“This was my second visit. Live out of state but when in PA this beautiful winery is on my list of places I have to visit before heading home. Great staff and an outstanding selection of wine”
“We found the winery by chance and are glad we did! The owner was so nice to talk to and the wine was good- this coming from a beer drinker! We'll definitely be back once the weather warms up. It's a beautiful place!”
“Great place to eat with a big crowd. Went here after visiting Gettysburg. Had about 80 students with us for a DC trip. They did a great job feeding us and keeping the service level up. Nice ambiance. Good job folks!”
“I’m from Orlando, so when visiting here, I just HAD to try the butterbeer and it was amazing! Great service and such a friendly environment. 11/10 recommended for anyone passing through Gettysburg!”
“First time in Gettysburg so asked the concierge in my hotel if he could recommend a restaurant with my caveat being if you only have one night in town - and you’re a foodie with a chef husband - where is THE do not miss place. And he didn’t even have to think about it. Hands down Sign of the Buck is where I should go. But he said reservations are a must so I jumped onto Resy and booked a spot for 7pm. I am SO glad I took his advice because not only was this place incredible for Gettysburg but it is one of the most memorable meals I have had in Pennsylvania…period. Charming decor, very elegant and cozy. Hostess was warm and welcoming. My server was an adorable young lady and took great care of me throughout the evening. When it comes to cocktails - the options are extensive. They ALL look so tempting. But they smoked House Old Fashioned was the winner and it was incredible. Not too smokey which suits my taste so I was a happy camper. Starters were a tough choice too - had a tough time deciding but I finally chose the roasted Brussels Sprouts which sounded incredible from the description and they were phenomenal. So often they are either undercooked and hard or over cooked and mushy. They hit it out of the park. Crispy. Tender. Perfectly cooked and flavored with a cheese - I forget the name - and balsamic reduction they were just awesome. For my entree that was a no brainer. Venison of course! I mean this place is called Sign of the Buck so I figured the venison had to be their specialty. And that was for sure the right decision because it was the most beautiful presentation and the meat was cooked to perfection - medium rare as I requested. The accompaniments didn’t look like much at first glance. Pretty but when I tried them the squash and potatoes were superb and paired beautifully with the meat. As I devoured my meal I noticed more and more people arriving - clearly the word is out that this place is where it’s at in Gettysburg. Though I was stuffed and could have skipped dessert - my waitress brought me the menu and I just figured what the hell - I’ve come this far. Let’s go all the way. Baba with Calvados and maple cream!? Yes please. I am bummed I live 4+ hours away from here or I wouldn’t hesitate to make this place my staple for date night. Can’t wait until I return to this beautiful town again and will be sure to book a reservation before I come. Pretty sure these will be tougher to come by once word gets around about this jewel of Gettysburg! Cheers to Chef and team for a memorable evening.”
“Gluten and soy-free diner here. Thank you once again to your employees who let me know that your homemade ice cream may contain soybeans. Therefore, my Siberian Husky, Juneau Elizabeth, and I each had a cup of your vanilla soft serve, and it was delicious! See for yourself.... We will head back later today for round #2!!Dietary restrictions: Soy-free, soft serve ice cream.”
“We thought it was a lovely restaurant and the food was very good with quality ingredients. The fries were a bit cold and they were whisked away and replaced with hot fresh ones right away. Great experience.”
“So we did a late lunch early dinner stop 3:45 an was given the option of chicken or chicken.(sold out on everything else) But when I say it was worth it in every way I mean it!! We got pulled chicken platters with baked beans an sides. The food was stellar and plentiful! I can not say enough good about our first experience. Whenever we are in the area we will be stopping by with our two pups.”
“Great place to eat. Love food and people. This is the best place to eat.Great prices and good variety. And great people working their. My family only eats their”
“Great hangout for locals and perfect for visiting tourist. Great food, excellent service and such a happy place. We all had something different. I split the chili (divine) and a Philly cheesestake and it was good. I would have both again.”
“Amazzzzing ice cream (we had Halloween candy flavor!) and even better was sitting outside while Steve (owner) shared a ton of history with us. Don’t bother waiting in line for the place down the street, go here!!”
“Celebrating our 34 year anniversary. Dobbins came highly recommended. Did not disappoint. Fabulous ambience. Sat in stuffed chairs by the fire place. We had a glass of champagne, some shrimp cocktail for an appetizer, steak dinners and topped with peanut butter cake. Dinner served with various homemade breads. Servers in period clothing and the building itself is history filled. Wish we could have stayed longer just to all the house floors just to take it all in. A must see and dine.”
“Popped in before heading out of town, the bartender Hailey was absolutely amazing. She was kind, informative, enthusiastic, and extremely polite. Next time I come to town I am making it a point to come right back here. Cocktails and food were top notch. Excellent place over all.”
“Cute place on the back end of the battlefield. Mozzarella sticks were really good and cooked perfectly! The chili dog was just ok. Not enough chili and cheese sauce overpowered the bun. The pizza was good, but the sauce was tangy, overly chunky, and acidic. For the price was a good value and would go back!”
