“Husband and I had an excellent lunch at Cafe Baladi. We shared the appetizer sampler; then he had one of the platters and I had the special which was a lamb and chickpea casserole/stew... The stew was so remarkable and complex with flavors of cardamom, cinnamon, and a bit of heat in a rich sauce with rice... Just amazing. I've now been trying to replicate the dish at home... I wish it was a regular item on the menu... Or the chef would share his recipe with me! Wonderful!“
“Overall the restaurant is good. The food is tasty too. The reason for the lower star is due to lack of vegetarian options, if you can call it an option. Between three of us vegetarian dining at the place, we could only get 2 options for which 1 they were able to make it vegetarian. Yes they have salad and pizza option, but if that’s what anyone thinks vegetarians eat, good luck trying to win repeat customers. I expect better.Vegetarian options: Not many options“
“I’ve been to other Cava locations, but I must say this one is the cream of the crop. Normally my order is a bit complicated, but Zaniah, Christina, and boy Joe really looked out for us. They were personable and very funny. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you again Zaniah, Christina, and Joe you guys are the best!!!“
“It's a great place to eat; you feel like you have a one-on-one chef serving you. You place your order; it is served hot filled with excellent taste and outstandingly prepared with freshness. Cost is more than fair a pleasure to eat here. The atmosphere is quiet and you feel very welcome to be here.“
“So excellent! I came here unexpectedly for lunch today, because the place that I wanted to go to was open later. My husband search where we were standing for the closest excellent lunch restaurant, and it was nearby. We looked at the menu posted outside, and the soup and beef shawarma wrap looked good to both of us. The young woman behind the counter was very welcoming to us. She explained how the restaurant ordering worked- order at the counter and she brings the food to our table. Canned beverages were by the counter. They had a great selection. The day was warm, and we sat outside. I had excellent butternut squash soup. I tried my husband's sweet potato and corn soup. This was the best soup that I had in recent memory. For my main meal, I ate the entire large beef shawarma. It contained a lot of beef and was in a tasty sauce. I would not change anything about it. I met the very friendly owner from Lebanon. Between the food, and the friendly people at this restaurant, this is the place to go downtown for lunch!“
“The food was amazing. It's gourmet style and all very appetizing. The servers were very polite and attentive. It was a cold evening but it appears some outdoor seating would be nice to take advantage of if available and heated. My only criticism is that it was very loud inside. There are acoustical solutions for restaurants that I've seen work very well for absorbing loud noise from conversation.“
“We will definitely return! They were very friendly and catered to our digestive needs. The food was amazing! We got the sampler, the mixed shawarma with lamb and beef, and the lamb gyro. The environment was a bit loud when the forced air was blowing and the families were chatting. Minimal acoustic treatment. But not entirely overwhelming. The bathroom is clean, too ? Always a good sign! We loved it!Dietary restrictions: Some dishes are gluten friendly. Unsure if the location is celiac or severe allergy friendly. But they do recommend foods without gluten and separate on the serving platter. Employees knowledgeable about dairy allergies.“
“Went with friends from out of town for dinner. Food is excellent! Place is cute and clean. Chef/owner is welcoming and accommodating. Waitress was sweet and sassy. We had a great time. Prices are reasonable and it is BYOB so you save money there, too. One of the best restaurant meals I have had outside of Philadelphia. Highly recommend! Told my kids and neighbors. We will be back!“
“Food and service were outstanding. All 3 dishes the branzino, lemon chicken, and veal shank. We also ordered the muscles and octopus Greek style. The restaurant is clean w nice decor. A bit on the more expensive side but definitely worth the price. We had a great time and our waiter was both friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. Check out their drink menu the lavender lemon drop was creative as well as a great cocktail. Opa is consistently busy so definitely reserve thru Open Table in advance. Cheers all, R and R Rachael and Rob“
“I can not give enough stars to rate our experince today. 1st of all t Joseph the owner allowed our group of 11 to come in 1 hour before opening hours. We placed our appetizers and meals the night before. ( Interesting idea) Then today when we had arrived they had us set up on the 2nd floor. Very private. Jenn and the other servers did an AMAZING job of catering to our needs as they gave us PHENOMENAL service. The appetizers went over just as expected . There was nothing left of them as the entrees were ready to be delivered to the tables. The food was AWESOME. Perfectly seasoned and the meats were very tender and delicious. Deserts were scrumptious to say the least. They have their own bakery !!!! I will tell you now if you dont give this place a chance to amaze you , well you wont be able to blame me. On a side note, the owner Joseph even came up to chat with us. What a wonderful gentleman. We had friends fro. Egypt & Armania who complimented the Chef.“
