We are new to Pittsburgh. We walked over to this local Station Square District to explore. We had seen the Gandy online and decided to check it out. What a cool historical spot! We actually went two evenings in a row the food and service was so good. Amanda and Sammie took great care of us each night. The Gandy Dancer is one of those timeless Pittsburgh experiences that is tied to its history. The views of the adjacent Grand Concourse from the bar area are beautiful. We had not been here in several years and we made a point of stopping over the Christmas holidays with visiting family and had a great experience - almost like visiting an old friend. We came for a pregame party before the college basketball tournaments. What a great saloon next to the beautiful old train station. This saloon is very nice and warm, not a dive. There are very nice tables and booths with a bar. For the event, hot trays of food were delivered for a buffet line, but the food, tho very good, was not plentiful.
