“Really delicious and good prices! I got the cheese ddeokbokki for about $12. I ordered the size small and it was actually huge!? Great portions. Came with some potatoes side dish and radish kimchi. Very delicious!! Not too spicy, loaded with cheese and veggies. The fish cakes were excellent. I really enjoyed this meal“
“The only Thai place I will order from in the entire Philadelphia vicinity. The best staff. The best food. The best experience. I will forever give JJ Thai my business and always recommend them to friends & family. By the way, if your server is Air, be prepared because she is the absolute best server I have came across in any restaurant. I worked in the service industry myself, and to come across someone like Air is truly a blessing. She is so friendly, goes above and beyond, and always ensures the best customer service. Thank you JJ Thai and thank you Air for continuous unforgettable experiences.“
“Delicious, fantastic vegan options, had a matcha bun and the grandma tofu which was great! I'm looking forward to being in suburban station again so I can try more menu items.Vegetarian options: Bao and other options for vegetarians and vegans are great and definitely not boring!Dietary restrictions: Nice vegan and vegetarian options!“
“Bao Nine is such a cute place to eat at. Thankfully, the food matches the atmosphere! The food is fresh, light, and delicious. The prices are great and the combo options make it easy to try a little of everything. I enjoyed my first time at Bao Nine and will surely be going back whenever I'm in the neighborhood.“
“Food was good with many choices for vegetarians. Do watch out for the fish based flavoring if you don’t eat sea food. Overall a good place to enjoy Asian fusion.Seating is a little too close as you can see in one of the photos. Also the receptionist at the door appeared was unlike any other restaurant we have been to - no smiles and almost unhappy to seat people. If that’s the brand they are going after, they just lost a repeat.“
“Came here for dinner during Wrestlemania 40 weekend. Excellent service and the sushi was amazing! Especially the fried sushi with smoked salmon. Also got the shrimp tempura and sweet potato rolls. Wish had more room to finish it all. Pretty small place, so was lucky enough that it wasn't so busy. Highly recommend!“
“Such a cute little place!! Got the salt & pepper shrimp w/ rice, shrimp & pork dumplings, and lobster summer rolls. The cashier was soooo sweet and brought our food out to us. It was delicious. HAD to get more dumplings to go!! These pics don't do any justice“
“One of the best and authentic Indonesian restaurants in the states. The other one is in Atlanta GA. As a native Indo, I highly recommend this place. Service was good. Space is quite tight but expected for Philly. Food is so good. So good. Get the ketoprak, Satay ayam/ grilled skewered chicken with special peanut sauce, for sure. We drove 9 hrs one way and it was worth it. Makasih banyak mbak2.“
“The food and service was phenomenal, the food came out so fast and right after we finished with our appetizers our plates were replaced. The sushi was so fresh and the presentation was beautiful! So happy to have found this place!! Can’t wait to come “
“Martabak OK is a delightful find in South Philadelphia, serving up authentic Indonesian martabak that caters to both savory and sweet palates. The staff here are exceptionally friendly, making each visit a pleasant experience.I particularly enjoy starting my day with their savory ground beef and onion martabak. It's a flavorful breakfast option that's both filling and satisfying. While the sweet versions of martabak are a bit too sweet for my taste, they're perfect for those moments when you're craving something indulgent. The unique taste of their offerings is a testament to the authenticity and care put into each dish. Whether you're familiar with Indonesian cuisine or looking to try something new, Martabak OK in South Philadelphia is a must-visit for a culinary adventure“
“Good vibe and good food! I was a bit surprised by the portion sizes and how small they were, considering that I would say this spot is pricey. The menu is also small, most dim sum restaurants I go to have a vast menu and are relatively inexpensive. With that being said, the chicken wontons were the star of the show for me! Along with the green fire cocktail… MUST TRY. The shrimp dumplings were also delicious, and the korean fried chicken wings were just OK.If I go back, I plan on trying to the cheesesteak bao as I heard they’re incredible.“
“We held the MOST beautiful bridal shower at Veekoo! The manager and staff were exceptionally accommodating, the event was lovely and the food - as always- was SUPERB!Thanks Veekoo!Dietary restrictions: Able to devise a menu for guests who were vegetarian, and who did and did not eat sushi“
