I originally was not going to review, but after reading the correspondence again between the owner of this business and myself, I feel the need to warn others about using her business. I reached out to Le Cupcake Shoppe on Instagram bc I live right around the corner and was wanting to order a cake for my daughter. I went to the website and it stated custom order cakes start at $36. The owner was so incredibly condescending to me when I inquired about pricing, I was beyond taken aback. I am an ardent supporter of small businesses, but after how rudely I was treated with no genuine apology or remorse, I could not recommend this business less. The back and forth was extensive, and she continued to double down and be completely unprofessional. I was shocked at her unwillingness to apologize for being rude or take accountability. She continually made assumptions and was aggressively rude. There are so many great cake shops in the area who are kinder- Party Cake Shop and Potomac Bakery to name a few. When I shared my negative experience, a ton of others commented! Sharing what they sent me as well.

She also makes gluten free cakes and cupcakes, which are hard to find and they taste just like regular cake! If you give them a design for a cake that you want, they do exactly what you ask for! Her themed cakes for my daughters birthday parties are unmatched. Not only is Alex professional, over the years she’s become a wonderful family friend. The family atmosphere, attention to detail & quality of her cakes with Alex & her Mom is what brings me back every time! I can’t say it enough but this bakery truly speaks volumes with the hard work and dedication they bring to always making each and every customer feel so special when it comes to making events in their lives one of the happiest with their amazing cakes & cupcakes!

This vendor never once explained her policy. Never once asked for a deposit. Never once asked me to sign a contract or talk in the Shoppe. She claims that because the cake was simple she didn't see the need. She decided to cancel my cake 3 weeks before my wedding because I asked to pay a deposit and and the rest the day of. Never once did I say I wasn't going to pay her for the cake. But just as it's in her right to be paid it is well within my right to ask that the cake is what I wanted before spending money on it. Again I would of signed a contract, paid a deposit, given her a credit card to hold. But she did not ask for any of that. This is an example of poor communication.EDIT: Also to note the most recent reviews below mine speaking of how amazing this shop is are directly from her friends in the business. And conveniently they were written right after my review even though prior to my issue the last few reviews were MONTHS apart. Good unethical practicing. You’re proving my point.And she keeps trying to get my review taken down because I’m telling the truth and not paying my friends to write good reviews.

Le Cupcake Shoppe is truly amazing! I will not get my cakes from anywhere else. You must taste all her mini cupcakes they are all so delicious. My only problem is problem is trying to decide what flavor I love the most. Trust me you will not be disappointed. ?????
