My friend went to this ER few days ago, I was pleased of how well the staff members and ER staff treated her with respect and professionalism, updating her. Thank ER nurse Chris, she was prompt, very good at triaging, asked her the right questions and nurse assistant took her vital signs.I sincerely wanted to thank Dr. Kocjancic and ER nurse for coming to check on my friend to make sure she was ok and let us know of updates promptly. It was busy night for sure. Also, I Wanted to thank Nurse practitioner for thorough assessment, asked the right questions to narrow down, addressed concern appropriately. and she ordered the right medication for her to help her get better and ER doctor for checking on her and monitored her vital signs. She was better afterwards. Wait time in waiting area can be long sometimes… housekeeper kept the waiting room clean.

This place was an absolute nightmare. I had to take my husband at 8am on a Saturday and it was horrific. The room he was in had sticky floors with noticeable drops of some kind of dried brown fluid all over it. There was no trash can in the room, no tissues and no remote for a TV or call button for a nurse if we were to need one. There was urine all over the bathroom floor and toilet seat and no paper towels either. IN A MEDICAL FACILITY. The staff seemed disinterested in actually helping and the doctors on call seemed VERY disengaged. After getting blood work done that was completely unnecessary and waiting almost 5 hours in the same disgusting room, he was told they would have to transfer him to Saint Vincent because Hamot did not offer the services he needed. It was a terrible waste of time and he didn’t even receive help. If you have the option, go LITERALLY anywhere else.

I cut off the tip of my finger on a slicer and caught an artery a few days ago my dad took me to hamot that's where we always go. I got there and went to triage pretty quickly when the nurse removed the paper towel I had been holding on the wound I was spraying blood everywhere. I was losing lots of blood quickly. After waiting for a couple hours I asked for some kind of pain relief like aleve and was turned down. Many people who got there after me and weren't in as bad condition were taken back before me. After 3 hours and getting very light headed I asked what was going on how much longer I will have to wait. They said it was about severity life and death which really made me mad since I sliced an artery and was about to pass out. They said it would be a 7 hour wait even though people who were much less ill than i already got taken care of. I opted to go to Millcreek community hospital and was taken care are instantly and with compassion and understanding. Hamot used to be the best place in town there are just neglectful anymore

Yesterday we were instructed to go to an ER for a cardio conversion, which was not available within a 1 hour drive of our home. We are patients of the cardiology department at Hamot so we opted to go to the Hamot ER, which is 2 1/2 hours, away from our home. We were greeted in such a friendly manner, everyone was so professional in our needs were met immediately. We were very lucky to connect with Dr. Joseph Lunn, who advocated for me as the patient. Dr. Wagle and Diane, our nurse, were all amazing . I was able to be cardio converted and sent home, looking forward to my first Christmas with my brand new granddaughter thank you to the staff for their care concern and professionalism. You made our Christmas special.

If it wasn't for this hospital, I could have died if they didn't take me seriously. The doctor who saw me the other day was up front with me and told me that my blood level was very low to a point that in a week or two I would have had a blood transfusion if I didn't die from a heart attack first. This is my go Hospital from now on. Because of them, I am never taking my health for granted anymore. Thank you for finding the issue and saving my life. I will be forever grateful to you guys.

For a schooling oppurtunity, I was required to recieve a specific pre exposure vaccine. After doing research, it had been very difficult for me to find a local medical center in the area to provide this. My doctor's office referred me to Hamot ER, and I had the pleasure of being transfered on the phone to Nurse Chris. She really went the extra mile to do extra research to help me. Thanks to her, Hamot was able to provide me with this vaccine. I very much appreciated her and the rest of the team's extra effort and research to accommodate this. I know that Nurse Chris has a very demanding role in the hospital, but seeing how she took the extra time and energy to help me speaks very highly of her as a medical professional and person.

Worst experience ever, my friend was brought in an ambulance in an emergency situation. Still they took hours and hours to just look into his situation, forget about the treatment. Such a worst and worse medical treatment in United States.

so so slow :( I know I’m not a health professional and there’s a lot that goes in to a busy ER but I can’t help but wonder why every single time I’ve been at the Hamot ER it just seems to drag along. It just doesn’t feel prompt at all

Staff is kind but the level of service is dangerously poor. Four hours in and still waiting......

Not recommended. One of this worst emergency ever. All they employees were free and available I think they were train to act busy and make us wait longer so they can get more pay checks and let us die in the waiting room and I was dying of pain still they didn’t even care to give medicine. Very poor service.

September 4, 2023. Emergency Room visit in pain from gallstones ...sat for 7 hours in er without being seen. Came back next morning and the people I had sat in the hall with the night before were just going to a room...15 hours later. This is not fabricated,it is not out of any sense of retaliation but people are waiting in the waiting room today for well over 12 hours. The nurses & workers are wonderful.
