Uncover Gettysburg's Mexican dining scene with Restaurantji's insights.
“First time at Savorhood and we spotted Latino Fusion and we are so glad we did.Incredible food! Amazing tastes with the tacos and rice bowls! I ordered the Surf and Turf rice bowl and died and went to Heaven! The other ladies that came with me ordered the Carne Asada and Vegetable Rice Bowl. We also ordered chips and Pico de gayo Salas! Muah!!! So good!!Highly, highly recommend stopping here! Excellent food!“
“The food was great, the service was friendly and the place is very clean. I had the quesabirria and guacamole with chips. Both delicious. I will definitely return on my next visit to Gettysburg. Parking at the garage on racehorse alley is $1 per hour.“
“Food was good and served at the correct temps. I had the birria tacos, my family had the chicken fajitas, the shrimp empanadas and the chicken burrito. The service was good, but very slow. Seemed almost like our server was the only one working in the establishment. The complimentary salsa was had a mango like base which my kids really liked. The prices weren't excessive; with food, drinks and tip all was slightly over $100 for the four of us. I ordered unsweetened tea due to being diabetic but they were out. Not a huge deal, I'm not above drinking water. The menu selection was large and was the usual Latin American classics. All in all a good dining experience and I would eat here again. They did have papusas on the menu which I would be interested in trying.Parking: There is a small adjacent parking area with about 5 spots reserved for this restaurant.“
“The food was the best I've had since I've moved here a few months ago. Highly recommend the sopas if it's your first time, the pork ones went great with queso. Altogether a great experience! a hole in the wall with a lovely waitress and food!“
“We spent a lot of time at the outlets requiring us to eat lunch and dinner. After xhexking out the pizza place for lunch, I needed some Mexican food instead. We had always seen this shop but never got a chance to order. I decided to order a vegetarian quesadilla and my kids got tortilla chips and salsa and also a side of guacamole. Not a single thing tasted short of outstanding. My kids generally hate Mexican food, not sure why, but they started to eat my quesadilla and eventually took it from me. I don't blame them, it was fantastic. The guacamole is freshly made to order and the salsa didn't taste generic. The chips were good, maybe a little too much salt, but that is me nitpicky. My wife wanted to order the enchiladas but since we are vegetarian, we ask about whether the beans have pork or if the rice has chicken stock but unfortunately the cooks wither couldn't understand the question or know the answer. That won't stop me from coming back for another quesadilla however. Wow, one of the best I've ever had.“
“My wife and I stopped here for lunch and we almost left because of how rough the place looked. This place doesn't have a bar either. I haven't ever been in a Mexican restaurant that didn't serve margaritas before or Corona. But when our food came out, I have to say it was the best Mexican food I've eaten in this area. We were pleasantly surprised. I would go back every week if they served Margaritas. The lunch menu was priced a little on the high side but you get what you pay for. The supper menu is too expensive for this place. So if we go back, we will go for lunch. They really need to give this place a face lift though.“
“Gettysburg is fortunate to be home to so many great Mexican Restaurants. That said, El Sangarito is hands down my favorite. The tacos are incredible and their quesadilla is the size of a medium pizza loaded with the meat of your choice, peppers, onions, avocado, and with a side of their salsa and sour cream. Their burrito makes Chipotle pale in comparison in terms of its size and flavor. The only downsides are the very limited seating and you have to walk through a laundromat to get to it. Still, you're doing yourself a disservice if you let that deter you from this authentic cuisine.“
