Tack's sandwich shop has no wifi and no parking. They make great tuna melts but you have to specify how you want it. There is a casual atmosphere. Friendly cooks no outdoor seating limited indoor seating and they have delicious cheese steak sandwich. As far as I know as of 2017 they only take cash.

Loveee the Steak Shack. Reviews don't lie in this case. Went there to pick up cheesesteaks for girls' night. It was a success. We loved the cheesesteaks. Also bought fried pickles and onion rings. Everything was delicious. Have gone back a couple times since. Also, they give you these stickers for every cheesesteak you buy. When you collect ten of the stickers, you get a free cheesesteak! Definitely the new spot for take-out cheesesteaks!

Not many people are driving to Philly for a cheesesteak and even if they did they would be hard-pressed to find one as good as the cheesesteaks that this place dishes out. I've been a fan of the steak shack since they were in an actual little shack located on route 61 in Leesport. It was a sad day when I discovered they had to close up shop to make room for other corporate expansion and find a new location. I know it's odd that they are sharing a space, without any dividing walls, with a corner gas station but just the fact that they live again makes my life a little bit happier! Although the cheesesteaks are a bit on the pricey side the well stuffed with properly seasoned, good quality meat, piece of Heaven is built on a roll that is the perfect fit in both proportion and density. All that aside what really puts this cheesesteak over the top is the fact that they are not afraid to turn up the flat top and build some caramelization on the meat! I so appreciate the flavor that brings as well as the bonus of not getting a soggy sandwich that taste like the meat was steamed. They've definitely got a customer for life here. Be sure not to miss this hidden treasure and keep up the good work Steak Shack!!!

With the Chicken Guy food truck canceling last minute at our campground after I already had it in my head. By darn I was going to have a chicken cheese steak and was in search of one. Fortunately Yelp lead us to one, quite a distance away, but worthy of the drive, at least that Saturday with chicken cheese steak embedded in my brain. Located along a busy road in a building shared with a Citgo, it's not the most attractive of places. I did question the cleanliness and still do to some degree. The interior was run down, with old tables and mismatched chairs piled on top of each other to discourage dine in due to Covid. The menu is written on a huge blackboard. Cheese steaks come in two sizes, small and large and made to order. Each item is al la carte, with a separate fee for each, and an additional fee for items "on the side". I had no known this going in, and did feel a certain kind of way about it, especially since neither cheese steak appeared to have cheese, and hubby's having a $1.50 fee for extra cheese . I have no idea what my "custom item" was to incur that charge. Was it made well? Yes, it was seasoned well, however a little undersized given the cost. I would have preferred my bun toasted, as it got soggy from the steamed meat, and will request that if there's a next time. The homemade fries however were delicious. Shoestring cut and salted just right. I couldn't stop eating them. A large at $3.85 was pretty generously sized and enough for 2 hungry adults with some to spare. If I stopped here again I would check for cheese before driving the 14 miles back to our campground and question the "on the side" additional fee.

LOVE places like this. Steaks are Philly quality and reasonably priced. I am a Johns and Ginos regular in the City and this place is nice when I am home in Reading to get a steak.... their Pizza is also as close to Philly pizza as you can get here in Reading. Try it!!!!

It was fine. Not great. I've been wanting to try this place and gave it a shot at 6pm on a Saturday. I'm fine with no-frills spots--especially if the food is good--but this a pretty shabby gas station and it wasn't appealing when I got inside. I get why people like the cheesesteaks here. Most places in the area dont chop the steak finely and use big bready sub rolls that just don't result in a satisfying, classic cheesesteak. This place has the right idea, but its still not a great sandwich. It's fine. And at $10+ for a large cheesesteak, it needs to be much better than fine. The bread is good, yes. I ordered a large cheesesteak, and the woman taking my order recommended the combo deal: soda and a small fry for $2.75, I think. Either the large sandwich is not that large, or she overcharged me and I received a small sandwich as part of the combo. Either way, I tried the place and once was enough for me.

Very disappointing - at one time the cheesesteaks from here were one of a kind because of the sauce, No more, the food we had here tonight was awful, no flavor, a hot greasy mess. The best thing was the bottled cream soda.

Good traditional cheesesteak. There were liscio boxes in the back so I'm assuming it's a liscio roll. The Liscio roll gives the cheesesteak a good start. The meat is seasoned very well. I regularly discuss seasoning with the Amigos. Seasoning is a tricky thing. This cheesesteak was seasoned enough to know that it was seasoned but not enough to overpower anything. You'll see in the pictures, actually what you WON'T see in the pictures is cheese. Looks like they forgot the cheese on my cheesesteak. $10.50 seemed a little high. Good cheesesteak.

Fast and delicious. There was a line, so we knew they were good. The chicken cheeSesteak I got was diced down nicely to the point it looked like the typical 'steakum' kind. That was perfect to me.... it wasnt't just diced or pieces of chicken breast like other places give you. It was juicy, the bread was lightly toasted the fries were freshly cooked. They suggested the homemade marinara sauce for the subs. We were a bit reluctant, however it was a beautiful addition to the sandwich. Different, yet delicious ! I will definitely return for more! And the service was wonderful. He came and asked how we enjoyed our meal and his recommendations, to ensure we got the best experience.
