We ordered a sandwich platter for our wedding party to snack on while we got ready this past December. They got to the venue easily and quickly and the food was great! The sandwiches garnered the approval of all the old cranky men and that’s no easy feat.

I’ve been going to Mancuso’s since the 70’s.My GM and my brother and I would take the train up to visit my Aunt. We would walk down to buy groceries, and we’d always get Scamorza (we called what sounded like Scumoats) with a salt bath! I still go frequently for it! I can’t wait to try the Hoagies! I met Jake and he will surely pass on Phillip’s legacy!Great place!

For anyone who may think time travel impossible here’s your challenge. Step inside Mancuso’s and you will be transported back in time. The shop has changed little in decades. It still has a simple old world charm, still boasts the same incredible Italian cheese and specialty food selection that brought my Grandmother here. I visit as often as I can for supplies and for the memories. Don’t miss this treasure of South Philly culture and cuisine.

Incredible hoagies made fresh to order. They also make mozzarella in house and it’s delicious. Highly recommend for any Italian meats and specialty hoagies.

Great local shop, very high quality pastas and nice deli selections. I come all the time for sandwich stuff and always find something new and delicious to try there.

Sandwiches lack ingredients. Macaroni salad lacks flavor.::update::In response to the owner's rude response..."Ingredients" are real--not sure why you added quotation marks. When I order a sandwich that has bread and 5 things in it, but receive bread with 3 things in it, something is lacking.I notice you did not refute the statement about your macaroni salad lacking flavor--kudos on that.I'm sure your fresh cheeses are great.Cheers.

This shop is a case where (dare I say) new blood made a neighborhood staple even better than it was before. Mancuso's was always THE cheese shop on Passyunk. The new owners made all the right upgrades while keeping the shop's integrity. Don't sleep on the olive salad - it's likely the best you'll ever have.

I take pride in the fact that I've tried damn near every "best" hoagie in this city. and I, like many, have had a top 5 list that hasn't changed for years...until now. Mancuso's "Old Italian" Hoagie has actually just taken my spot for #1 as a matter of fact. The quality of ingredients is just light years ahead of most other shops here in Philly.

Passing by on a Sunday morning figured I'd stop in to see if they had mozzarella. Shop was fairly small, but we were the only customers in there. Upon entering we were greeted by two young men who asked if we needed help-seemed they were prepping for sandwiches, cutting lettuce, onions, etc. I told him we were looking for mozzarella for pizza and he offered a nice, roughly one pound block-perfect. We also noticed they had hoagies, so we ordered an Italian to go; it was delicious. Salami, ham, and prosciutto, all sliced to order. The roll was perfect, would definitely stop back. One thing to mention, I'm not so sure this is a cheese shop, more of an Italian specialty shop. They had a lot of imported goods, good quality, and prices were reasonable. Reminds me of some stores I would frequent growing up-they're keeping it old school.
