“We have eaten here twice and enjoyed it both times. The host/server is very kind and courteous. The service is a little slow, but not too bad for freshly prepared food. The food is very good - not exactly like Indian food I have eaten at other places, but with related flavor profiles - and much better in some instances. We loved the samosa chaat on both visits: a great mix of hot and cold ingredients and very well balanced sauces. I have had the saag paneer (which tasted more of spinach than what I have eaten elsewhere and was silky smooth) and the butter chicken (succulent, with well-cooked chicken and a tasty gravy). The naan is beautifully light and puffy. We are not big eaters, and the two of us shared the chaat and the butter chicken today and were more than satisfied with the quantity. The time we ate chaat, saag paneer, and goat curry, we took food home.I find both the screen advertising the food and the talk radio distracting and irritating, but I am slowly becoming resigned to the idea that restaurants that are not fast food places will assault me with unwanted media when I would prefer to talk quietly with my partner. Fortunately, the program changed soon after our arrival. But I would rather have music if there had to be any audio at all.“

They bought freshly made dosa and naan bread to the table. The food was really tasty. The place is great for the families. We traveled from Bucks, and it was worth it.Lastly, the owners were present. They and the waitress were excellent hosts.“

“Shawarma Kebab is a small restaurant with limited seating, but the flavorful food and the way the owner welcomed us to dine in was absolutely amazing. You feel like family eating here. We ordered the loaded fries with chicken & beef-lamb combo; see picture. We also had a flavorful mint tea that contained a tincture of sweet honey. I highly recommend this place. I'm definitely coming back for another home-cooked meal. WOW to the Yumm-yumm!! ? Parking: Parking in a college town like West Chester is scarce and heavily regulated. It's even harder to find one on a Friday evening. I was lucky to find one 2 blocks away.“

“My date and I had a blast here. Our waitress Lovebreet was so sweet and knowledgeable on teaching us indian cuisine. She made great suggestions. I got the goat Tikka masala and it was divine. Also got some garlic naan and they were fantastic. Perfect crunch and amount of garlic. The owner was kind of enough to give us gulab jamun for dessert. It was like a donut dipped in a honey glaze. It was quite unique but good haha. Great food and restaurant. Would highly recommend. Thanks again guys.“

“Husband and I had an excellent lunch at Cafe Baladi. We shared the appetizer sampler; then he had one of the platters and I had the special which was a lamb and chickpea casserole/stew... The stew was so remarkable and complex with flavors of cardamom, cinnamon, and a bit of heat in a rich sauce with rice... Just amazing. I've now been trying to replicate the dish at home... I wish it was a regular item on the menu... Or the chef would share his recipe with me! Wonderful!“
