid-Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route #MABDR. The food was delicious and their portions were generous. They treated our small group like family. My only complaint (and it's not even worth knocking down their rating) was that I had a craving for a brownie, and they didn't have any on the dessert menu! ;-)

Have been wanting to try Scalles for years. Finally decided to go today for lunch. You seat yourself in this establishment. Seems quite popular with the locals. The waitress was professional and very knowledgeable about the menu. They have quite a lot of choices of American foods on their menu. I chose the fish & chips platter and my husband had the fried clams platter. We were both happy with our food. Not greasy at all and plenty on the plate. The macaroni salad was delicious! Their prices tend toward the higher range, so it’s not a place we’ll visit often. But, we do plan to return.

You seat yourself in this establishment. It’s a nice restaurant in a refurbished warehouse. Seems quite popular with the locals. They have a plethora of choices of American foods. I chose the fish & chips platter, and my husband chose the fried clam platter. Very nicely done. Not greasy. Plenty of food. Loved the macaroni salad! We liked that there was a napkin dispenser and sugar pourer on the table. Their prices tend toward the higher range, so we won’t come here too often. But, it was delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming, and we do plan to come back.
Stopped in from Texas. Great food, Awesome Staff. You know they are good when the locals all come in and the wait staff knows them by name.

One of my favorite local places to eat. Always clean. Always good service. Inside and outside seating is available. The food is great. Portions are good and always tasty. My personal fave is the open face hot roast beef and gravy but it's a pretty solid menu of traditional homestyle food.The kicker is they also sell alcohol. Beer. Wine coolers. Singles and 6 packs. All brands. You can just carry out alcohol too without ordering food. I recommend it highly

Sandwiches here are top notch! Service was quick and they have gluten free bread options. It was cool to see the history in the building with it being an old warehouse. Highly recommend for a quick bite to eat.
