“I would like to do the pros first because there are a few. The building is beautiful and nicely done. Our waitress worked hard. My French toast was great and my omelette was good. The cons: I would have addressed this with the staff because it’s not fair to have complaints and just do reviews but I was with someone who never says anything and would have been embarrassed if I had. But how will a business improve if they don’t get feedback? To start, my bagel was cold and hard. Left most of it. My home fries were cold. The pancakes were cold. Our waitress did everything: took orders, delivered meals, refilled coffees (when she had time which wasn’t often), set out ketchup bottles on all the tables, cleared and wiped tables…all while another young girl stood behind the bar talking all about herself to a customer and did nothing to help. We aren’t from the area so I’m not sure we’ll have the opportunity to be back but if we do get to Erie again I’d certainly give them another try.”

“The place is pretty clean. Food is yummy and fresh. Although place is limited , you can easily find a table. This branch of Subway has recently started using green baskets if you will have your food in the dining hall.”

“We went for a friends birthday! It was very good food wise, however, I snuck up to the bar and asked about birthday celebrations and if they did anything special, she had said yes we do a brownie and asked me which table/person. The brownie was great and had a sparkler! BUT when we got our bills the birthday girl had a $7 charge for the brownie! I was very confused because I’ve never been somewhere that charged for a birthday brownie and was not told it would cost anything. Just surprising especially being they charged the birthday person. All and all it was good food but wish the staff be more informative.”

“I've been to Mexico many times and always loved the street food. This place is the closest to the food I have had in Mexico by far! Lovely people who own and run this place. I really hope they make it big! I want them around for many years to come.”

“I have been to the new location (5th and Cherry) twice since it opened and both times the food has been amazing. Staff are friendly and it’s such a cozy environment. There is often a line due to high demand but don’t be discouraged! It moves quickly. All of their pastries and pretzel rolls are delicious. 😋”

“First off this place is our go to when we go out to eat. Yesterday, we went for a birthday. Originally I called about 5 hours prior to the time we expected to be there to see if they took reservations. They said they don't on the weekends but do during the week. However, she took down my name, number and the party size. They called 15 mins prior to the time set to see if we still were coming so they could have the tables set up. Upon arriving they were super busy. They had the table all set up and ready with chips and salsa. Promptly took our drink orders as we waited for more people to show up. More people than thought showed up and they quickly were able to accommodate them to our party. They sung happy birthday at end and even did a redo as we requested whip cream in the face. ha. The waitress was absolutely amazing she got all orders correct and remembered who they went to. She also was on top of drink refills and checking in a good amount of times. Everyone was more than satisfied with their food. We spent about 1.5 hours there from start to finish. With a party of about 17 people.”

Brought our two kids and they loved playing skeeball and ar $0.25 a game it was very affordable and allowed for them to play for a good amount of time! No kids menu but plenty of good affordable food on the menu for the kids to have grilled cheese, chicken tenders, cheese pizza, etc.”

“On a Friday evening at approximately 7 PM, my wife and I went to Colao’s Restaurant with our 3 month old daughter. Our baby did not make a peep the entire time we went in to get a table. The hostess, who was exceptionally unsympathetic and rude, said she didn’t believe they could make any accommodation for our very compact stroller. She checked to see if she could stuff us in the back corner and when she was unable to she told us she had no room for us that evening. She didn’t even offer a possible wait time! As a side note there were several open tables available at the time we were standing there and they were allegedly reserved. I have a very difficult time believing they were unable to find a spot for two people and a very compact stroller the remainder of the entire evening. Apparently the “Italian” family restaurant I remembered was no longer very family oriented if there was potential to disturb the ambiance for their elegant clientele. Anyways, we called Ricardo’s and they accepted us with open arms! The atmosphere was much more welcoming and family oriented as we prefer and the staff was extremely pleasant and kind. The portions were larger and in my opinion much better for a more modest price. So if you feel like dining Italian in Erie, I would highly recommend Ricardo’s.”

“Five star rating on everything important to me: 1) Great food, 2) Great service, 3) Great down home atmosphere, 4) Great prices. Yesterday morning was my first time there. 11:30 am was a good time - not crowded. I will definitely recommend this restaurant and be back occasionally, maybe with friends.”