“Great coffee. Relaxing atmosphere. Friendly staff. A great place to catch up with friends over a cup of coffee and a snack. Just went there for the first time but will be back!”
“Yum, just... yum. We are visiting Gburg and local family came by our bnb & brought cheesecake & cookies. We started sampling the cheesecake before dinner, and then had to go buy more quick before they closed. And we still have no leftovers. Local Gburgers, run- don't walk- to SwS! I'm only happy I don't live here b/c I'd weigh 100k pounds. Enjoy your gem of a dessert shop!”
“Wonderful coffee. Full bodied but not bitter. The barista (Brianna) was absolutely wonderful; Friendly and accommodating to my request. (Mocha Latte) It was so good, we visited there four days straight while on vacation. Some of the best coffee we have had in several states while traveling. Highly recommend.”
“Great flavor choices and they usually have something unique. Quantity of ice cream is good with fresh waffle cones. They need either an out door sink or wet wipes to clean sticky fingers.”
“We are staying in the area, wanted Italian, saw this place as driving around town, and reviewed the menu online. Came for lunch - it's spot on, authentic Italian, plenty of food, entrees come w/salad and bread. We needed to-go boxes. Sauce was excellent! Lots of options.Vegetarian options: Eggplant Parmigiano w/red sauce which I had, meatless pasta dishes, salads, appetizers.Parking: Parking is on the side and around back”
“To be fair the pizza was tasty enough. staff was friendly and order was ready before quoted time!! However was pretty disappointed to order a “Deep Dish Chicago Style” pizza and it was not even close. It was a pepperoni pan pizza with slightly thicker crust and wayy too much cheese. Nothing Chicago or deep dish about it. Was reallly excited to see that on the menu locally, but it should not be labeled that :( The pizza sauce was good (but not on top, or extra like chicago style) & we still enjoyed it but 10000% not a chi deep dish. I would have paid less to order a regular pizza with pepperoni than paying the higher price for deep dish when it was not. Photos to compare their pizza to a chicago style.”
“This place is legitimate. No frills no chain no fancy just good wholesome traditional fair. A little difficult to id as a restaurant . You have to go through the laundromat, but don’t let that fool you. very friendly people.”
“I went in here on a whim and ended up with a fresh jam-packed acai bowl. Nice selection of toppings and easy to read and order menu. Very efficient and patient customer seevice.”
“The food was great, the service was friendly and the place is very clean. I had the quesabirria and guacamole with chips. Both delicious. I will definitely return on my next visit to Gettysburg. Parking at the garage on racehorse alley is $1 per hour.”
“Food was good and served at the correct temps. I had the birria tacos, my family had the chicken fajitas, the shrimp empanadas and the chicken burrito. The service was good, but very slow. Seemed almost like our server was the only one working in the establishment. The complimentary salsa was had a mango like base which my kids really liked. The prices weren't excessive; with food, drinks and tip all was slightly over $100 for the four of us. I ordered unsweetened tea due to being diabetic but they were out. Not a huge deal, I'm not above drinking water. The menu selection was large and was the usual Latin American classics. All in all a good dining experience and I would eat here again. They did have papusas on the menu which I would be interested in trying.Parking: There is a small adjacent parking area with about 5 spots reserved for this restaurant.”
“Great value for breakfast food. I ordered the Ham and Cheese Omelet with mushrooms and I was very pleased with the quality for only $8; the service was speedy and the waiter was cordial. My friend ordered the Greek Omelet with asparagus and feta and it looked great, he said it was a good choice. I liked the small, mom-and-pop vibe of the restaurant; I would recommend this to anyone wanting a nice sit down breakfast while at Liberty Mountain Resort.”
“Most amazing burgers and fries. Everyone was so nice. We enjoyed our visit. Highly recommend them if you're in the area. I wish we had this place in CA. I will define back next time we are in the area.”
“We did the high tea event. We enjoyed it. Rated service and food as 4 star only because it wasn't the usual restaurant food and service - once each table was served its course there was little need for a server to return.”
“Rita's is located in a perfect area behind O'Roarks and has a small parking lot that belongs to the restaurant. There is a parking lot across the street that I recommend because there is no street parking due to a fire 2-3 years as they rehabilitate the building. The parking lot across the street has always been a tow zone. As for Rita's, they offer everything that every location offers and they are nice no matter how long the line. They have over the last years run out of ingredients but that is just a time to try something new. It depends on our mood if we come here or go to a local ice cream shop (which I mostly prefer). During the main tourist season expect a long line for your tasty treats.”
“We had a great time here. We went on a weekday and there were still enough people there to make it feel cozy instead of empty. Service was fast and food was excellent. The alcohol, of course, was delicious as well. Can’t wait to go back!”

“We come to Gettysburg twice a year and always try to stay somewhere new every time. We are so pleased with our stay at Cashtown inn that we will start staying there at least once for our annual visits. I can't say enough about how accommodating the owners and staff were and very knowledgeable of the history of the area and ready to share with you all they know. Of course there is a bit of haunted stories of the building and area, so no matter whether you're coming for the haunts or coming to relax, this is the best place to stay. By far.”
