Older quaint restaurant with some parking.Took some time for someone to seat us. Only 1 Server/hostess.Very friendly. Calamari appetizer was good. Meals were just OK. Alfredo was a bit soupy, eggplant not hot, chicken Parm average at best. Pasta had a bad water taste to it.Might be past it's prime.

Wow our first and surely NOT our last visit. From the time we walked in, we were greeted by Cathy our server who was very pleasant and asked if this was our first time visiting...so we advised yes. From start to finish the food and service was as if we were back in New York or even better back in Italy. Even Angelo the owner came out of the kitchen to introduce himself to us and sat and had a very nice conversation with us - ironically a small world coming from New York and Stroudsburg area as well as us. We started with the fried calamari and it was excellent. Dinner came with a choice of soup or salad...we choose the soups--both homemade and made to perfection. We ordered the chicken/eggplant combo with broccoli and the homemade ricotta gnocchi-both again were as if we were eating back in New York or in Italy. If you want a great, cozy, family restaurant then this hiding GEM a is definitely the place you would want to visit. We really can't thank Angelo and Kathy enough.....we will be back real soon for sure.

Angelo and his staff were phenomenal. The food was delicious and homemade. We had the chicken park and the Marsala.

We loved this place. Local Italian cooking, cooked by Angelo himself. Cathy our waitress was so much fun and loved to make us laugh. The bread was warm and freshly baked and was delicious I had the rigatoni bake and the sauce with bolognese and was perfect. One table mate had the veal parmigiana and she said the breading was light and the sauce wonderful. My sister got the chicken parmigiana and she said it was fabulous. The chicken Marsala was so yummy, the mushrooms fresh,my cousin got that. It was wonderful. I tasted it. My other cousin got chicken over broccoli with spaghetti, she liked it. This was the best meal of our whole trip. The decor was like my Aunts kitchen, cute. Angelo the chef and owner came out to visit with us.

Wonderful dinner at Arcangelo's - hidden gem in Scranton (literally - it's tucked away). The staff is incredibly warm, funny and friendly, not to mention attentive. We were turned on to this spot by friends who are regulars and brought us, so we got special attention including a visit with the owner/chef and his assistant chef. The fresh baked bread and antipasto were enough to make a meal of but we were all in on trying the specialties. Starters of calamari (so light and just right crispness) and stuffed mushrooms and clams were shared. I had the pasta puttanesca special - full of savory flavor! My husband went old school with spaghetti and meatballs plus dude of sausage (one each hot and sweet Italian). Our friends got the zuppe di clams and the cod (which they profess are their go-to dishes). The ambiance is no-frills but it's a great place to bring a nice bottle of wine and share classic Italian food with friends.

Nestled between buildings in the back of a lot on market street, Arcangelos is private and as personal as they come. Food is all homemade by Angelo himself and there is no rush to get you in and out.BYOB for those that enjoy libations with dinner. Great menu selection that gets you the best of everything are 1 of 3 combo dinners on back of menu...little of this and a little of that.....makes a great dinner!!!
