New owner has some growing pains but still a nice place to stay. Private and peaceful. 2023: website is gone. I saw some info that this place is for sale. Seems to be on downhill slope fast. IMO

To all of you bashing this once wonderful place. Keep in mind the owner lost his wife last year and he now has pancreatic cancer. Have a heart everyone.

We booked a Friday and Saturday night stay for a weekend in July 2022. We found out a couple days before our stay from a review on TripAdvisor that the place had closed. They never contacted us to let us know they would be closing. There is no way to contact them so we have no way to get back our $200 deposit.

Wanna know how my stay was? Well I couldn’t tell you, because we drive 3 hours to get here and the place was closed. Signs on the door said ‘We Are Closed’. We made reservations in January and no one called or emailed to let me know it closed. After we leave Paradise Stream, which is where we ended up, I will do call and write to whoever I need to and get my deposit back. That’s my review. Thumbs down!

They are closed... without warning or refund of deposits... We had reservations for Labor Day weekend and found out completely by accident when I read a review of a couple who went there for the 4th of July and no one was there. I tried calling (the number just beeps) I emailed with no reply from them. I ended up calling the business next door and he confirmed that the place has been empty for several months. Their website is still active and you can actually book a room but no one is there. Such a scam..Luckily, my charge card credited the $195 deposit.

Had a reservation for late September 2022. Went on website to check some and saw a notice in red PERMANENTLY CLOSED. Attempted to call and email with not success. They never sent my deposit back or notified me of their closure. I spent two month trying to get my deposit refunded from my credit car company. Finally got it back. It was a lovely place and I was disappointed in they was they handled their closing.

We booked a trip to stay here for the Labor Day weekend back in March. I tried to call them last week to confirm my reservation and arrival time. The phone just beeps and no one answers the emails. I did some searching and found reviews from people who had gone there expecting them to be open and found the place deserted. I went so far as to look up the business next door to be sure and he said that they've been closed for months and that the property hasn't been touched. Yet...the website is still up and you can still make a reservation. WHAT THE ?????? really..... I got lucky and my charge card credited my $195 deposit and we were able to find another place to stay.

CLOSED WITHOUT NOTICE! Reserved 3 nights for July 4th weekend & paid one night's deposit. Upon arrival lodge was closed!! No notification, contact info or plans for refund. Phone & email out of service. My Capital One card may be my only recourse. Shocked & furious.

If I could give more of a terrible rating I would. We booked this place June of 2021 for a wedding 2 weeks ago. I called a few days before leaving to confirm and found out they were CLOSED! They took our money a year ago and never told us they were closing! Needless to say we had to scramble to find another hotel and now I am fighting with my credit card company trying to get my money back! What a nighmare!

Very quiet cottages. Quaint, not updated. We came up for 2 nights. The second night, no housekeeping. Had to go to desk for towels. Also had complimentary breakfast onSunday, very nice gentleman. On Monday prior to checkout, no breakfast. Was offered leftovers from Sunday.

This place is absolutely adorable! Really nice weekend getaway for couples. It has a country, rustic feel, which is nice from all the modern day fix ups. Very clean and the staff is amazing and so friendly. 6 minutes away from Mt. Airy Casino. I LOVE it here. My husband and I still have 2 more nights here, & I feel like I want to stay longer. So peaceful. I highly recommend it. Ms. Ruth at the front desk is such a sweetheart.

Booked on a Friday night for a last minute weekend away.Posituves are...Good location, nice sized clean room and friendly staff. The room had a small deck out back, a kuerig coffee maker, two televisions (one by the bed and one in the sitting area) and decent amenities (shampoo / conditioner and makeup remover)The few negatives were...wifi was out the entire time we were there (which apparently happens frequently) and the bed was on the small side.Overall, a nice place to stay

To be honest I was little skeptical when I pulled into the parking lot but after checking in this place was amazing. Yes it is little bit dated compared to like a best Western but that adds to the charm of it. The staff was nice and extremely helpful hell the chef for breakfast came right up to our table and asked what we would like. Each stay includes a free breakfast like an actual breakfast made by a chef. Plus on property there so many things to like the pool, tennis, even various hiking trails. Unlike a standard hotel most of the rooms are there own separate build so at night its like your drive through a little village. I loved it and most likely will be coming back

We stayed here way back in 1994 and while the place was clean it was very dated. The same carpet from 1994 but now it is torn in spots which is expected for 30+ yr old carpet. The tv was the old style tv from the 80’s. While the place was clean…charging over $300 a night for a place stuck in the 80’s/90’s is not what should be charged. Especially since there are other places in town that are much more modern but for similar or less per night. The owners clearly have not but much into modernizing the place and while the local competition gets newer and modern….this place gets older. Our cottage had clear signs of wear and tear which was disappointing for over $300 a night. I did not expect to be walking back into 1994 when we opened the front door. If the owner’s put money into renovating which this place clearly needs we would come back. Otherwise there are several other places in the area that are at least not stuck back in the 90’s such as the newly rebuilt Pocono manner opening in 2022, mt airy lodge and casino and Kakahari resort to name just a few. Sure wish this place kept up with the times.
