Big foodie here. I absolutely love the food here. I ordered the birria burrito, and it was delicious, i’ve gotten the Burrito Ahogado, which was also so good. Such a low-key spot, but worth the short wait.

This place was delicious! The birria tacos were very tasty and flavorful! Also had chicken and fish tacos which were tasty as well. Not sure what the other reviewers got that led to poor reviews. One of the best halal Mexican places I’ve had and I’ll be coming back again!!

Wow this is the second time I've had to eat at this used to be hotdog stand - NEVER again! Last time I had the chicken nachos - really expensive and really BAD! This time it was the birria tacos really expensive and really BAD- everything was coated and soaked in a greasy orange birria broth- yuk then he gives you a full container -at least two full cups of this nasty oily orange liquid ... for what? I have no idea - I guess it's to dip the tacos in - yuk it was disgusting- $15 for three oily greasy tacos- I was starving so I choked them down- I'll never be that hungry again- go to Taco Bell if you're looking for expensive trashy low quality food- save your money on Tacos Texas! It was the worst food I can ever remember having to eat

Got the birria tacos, flavor was good but they were not crispy at all. They used red onions instead of white which overpowered the beef flavor. Consume was great

Randomly stopped in Philly for business and was staying close. Got chicken tacos and loved them. More of a pick up spot and the food/service was great!

I would give this place a solid 3.5, this is a small place with a few seats for dining in. We got birria tacos, beef tacos, birria burrito and chicken nachos. I think the favorite for me would be the chicken nachos, though they were very light on cheese the chicken was flavorful and the chips were fresh and crunchy. Hot sauces and the birria broth are an absolute must if you're looking for spice and flavor.

Best steak and chorizo tacos in Philly! Reminded me of the tacos I used to get in San Diego a few years ago. Very flavorful and authentic!

I really wanted to like this place despite the bad reviews on google. Especially since this is the only halal Mexican restaurant in philly that I know of. Unfortunately the google reviews are accurate. Anyone that says food is good here simply is not a foodie or just likes bland food. I ordered the birrira tacos and the chorizo quesadillas (beef). Usually I'll order way more food but due to being skeptical I decided to take it slow and order as I go. Well, birrira tacos were a complete let down. To begin, the tacos just looked very unappealing. The meat was so so bland. I can tell they added some "nihari" masala to the meat and called it a day. The consommé looked appealing despite lacking the layer of fat but it just tasted like water. The 3 tacos were served with a roasted pepper and some large rings of onions and side salsa. Taking a bite from the onions and drinking the salsa is what made it edible. Also, there were some cucumbers, turnips and lime. The chorizo quesadilla was better. BUT I don't know what tortilla they used because it was super THICK! Even though it was edible it still was not worth the price. Customer service was fine. It's a small place with few chairs so mostly people do take out. Unfortunately I don't see myself going there again to try other items.

I'm gonna call it 5 stars after one visit. It WAS a shakey start with a bit of feeling ignored (tho that might be language barrier and random chance) but after the first 2 minutes, it was AMAZING. The service turned out to be great and the food was spectacular.... This is not cheap cheap taco stuff. You're paying a fair price for great food... Ambiance = comically none; it still has the Hot Dog Factory branding all over the walls. LOVE. IT.

Got biria tacos and the tacos flautas with potatoes--can't recommend enough! Super fresh, simple ingredients and man those salsas they include are amazing. Very cute small operation, they cook it right when you order and are really friendly and helpful explaining the menu. Perfect to grab a quick dinner or lunch-- definitely a step up from the typical $15 price point you'd expect. I did takeout but they have six seats for dine in out the counter.
