Kat's coffeehouse is cute, charming, has lovely decor, friendly servers, good coffee/ tea/ snack options, and is a great place to meet friends for an hour. A few of us from our neighborhood wanted to get together there and Todd (owner with Kat) set up a lovely area for us. Keto? Haley, one of the lovely, friendly baristas whipped up a keto Raspberry Frappuccino that my kids beg and fight over. We've quickly fallen in love with Kat and everyone I've taken there has found it charming too.“

“Fall is in season at Bruster's! We had some of their fall flavors, Pumpkin Patch - which was pumpkin ice cream ( super creamy) with bits of soft Graham cracker & our other was deep apple pie! “Since moving to Pittsburgh last year, I have missed Handels so much as we lived within 10 minutes of 3 of them in Youngstown. When I was browsing locations, I discovered one at McCandless Crossing. It took me 15 minutes before I arrived there! Absolutely the BEST ice cream in the country (and I have travelled through all 50 states trying to beat the taste of Handels to no avail). Chocolate Pecan is my favorite, but I have never been disappointed in any flavor they serve. Try them and you’ll never go anywhere else for ice cream.“

The mouthfeel is super creamy and lacks the icy flatness of inferior custard or "soft serve".I usually get the affogatto, a plain vanilla cone, or some flavored quarts for at home.My only complaint is that they still add in thickeners which is unnecessary and can give you a stomach ache. I'd sacrifice a little texture for that and there are others in the area that do so like Millie's, which is much less creamy and doesn't taste quite as rich.Otherwise this is actually some of the best ice cream I've had anywhere, excluding gourmet restaurants and Blue Bunny Vanilla they used to make without thickeners, which is now impossible to find. They really paid attention to creating a quality recipe that sets it apart and you can taste it.“

“OMG this is the best ice cream!! Everything is homemade and you can tell the ingredients are top quality. So many flavors and nothing I had was overly sweet. The owner takes so much pride in what she does and was so generous with samples. I loved all of the flavors I tried. Whether you want a regular Italian ice or something with ice cream, you won't be disappointed. “Millie’s is a local Pittsburgh ice cream chain. This location is a small stand next to the Boathouse/OTB. There is also a newly paved walking/ biking trail next to the ice cream stand which is nice. The ice cream itself is delicious. We got a couple ice creams and a nitro cold brew. I thought the staff was nice and after you order, there are picnic tables to eat at.“

“Very busy in the summer but chill in the winter. They are pretty quick if you order something simple--it's pretty much all teens that work there. The ice cream is good and there is a lot of flavor choices. The parking lot is big but can get crowded at peak times in summer. It's the closest ice cream to my house so the location is convenient. “Generoasta is a cozy, community cafe with really, really good coffee and an extensive menu of light breakfast and lunch items. I tried the chicken salad croissant. It looked lackluster but when I tried it, I'm pleased to say it was really good. We also tried the caprese salad and it was very good. I would visit again.“
