“I visited the beautiful city of Punxsutawney, PA over the weekend. I was a little hungry and was told this is the place all the locals go. So, off to Punxy Phil’s Family Restaurant I went hoping for a good, down home meal. It was easy to find & easy to park, big ol’ parking for sure. I was greeted quickly by the hostess, who seated me at a table (which I requested). Your seating options are tables or booths. My waitress came to my table to get my drink order. She was very pleasant & polite, always a hallmark of a good restaurant. The menu offered a variety of comfort food entrees, which I absolutely love. They also had the option of the breakfast served all day, for all you breakfast lovers out there. I went with the homemade meatloaf dinner with a mushroom soup & dinner salad. It was fabulous, the meatloaf was tasty, tender & covered with gravy. To compliment my dinner I had a piece of peanut butter & chocolate pie for dessert. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, very relaxing with all the locals enjoying their meals. I will definitely be back when I’m down this way again. If you are ever in punxsutawney, stop in and enjoy a meal here.“
“2023: gave Gimmicks another shot since I had a not so good experience a few years ago. Let me say, it's alot better.. the staff is super friendly. And the new cook they got was phenomenal (his name is Robbie). I particularly asked to meet the cook because I'm a "fat kid" and I LOVE good food. I was blown away by the comeback Gimmicks made!!“
“The food, prices and the staff are amazing. Can't really say to much bout the younger crowd though as their customers. We had some rude interactions due to certain ethnicity. But if u love little gems (restaurants) like Joe's drive in YOU must come see this place. It was well worth enduring the surrounding atmosphere.“
