This was an Oakland institution. I ate there 2 month ago and it was as good as always. I went back this evening and found it closed - permanently. A unique place, low key, comfortable, great food. A real loss for the Pitt and Oakland community.

Never had Rendang before but i don't think it's supposed to taste like teriyaki beef jerky. 10 bux for the smallest crab spring rolls that i don't think even had crab in them.

This is a great little spot with outstanding food and the menu is diverse enough that I always have trouble deciding what to get.

Many unique selections. I usually get the gado-gado salad with peanut dressing. Always good very consistent. Prices are reasonable.

So many vegan options! Easy to veganize some dishes as well.Online ordering was easy. To make a dish vegan (if possible) select “vegan” from the drop down menu when you click on the dish you want. Not all dishes can be made vegan.I’ve had the pad Thai several times so today I wanted to try something new.The Burmese tea leaf salad was incredible. Make sure to select “vegan” if you need to. It’s made with fish sauce and little shrimps otherwise. It reminded me of coleslaw. I loved the consistency and the taste. I could have eaten the whole thing myself! The vegan superfood green curry was good. There was a warning label on it that says it’s very spicy and the spice level can’t be adjusted. It honestly wasn’t very spicy. Maybe a 3 or 4 out of 10. I wasn’t crazy about it. I like eggplants in green curry and there wasn’t any in this dish. I opted for the addition of tofu because I really like the tofu here. I also swapped coconut jasmine rice for the white rice based on the suggestion of another review. Good idea. Worth the extra charge. The picked salad was ok. Not good, not bad. Glad I tried it to try something new but wouldn’t order it again. It’s already vegan and you can select a small or large size. The jasmine iced tea was refreshing. They have soy milk for Thai iced coffee and tea. I wanted to try these but can’t handle the caffeine.Dietary restrictions: Vegan options

Hands down, the best food in Pittsburgh. I ate there regularly when I lived in the burgh and went back on recent trip with my kids (12 &16). My kids are used to a variety of foods as we live in Seattle. Their reviews were "suburb" (from the 12 yr old who ordered a veggie dish) and "the best food we had on the whole trip" (16 yr old who ordered tofu). I see lots of comments in here about it not being "authentic enough"-- sheesh guys, you are in Pittsburgh!! Pittsburgh. Ron is a lovely dude (owner) and anyone thinking of stopping by should stop "thinking" and just go enjoy some stunning food.Make sure you get the samosas, I dream about them.

Tofu pad thai was spot on (and very big portion), as was the coconut cake, truly amazing.

The menu had a limited selection with about 2-3 dishes from each southeast asian cuisine. The noodles were decent but was definitely Americanized and not authentic. The satay was quite disappointing as the chicken was in huge chunks and cooked regularly instead of the authentic Malaysian way which should turn out flavorful from the grill. The peanut sauce was also too thick and sweet, lacking a lot of the flavors I expected.

Haven't been back for a few years as I moved away, but this place is great. The Burmese semolina cake is a standout, as is the roti. Prices are on the higher end for Pittsburgh, but the ambiance and service is good. Menu items vary in terms of quality; look at reviews for the standouts. Thai food is not the star here.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. Amazing authentic food at great prices in a cozy atmosphere. Have been going here since I was a kid and it doesn’t disappoint.

This place is special. Fish cakes, roti canai, samosas are all amazing to start. Honestly, everything that I have had here is good. Pork curry is probably my favorite, but I haven’t tried everything. Plenty of great drink options. Amazing staff. Cool interior. For its price, maybe my favorite restaurant I’ve ever been to. Really really good.

Average; over hyped if not overrated. The menu is a hodgepodge of dishes, some flavorful but most are Americanized versions (adulterations) of notable cuisines. It’s an eatery without a cultural culinary identity despite the ads about “Asian”… BTW there is NO such thing as Asian cuisine or Asian food, just like there is NO such thing as European cuisine or European food!!!There are better places to get truly authentic Thai food. The Tod Mun (fish cake) simple Thai dish is nothing more than fish paste mixed in thick dough??. The Pad Thai is unremarkable? There is no difference between what they are calling Indonesian and Malaysian satay They actually taste like the horrible Americanized sweet-very lightly spiced skewers, instead of a savory spiced Indonesian or of the delicately seasoned Malaysian. The so-called Java fried rice is nothing like the Nasi Goreng the Indonesians are famously known for.No there is nothing Singaporean here, except of the curried noodles that is hardly Singaporean.Perhaps the credit to this place is the handful of Burmese dishes, recommended by a colleague with that cultural background.1.Mohinga - a very flavorful fish broth with great goodies (mussels, shrimp, fish, roasted split peas/lentils, squash and other veggies).??2. Belanchan- aromatic flavorful eggplant with shrimps??BEWARE: their calculation of tips includes tax. ??????

Delicious sauces, impressive variety. Beef prepared in way easier to cut than el dente veggies - perfect.
