“A high end, high priced, and high quality experience. The seafood options are wonderful. Black cod with a hint of heat and spice or a hong kong style sea bass or some delectable scallops. The shellfish tower was light on content for $80 but made up for with good flavor.Cocktails can be hit or miss and I found them to be fairly weak.Service was top notch and our hostess was very knowledgeable and friendly.“
“Senyai has some amazing Thai food. I really love their Pad Medmamuang. The crispy chicken in roasted chili sauce with cashews give it a superior taste. It’s absolutely delicious and if you like chicken, you should give it a shot. Their Grapow Kai Krop is also one of my favorite. I have tried grapow in other Thai restaurants but senyais just taste better. This time I tried their red curry with tofu. The tofu was so soft and delicious. The curry was okay. They also have the patio open which makes senyai one of the few places in Pittsburgh to allow outdoor seating even in winter. Overall, the place is cute. I recommend making reservations over weekend as it gets really busy.“
“Overall, we had a mixed experience at the restaurant. While the service was good, there were some issues with the food quality control during our visit. The burrata was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the cheeseburgers. However, we were disappointed to find that the capers in the steak tartare had a moldy odor to them, and the Lobster Mac was overly salty, making it inedible. Despite these setbacks, Manager David promptly addressed the issues, which we appreciated.“
“Me and my wife absolutely love this place. Fresh seafood and lots more. We stop in on Fridays for their Icelandic cod fish sandwich. Top notch. Friendly staff as well. Alot of other options are available. I had the soft shell crab sandwich last time. There's seating available upstairs to enjoy or can be packaged for takeout.“
“Such an awesome restaurant. Had a great experience. The Taiwanese beef noodle soup was fantastic. Same with the wonton soup; never had better wontons. We also got beef fried rice and string bean chicken. All of it was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. Thanks for the great lunch!“
“I’ve been coming here for about 7 years now, and it quickly became my favorite restaurant from the first meal! I cannot say enough good things about this place. Penny, the owner and main face you see here, is truly a godsend. She is so so sweet, always sure to accommodate for dietary preferences, always so joyful, and now remembers our entire families order before we say a word ! Now for the food, truly the best food I’ve ever had in my life. We visit Thai places in every city we visit and other Thai places in Pittsburgh, NOTHING compares to Pennys Thai !! The curries & soups are so rich, the fried rice and noodles dishes are cooked to perfection, and the Thai tea with coconut milk is phenomenal. Don’t skip on the mango sticky rice for dessert! Our whole family goes for every birthday, holiday, and celebration now and she knows us as the “vegans from Ohio”Thanks for the meals & memories Penny !Vegetarian options: Little Bangkoks menu is so diverse, and most of the dishes can be modified to be made vegan/vegetarian.Dietary restrictions: My family is vegan and we are always accommodated, there are sooo many menu modifications that can make most meals vegan !Kid-friendliness: The staff has never turned their head up at my two little boys at dinner, even when they have been not so quiet.“
“Kicking myself for not driving up the hill sooner to this incredible Pittsburgh gem! The food: outstanding and fresh. The drinks: Delicious. The glassware: so fun. The owner and staff: incredible people. We visited on the last night of the season before the owner makes the trek home for some well-deserved time off for the holidays. (They'll be back in Feb). We had lovely conversations with the staff and other bar patrons. It's a lovely cozy space and the perfect environment for talking to strangers. There are some beautiful photos on the wall used as conversation starters from the owners travels. I tried the pickle martini and some of the house-made wines, all were so tasty. The food blew me out of the water. The Iberian plate was a perfectly curated mix of the most delicious meats, cheeses, olives, kimchi, etc. We got lucky that day as the owner had prepared her famous lamb. She slices it thin and serves it with a generous portion of pita bread and house made dips including tatziki and red pepper hummus. I'm dreaming of eating and drinking here again and can't wait to become a regular.“
“The fish was huge & falling off the plate. I don't think I've ever eaten anywhere that they didn't forget to bring something out...like ranch or mayo, but it didnt happen here. You get a lot of food for a very reasonable price. The place was packed the whole time we were there. All the staff were nice & friendly. Definitely worth a trip to South Hills!“
