I always loved this bar. Went to Duquesne in the early 90's. I lived exactly across the street on 8th street for a year. This was before cell phones. We took our cordless house phone there, kept it on the bar, perfect reception. Jim and Rachel were always the bartenders for many years. They were awesome. Loved that we always got 23oz drafts for a buck fifty. 25 cent per game of pool, free darts. But that was early 90's. Still went there after I graduated on trips out to the Burgh...read full review

Down and dirty. Shots poured in plastic condiment cups. Graffiti on (literally) every surface. It's cheap. Decent drafts. It doesn't smell, which is frankly surprising. I get the impression it gets pretty rowdy at night, just by the evidence. I also get the impression staff doesn't put up with any hassle.This isn't exactly a place for a first date, but it's kind of cozy in it's own weird way.
