I was walking past this place and the guy offered me a sample of their rice. It's like crack rice! Never had anything like it before--fried rice with fried coconut bits. It was amazing. I ended up getting dinner here and I'm so glad he stopped me and gave me a sample. Their peanut sauce is also wonderfully flavored. Will be back!!

I stumbled upon Mekatos Eatery tucked away in the hidden gem of Southern Market, and let me tell you, it's a culinary treasure waiting to be discovered! The moment I saw the sign proudly announcing "Laos and Colombian fusion," my curiosity was piqued, and I knew I was in for a unique dining experience.I decided to try the stir fry with chicken and a side order of their special crunchy rice, and I must say, it was an absolute delight for my taste buds! The combination of flavors from Laos and Colombia created a culinary masterpiece that I had never experienced before. The stir fry was perfectly cooked, with tender chicken and a harmonious blend of spices that left my palate dancing with joy. Now, let's talk about the special crunchy rice – it's a game-changer! The texture and taste were so distinct and delicious, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to my meal. It's truly a unique dish that sets Mekatos apart from the rest. The chef and cashier deserves a special mention for being exceptionally kind, nice, and funny! Their cheerful demeanor added a delightful touch to the entire dining process. It's always a pleasure to interact with staff members who go above and beyond to make customers feel welcome. And let's talk about the prices – they were more than reasonable for the quality and portion sizes provided. Mekatos Eatery offers a fantastic value for the culinary experience you receive. If you're a food enthusiast looking for something out of the ordinary, Mekatos Eatery is the place to be. I highly recommend trying their Laos and Colombian fusion dishes for a culinary adventure that will leave you craving more. Kudos to the chefs and the entire team at Mekatos – you've created something truly special!

Met this family run spot while rolling through Southern Market in Lancaster. Their crispy rice, brisket and homemade hot sauce where simply out of this world. Definitely a must stop spot. Swing by and check them out, grab a couple dishes but don't miss "Desiree's Plate", you will not regret it. Say hi to Ronald and for those of you looking for a good spice ask what the Spice Queens been putting together!

The second station we visited at Southern Lancaster food Hall. Laos/Columbian fusion drew us in-first time experiencing this one. Although a handful of offerings, they have a nice variety-from Arepas to Tacos and Hot Dog to name a few. The Gordo Hot Dog was more on the Columbian side. What makes this Hot dog special is the amount of toppings covering the Frank-Cole Slaw, crunchy onions, Mayo, Ketchup and Quail Egg. Nice appetizer that we shared and ingredients played well together. We also tried the Assazzin Sandwich. Grilled/seasoned chicken with hot sauce that gives it a nice kick. Similar to the Hot Dog had the Cole Slaw topping. One portion of hot sauce was slightly spicy and would go for two next time. Paired with a side of Fried Ride which was tasty. Service was friendly and checked in for food taste feedback. We were served by the Chef which was a nice touch. Unique flavor combos and fusion. Will be back to try other offerings.

My family and I drive to Lancaster for a day trip, we stopped here at Southern Market! Such a cute food hall place. Definitely had to try here because I am Laotian, hands down food was definitely DELICIOUS! I had the Nam Khao it's basically Lao rice salad and it had a kick of Colombian to it! It was AMAZING I ate the whole thing and their Jeow was on fire! My husband had their Gordo Hotdog he loved it! The owners super nice, would love to come here again when we're around!

Such great food! The owner is the sweetest man ever-- very honest he let me try a taste before I ordered and paid for it. Very great customer service and lovely Lao comfort food.

Amazing. They were out of what I originally wanted to order but offered samples of other things and I’m so glad. Loved the rice and chicken dish and my husband loved the fusion brisket tacos! Friendly staff and cool place!

We visited the stand inside Southern Market. We were doing our rounds to see what we wanted to eat, and the owner gave us a sample of the fried rice (Nam Khao). It was so delicious, and she was so nice, we both ended up getting our meals there, and we were not disappointed. I got the Nam Khao which came with chicken, cole slaw, and a salad. He got the tacos. 10/10 can't wait to go back. Definitely try the Nam Khao: it's Thai fusion with a nice coconut crunch.

Super friendly people and great food. Of all the places to pick from at the southern market this is it. If you can handle the heat get the Assassin chicken sandwich.