“"Cambodican" is a Pittsburgh gem!My last visit I ordered shrimp rolls as an appetizer. The shrimp are wrapped around skewers then fried.Six shrimp rolls per order. The fresh shrimp, crispy coating and delectable "Moon Sauce" accompaniment will be the BEST appetizer you've ever bought for $5.00 and one of the best starters EVER!For my entree I ordered tilapia over white rice, or as the menu joking lists it "worthless white," with broccoli and carrots.I don't know how the restaurant does it, but the rice is ALWAYS cooked to perfection. Besides white, they also serve fried rice and brown rice. You can choose the rice you prefer. The tilapia is fresh and moist EVERY TIME glazed with an umami sauce. If you like your sauces less sweet just tell them. They really cook to satisfy the customer's taste buds.Have you ever ordered a stir-fry or other dish with vegetables and they're served as if the restaurant forgot to cook them? LOL!I order the broccoli and carrots as "soft," and they have NEVER failed to forget. The "moon sauce" is served on the side. The first time I ordered this dish I ordered two tilapia filets.Talk about a "Belly Buster!"It's a good thing I was going straight home because there were leftovers and I'm not a minimalist eater.I order one tilapia filet if I'm ordering from "Cambodican" for a meal while I'm working. The tilapia entree is truly one of my favorites at any restaurant. If I wasn't too lazy to go outside and wipe the four inches of snow piled on top of my car I'd drive to "Cambodican" right now!!The family that owns the restaurant are extremely customer focused and amazingly accommodating. The father is a true "Jokester." He loves interacting with customers. The mother is super friendly and a fabulous cook. The son always accommodates my every food whim. The daughter is engaging and has the most adorable little son, who scampers around the restaurant bringing joy to everyone around him. There's a fast food restaurant one block from "Cambodican" where I occasionally buy a vegetarian burger with fries and a drink when "Cambodican" is closed. The mediocre meal (room temperature burger, cold fries and flat pop) costs $13.00.THE SPECTACULAR TILAPIA, RICE AND VEGETABLE ENTREE AT "CAMBODICAN" COSTS ONLY $10.00 (a couple bucks more if you want two filets)!!!I just might call "Tony Williams Car Service" and treat myself to a chauffeured driven ride to "Cambodican." LOL!P.S.Don't forget to order one of "Cambodican's" decadent desserts!Dietary restrictions: Staff will cook food according to your directions.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible restaurant.“
“Great experience at Alihan's today! My friend and I ordered the iskander kebab and Turkish falafel. We really liked them both! The complementary bread is so soft and chewy. The ambience strikes a nice balance between classy and comfortable. We learned from the staff as they closed out for the evening that they had been understaffed. They were so pleasant and attentive that it didn't show! I highly recommend Alihan's for an all around positive experience.“
“Went there for Valentines Day.....first time there. Very quaint place. French Onion soup was delicious as was the Halibut. The service was spectacular and we did not feel rushed at all. The lemon sorbet was a nice touch to cleanse the pallet. We will be back.....hungry.“
“One of the best fried food in town. And I’m talking about this specific branch. The workers are super friendly. I’ve been in Pittsburgh for about 5 years and I can finally say that I found my spot for fried chicken. Their grilled chicken is dope and if you’re into grilled chicken wings then you must try theirs. I highly recommend it! Bang for your buck!“
“This place is awesome! If you're looking for some fried fish and fried chicken that will blow your balls off, you've found the right place. I've had their chicken salad too and it's a yinzer masterpiece. Sure, I've had their gyro too and it wasn't a 10 out of 10 but this is the FISH and CHICKEN Boss not Mike and Tony's. Don't be a potato, pull you're head out of your rear end and order some fried deliciousness“
“Read the mini bio/mission statement of young Luke Wholey at the front of the restaurant; so charming and somehow makes you feel personally connected. The food we ordered was cooked very well with great freshness, flavor and seasoning. The fish and oysters were excellent. We had the unexpected opportunity to meet and speak with R. Wholey who was very generous with his time in answering questions about the history of the family business. What a treat!Personally observed LW with a broom in hand and doing a quick clean of the stairs then also acting as greeter and host as guests came in. It was our first visit, hopefully not the last, and I hope the restaurant continues to have success and longevity much like the related Wholey's fish market and grocery store down the block.“
“Probably the only complain I can have is the seats are sooo tight and close to other tables ( depends on where you get a table). I felt uncomfortable sitting so close to others next to me but we made a joke about it and decided to go with the flow!Drinks were fantastic ( I loved the dirty martini twist) and oysters were fantastic tooo! BF got a gumbo dish and liked it.We also got the banana bread pudding for desert which was very delicious.Service was good and they had live Jaz music. Definitely recommend!FYI, it’s LOUD! does not bother me tho.“
