The food here was mediocre at best. The deviled eggs had little flavor, the friend pickles tasted frozen and, most bizarrely of all, my pumpkin cream bucatini pasta had the consistency of paste and tasted as bad. I barely ate half of it. The staff is very friendly and the drinks were good, but my meal was not enjoyable.
A friend turned me on to Tavern because I mentioned liking piano bars. They are so rare, so I was very pleased to share this experience. The atmosphere is lively and sophisticated compared to karaoke. Patrons who choose to sing are entertaining in the same way that going to a live stage performance is entertaining. We love intimate spaces! I'm so glad we came here for Valentine's Day! It's exactly what I was looking for. The food was amazing and Jeff are server made us feel welcomed and comfortable. We went up to the piano bar after dinner thinking we were just going to have one drink, but ended up staying because the pianist that night was lively and engaging. The music he was playing was kind of showtuney and fun. We will definitely be back :)