“An unassuming thai restoraunt in the middle of nowhere (at least to me as a visitor of the city). It was a small cozy resto with decent service and some lowkey décor. Gold coloured cups was a plus. Chicken skewers - White meat was dry, but the peanut sauce was really good. Pad see ew - pad see ew was tasty. The stirfried dish was seasoned well with lots of different flavour. It was only missing a bit of char, otherwise really good. Would recommend. Some decent food, but as a tourist to the city, I would not be coming back. There are other restos for me to try. But as a local, I can see myself coming back to grab casual meals.“
“Located in a small strip center with a small parking lot and across the street from a much bigger lot, Osushi is a gem. We arrived for a late lunch. We started with the tofu miso soup (would prefer more tofu) that was tasty and a larger than typical serving. The tuna dumpling, tricolor tobiko roll, and the Naruto roll are pictured. The tuna dumpling included mango which compliments the overall taste. The visual appeal of every dish was outstanding (see the attached pictures). While a bit pricey, there's no denying the quality.Parking: There's a single line of parking in this steep center with a much larger public lot immediately across the street“
“The staff and owner are nice folks. Prices are fair and reasonable in this current economy. Food was solid, the French Onion Soup Dumplings were solid. Steak was solid. The cocktails were generally not my style, I prefer mezcals/bourbons/whiskey bases, but the flavor profile was solid; the Drunk Text was the winner. It’s a nice addition to the neighborhood. I’ll be interested to see how they grow in the near future. It would be nice to see a Point Breeze cocktail bar crawl between Dock Street, El Mezcal, Insatiable, Madira and other spots … the local spots could benefit from something like a city-wide competition (shot + beer + app). I would like to see more collaboration between our neighborhood’s restaurants“
“Delicious as always. My baby’s favorite spot our favorites are the kalbi, skirt, and hangar steaks ? the drinks are pretty good too! Staff is very professional, polite, hospitable, and friendly as well. 10/10Kid-friendliness: This is my seven year olds favorite restaurant“
“The service is perfect. Attentive and they greet you quickly. They do have a parking lot and you would pass them if you didn't know how good the food truly is! Flavorful and not heavy sodium. Freshly made and the dumplings were great! I enjoyed the bowls in this open space place with view of the kitchen (bonus). I would definitely return and try another bowl-- it truly doesn't matter what you pick, there is a reason they have such high star ratings.“
“Everything about this place is wonderful. The service was amazing with the waiter, Logan, being an absolute delight. He was very considerate and cordial and at the end wrapped our leftovers for us.We had steamed chicken dumplings, char siu, and crab rangoon as our appetizers. The chicken dumplings had a light delicate taste and I could tell they were recently prepared. The char siu was flavorful and ample in portion, for just $10 it was shocking to get what amounted to a small entree. The crab rangoon was perfectly crispy and nice and gooey. For our entrees we had the shrimp lettuce wrap and chicken chow fun. It was lots of fun eating the wrap and crunchy and flavorful. The chow fun noodles were well made with a nice bounce to them and saucing was done well. The atmosphere was on the modern end with an emphasis on a wood/natural tone.I 100% would come here again and plan to in the coming weeks.Vegetarian options: The menu has a serviceable vegetarian section and you can always order a dish without meat.“
“Overall the food was pretty good! The price-to-quantity ratio was a bit high though (although there may not be as much competition here in Philly). The savory crepes were really satisfying and the crepe is crunchy in a good way. Water fern dumplings are typically hard to find in the US, and it did not disappoint. The flounder was also cooked well and seasoned. The fried rice was alright, but not the best. The soft shell crab was definitely one of the best dishes here. The #1 dish in my opinion is the shaken beef. The meat is cooked to absolute perfection; it is truly tender and juicy while packed with flavor. I would definitely recommend and come back to this place for authentic Vietnamese food.“
“This review is actually for the Wok Works location on Frankford -- which is brand new and therefore doesn't have a Yelp page yet!My partner and I DEVOURED the pad se ew bowl and the honey garlic shrimp rice bowl. The flavors were spot-on, the ingredients were cooked perfectly, it wasn't greasy or over-salted, and it was hot and ready in less than 15 minutes. SO happy this spot came to the Fishtown neighborhood. A quick, versatile noodle spot is exactly what we needed. It may not be THE most authentic option, but this hits the spot, is still really nuanced with the flavor profiles, and is super convenient.“
