Everything about this place is amazing. Go for the food and stay for the friendly staff. Or go for the staff and enjoy the incredible food. Either way you win. I don't think I've ever enjoyed so many crisp, distinct, fresh flavors paired together as well as at HOJD.

I wasn't treated with a warm and friendly greeting by the lady...not sure if she is the owner's wife...or not but she made me and my guests felt as tho our money wasn't good enough and to add to my disappointment we had to wait for what seemed like an eternaity just to get what we had order because other people who had came after us and ordered the same j*** chicken got through before us...which I thought wasn't fair at all so this is a thumbs down for me...never again!! Will I order from this ?☹....unprofessional place.

I stopped by with my girlfriend last night, Friday, at 6pm. The building was dark, doors locked, no signs, and the phone number was disconnected. Looks like they're closed down and decided not to let anyone know, which sucks because we wasted a half hour of driving and looking for the place. If they are open and were just closed last night then they need to get their act together to give customers a heads up that they're closed on a Friday night.
First time we went they were out of 75% of their menu, the second time we went on A FRIDAY NIGHT and they were closed. I don't recommend them, you can't go to a restaurant that doesn't have food or is not open.

On a spur of the moment trip into Reading we had dinner at HOJD , and I was quite surprised, it was very good !! A couple next to us had the 3 hour advance notice J*** Red Snapper which looked amazing reminding me of the whole fish meals I have in Hawaii. I had chicken and curry which was good but I would have preferred the curry to he a little more spicy. The j*** chicken and pork dishes were both very very good , well seasoned and not over cooked or dry. It's also a BYOB place so we enjoyed pairing or J*** meals with the appropriate adult beverages. If your in Reading PA area give HOJD a try.

Hip decor, great food, and a friendly welcoming atmosphere. don't be fooled by the outside - the inside has the atmosphere of a hip foodie place in Brooklyn and has the food to back it up. This is a great find and restaurant for the city of Reading. I'd give the food more than five stars if that was an option on yelp!!!
