“This is one of my favorite places in Philly. It's the kind of place you would have gone 50+ years ago to get ethnic foods that you can now find at most supermarkets... but not like this. The kielbasa and kabanosa (Polish Slim Jim in the middle of the picture) are fantastic. Also of note...the people working here are some of the nicest you'll ever meet. Happy to help, eager to chat, and seem to really enjoy what they're doing.“
“Vegetarian options: They have two vegetarian pierogi (the potato, the sauerkraut) and a vegan pierogi (potato with applesauce instead of sour cream).Parking: This is Centre City Philadelphia, there won’t be a lot of parking for automobiles. You can cycle though (streets are bumpy but many people do).Kid-friendliness: Friendly“
“Shared a delicious lunch at Dinner House today. We thoroughly enjoyed the kielbasa, pierogies, potato lakes, and beet salad. The restaurant is quaint and service was excellent. We were served a lot of food for a reasonable price. The fare is traditionally Polish and reminded me of the meals I ate growing up in a Polish household. Very highly recommended!“
“My favorite place to visit in Philly. It feels exactly like being in a corner store in a Polish town. Everything is always fresh, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the place is always clean, and the prices are fair. Some things to try: obviously, the kielbasas, smoked rib, "Morski" cheese, Almette cream cheese spread, pate, smoked mackerel, brine herring (look up recipes on how to prepare it), Wedel chocolate, pączki, - I could go on and on. Best to bring a shopping bag with wheels because you will want to try everything :-)“
“I have been patronizing M & M restaurant for many years. Marion and Margaret are the owners and operators of this little neighborhood eatery, a true husband and wife operation, the food is delicious and the service is great. It can get crowded especially on weekends, it a hole in the wall in the heart of Port Richmond and worth it.“