“My coworkers and I absolutely LOVE this place! All of the food is delicious and the people who work there are always so nice, accommodating and welcoming! We drive past other Greek restaurants and will willingly follow the olive tree wherever they go!“
“Friendly, clean, and delicious. I’m not a picky person, so when I saw that they finally opened an Halal spot in Franklin Mills mall, I was hype. We went here before the movies and the girls were so attentive and nice. Highly recommended. Will come back and it’s my first time!“
“Amazing service and food! Just a really wholesome, cozy place. We loved our waiter, Hector. He was so kind and had such a sweet spirit. For our birthday they brought us each a piece of cake with big sparklers in them, and they couldn't have been more excited to give them to us! This place makes you feel like family right away! We will be back again and again!“
“I love the staff and the food is excellent. My bf and family love the roast beef sandwich. I get the soul of the day every day.Parking: There is parking out front but it gets pretty packed. I park in the back parking lot. It’s a short walk.Kid-friendliness: I take my nieces with my almost every weekend. They love Jerry and Ornella.“
“This restaurant is top notch. When my close friend lived in PA, we would drive from NY and then an extra 50 minutes just to eat at this place. Everything is delicious, atmosphere is nice, prices are incredible. If I didn't live on Long Island I would dine there every day.Kid-friendliness: Very family oriented. Intimate environment.“
“Ordered a wrap online my fault for not checking upon pickup, but the bag was stapled and I was in a rush. Did not get a wrap :( it was too out of the way for me to come back once I was in my office realizing the mistake.EDIT: the support was super prompt and reached out offering store credit within hours of this review. That's really nice and appreciated.“
“We have eaten here twice and enjoyed it both times. The host/server is very kind and courteous. The service is a little slow, but not too bad for freshly prepared food. The food is very good - not exactly like Indian food I have eaten at other places, but with related flavor profiles - and much better in some instances. We loved the samosa chaat on both visits: a great mix of hot and cold ingredients and very well balanced sauces. I have had the saag paneer (which tasted more of spinach than what I have eaten elsewhere and was silky smooth) and the butter chicken (succulent, with well-cooked chicken and a tasty gravy). The naan is beautifully light and puffy. We are not big eaters, and the two of us shared the chaat and the butter chicken today and were more than satisfied with the quantity. The time we ate chaat, saag paneer, and goat curry, we took food home.I find both the screen advertising the food and the talk radio distracting and irritating, but I am slowly becoming resigned to the idea that restaurants that are not fast food places will assault me with unwanted media when I would prefer to talk quietly with my partner. Fortunately, the program changed soon after our arrival. But I would rather have music if there had to be any audio at all.“
“Thursday 8/23 - I gave the food 3 stars ⭐️ the Veggie Plate was very dry, salty and tasteless. Everything else was really good maybe a little bit too much food. Service was great and atmosphere was also great. Overall, experience was great and Salad was good.“
“Delicious and top quality food. Anything you can think of is served here and it is always superb. You must try their hummus and their beef dishes. Also, shawarma and salads are amazing. Authentic Mediterranean cuisine, served in hearty portions, and incredible customer service. Just eat here and you will surely be happy with your experience.“
“Always a great experience and welcoming atmosphere. Food is delicious. Tommy was a big help and really knows the menu, helping me get the best flavor profile going for my custom bowl. Good food, good experience, and good people. Thanks Tommy!,“
“Picked up a meal for my mother and myself. Absolutely delicious! So fresh and had a great experience talking to the owner. This is a family business. The sons are in school and the father works there most of the time by himself. They should be so proud! Got the chicken and beef pitas, the Greek salad and the falafel platter. Would recommend and definitely going back.“
“Went here today for a business lunch based on a recommendation and we were not disappointed! Everything from excellent, from the Server, appetizers and to the massive platter. We are planning on coming back very soon!! Great environment and FAST service.“