“I love this place...quality Italian cuisine w excellent service. The atmosphere is pure classy italian...grest service, wonderful bar, and thoughtful menu. Always consider the daily specials as the chef is fantastic, and creative...you won't be disappointed. I'm very confident that this is the best restaurant in the South Hills.“
“We tried this place for the first time last month and it did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and the service was great. We didn't have a reservation but they sat us in the bar area so I guess I would most likely make a reservation next time . I ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was huge ! Also very good . Very generous portions for sure . Can't wait to go back“
“Amel's is top of the line Mediterranean cuisine and my favorite go-to for baba gannouj. They have an extensive menu (including American fare) and always have several dinner specials. My favorites: stuffed eggplant, mazze platter, tabbulee, grape leaves and lamb shish kabob. The beet salad is excellent. Their seafood specials are always fresh and delicious! The swordfish kabob is outstanding if it's on special. Entrees include a stellar Amel's salad and warm pita bread. There's a separate bar with patio seating and a small bar in the dining room. Embellishing a great dinner is a warm and colorful ambiance of many hanging lamps, and the romantic mural on the wall will captivate your imagination! I've enjoyed dining here for years, and it offers good service and a moderately priced menu. Amel's is one of the few restaurants where you can enjoy a late dinner or small plates and cocktails. They are open until 11 pm Monday through Saturday. If you are looking for a big hit for a party try the mazza platter. I thoughtful friend added it to my birthday party menu. It contains, the dips, taboulee, artichoke hearts, stuffed grape leaves and pita. It can also be also vegan friendly and gluten-free, and everyone loved it!“
“My mom, my son and I came to Merchant on Friday (2/16) night. Merchant Oyster is pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty...pretty good.We sat upstairs and our waiter was great! Really friendly and welcoming. He had a lot of patience chatting with my son and that means a lot because my son is very talkative. ?The vibe at Merchant is great. It's eclectic and warm and welcoming. The food was awesome. The warm lobster roll with butter was heavenly. And the crab cake sandwich was so fresh and flavorful. The plain mac and cheese was good. It's definitely a nice option for kids. I recommend trying the potato salad. It was crisp and refreshing making it a nice accompaniment to the seafood. We'll definitely be back.“
“Consistent food quality, which is pretty good.Consistent wait time (usually 5 minutes longer than told).Price wise, they are on the higher end of average, but as stated....consistent.This place is in the regular rotation of take out for me, so no complaints.“
“We were in the area for a Pittsburgh Penguins game, but we're from Northwest Ohio. This was the BEST hibachi place we've ever eaten at! The owners took great care of us and they are so proud of their restaurant and 29 years in business. I wish we lived closer so that we could become regulars!“
“We stopped in for dinner and were very impressed with the cruise. My fiancé and I love tasting different cultures. Everything came out hot and perfect. Staff was so kind and gracious and even gave us a few free treats to take home. Thank you guys and gals -would recommend to anyone. Please note there is a small sitting area, but it is the perfect spot.“
“Some of the best food I've ever tried. The service was amazing I didn't know what to try and the waiter gave us some options and they were amazing. The restaurant is very nice inside to and very clean the vibe was awesome. I will definitely be coming back soon. Best restaurant I've tried in Pittsburgh!!“
“We come here all the time to eat and buy the freshest seafood in Pittsburgh! The menu changes so we are always trying something new and deliciousDietary restrictions: Plenty of naturally gluten free optionsParking: They share a free parking lot with Bar Marco but if that is full pretty easy to get a street spot in the evening for dinner“
“Had an amazing meal! As expected the starters (caviar deviled egg), amuse bouche, main courses (aged strip, wild mushroom fettuccine) , and sides (crab cake, potatoes) were all perfect.Since I was so focused on deciding on those, the other parts were an afterthought to me. And I’m glad, cause that made them my favorite part! The bread (sourdough with chive garlic butter), salad (Roasted pear and goat cheese), drink (rum, pineapple, green chili!) and dessert (angel food grilled cheese) all have been stuck in my head since.Service was top notch, and nothing beats the view“
