The brisket cheesesteak was good, don't get me wrong, but this place has been called the "best barbecue in the city". As good as it is, I have had better. If the brisket cheesesteak had cheese on the inside (not just on top) and some barbecue sauce brushed on or something it'd probably be way better, it was just really dry. Still a great experience, wouldn't go back for the brisket cheesesteak though.

Mike's BBQ is Philadelphia BBQ. Out of all the BBQ spots in Philly, Mikes BBQ tops the charts in quality, flavor, atmosphere, and service. It's not only the BBQ thats outstanding here, Mikes's brisket cheese steak is next level. Packed to the brim with a pound of tender brisket, beautifully proportioned with sautéed onions, and smothered over the top with Cooper Sharp cheese, Mike's cheese steak is unmatched. 11/10 for this hole in the wall.

My friend recommended this BBQ joint. Honestly, the food is nothing special. Had the brisket and the collards. Both were bland and lacked any flavour. While waiting for my order to get ready, I saw a short white cook who kept scratching himself all over his body like he had some kind of skin disease. What's worse is that this guy didn't bother to wash his hands in between his scratching fits. The off-putting image of the cook killed my appetite! I only had a couple of bites and threw away the rest.

Waited 55 mins for 1lb of brisket. Asked for bbq sauce, got no bbq sauce. The place was not busy. The cook was socializing in his dirty chefs shirt with customers instead of getting the orders out. Brisket may be good but this is no way to run a

I travel every other week and try the best BBQ places around the country. This week I visited Philadelphia and went to Mike's BBQ. I got there at 3pm and first thought that it was closed. Luckily, I was wrong and it was open. It doesn't look very inviting from the outside, but it's absolutely worth it to go inside. I had pork, brisket and bacon potato salad. The brisket was absolutely delicious. Moist and very flavorful. No BBQ sauce needed. I'd eat a pound of that and take another one home. Next comes the pork. I have to say that I like the texture and it's good together with some BBQ sauce. On its own, it's a bit bland just like at a lot of other places. But I've been to places with more flavorful pork, even without BBQ sauce. The bacon potato salad sounded very exciting. Who doesn't love bacon. To my surprise there wasn't any bacon on it, which was a bit disappointing. With that said, it was still close to perfect. As of today, this is my second favorite BBQ place in the country, mainly due to the brisket. Mike's BBQ is a must visit when in Philly.

New to Philly and was lucky enough to experience this gem. The food is hands down the best bbq I’ve had. The atmosphere is laid back with great service. 10/10 recommend.

I was told this place has the best food- although the food wasn’t bad by no means it was not nearly as close to the best. I got the pulled pork sandwich, Korean bbq wings, and the brisket sandwich. The wings tasted really good I would say they are a solid 8/10 and they were probably the thing on their menu. But the pulled pork sandwich lacked flavor it tasted kind of bland but it was juicy. The brisket sandwich was probably the worst thing I got it was very extremely dry and didn’t have much of a taste- I would say the pulled pork was def better because atleast the sauce on it made it a little better. But the restaurant looked very clean and the staff was friendly. I might come back only for the wings but I will not repeat the pulled pork or brisket sandwich.

Heard a lot of great things about the food. The brisket and pulled pork were very good. The korean wings were good. The chicken was very dry. The sides were terrible as was the alabama white sauce. The beans were so thick and coagulated. Contained so much meat. This would have been better if it contained no meat and there was more liquid. They need to tell tell you beans are with meat. The potato salad had absolutely no flavor. The coleslaw was mustardy but had so much spice you could not taste anything else. I have had Alabama white sauce before and was nice and tangy. This was runny and so spicy hot you could not taste anything else. The banana pudding was ok, but the thick layer of caramel on top made it too sweet. Overall the brisket and pulled pork was good but not better than other barbecue restaurants we have eaten at.