“Small spot, but delicious Vietnamese cuisine.I'm a huge fan of Pho, and this place was a pleasant little gem. I took my fiancee here for her first Vietnamese food experience, and she always wants to go back. She calls their pho "a warm hug in a bowl"“
“Ardmore: this is your new takeout Chinese food place. Two tiers above anything else I’ve had around here in my 15 years in Ardmore. The place is clean, the owners welcoming, and the food very fresh and delicious. They also use mostly easily recyclable/compostable brown cardboard containers that are just the right size. The dumplings, Spring rolls and Beef Lo Mein were all the best I’ve ever had from a takeout place.I can”t wait to go back.I’m worried that the inner neighborhood location will make it difficult for them to drum up enough business to make it, which would be heartbreaking. So I’m here, politely imploring you to check them out. I’m sure you’ll be glad you did, as they are in a class of their own, truly.“
“I have been coming to this place for about two years now and I am definitely not one to write reviews at all, but this place really deserves it. I am a senior in highschool and the chef john is the nicest and humblest man i know. He is kind to every customer and makes amazing food (I like the garlic rice bowl the best). Today, he saw that i wasn’t eating and came over to me directly with my favorite order. I didn’t mention that I was fasting for the month of ramadan. This just goes to show his character and i hope that he gets all the customers he deserves“
“Me and My Bestfriend took a hour long bus ride just to get some food from here it is that delicious an worth it and they not stingy on they portions like all hood Chinese stores they were friendly great customer service I will definitely be going “
“Amazing vegan options, I think this is the best vegan option in the area (the next best one is DIG). Very, *very* good food. Ask them to remove the (non-vegan) gochujang mayo.Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian and vegan options. For vegan, make sure to ask them to remove the gochujang mayo.Dietary restrictions: Vegan friendly“
“Absolutely amazing Thai food to go. We ordered the Fried Tofu (super crispy and firm but not dried or greasy), shumai (pretty good but a bit dense and could not really make out the shrimp or crab), fantastic Tom ka (order it spicy!), pad Thai, drunken noodles, and sweet and sour chicken for the kids! The noodles were good and spicy and the kiddos loved the sweet and sour. It was such good chicken, the adults even enjoyed. But the cherry on top was the absolutely kind and sweet phone and in person service - which is becoming a diamond in the rough. Super impressed from the first hello to the last bite!“
“Fast delivery and reasonable prices! Very good food with a large menu. I am vegan and I can always find a huge selection at Little Basil. I highly recommend! ?Vegetarian options: Lots of great options! And you can tweak the dish a little bit if you don't like, say, mushrooms.“
“This place is absolutely amazing! Love the atmosphere and how calm but sociable it is. Music was definitely not over your voice. Our server was AMAZING! I wish I knew her name but she was on point on what you wanted and on top asking first if anyone is allergic to any type of food and not all places do that! The food was so good and the presentation was on point!! I didn’t even wanted to touch it cause it looked so pretty ? I even asked if the seaweed cannot be added in my sushi and I got a yes and not all places do that. If you don’t want a certain ingredient they will do it with no hesitation. The drinks was a big WOW!! with one drink I was already feeling lifted. Beautiful place to spend with the love of your life or your friend and family. Again this place is a YES for me!“
“Mandarin Palace may seem like a seedy hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant, but that exterior masks what is likely the best American Chinese food in Philadelphia. I have tried many Chinese takeout places before realizing Mandarin Palace exists and was continually disappointed by each of them.Everything here is flavorful, well put together, and most importantly for any take out place, consistent, regardless of the day of the week. Every time we have ordered from here, the order was put together promptly, accurately, and with the same high quality every time. The only real con is that it's expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. The food here is second to none.Stay away from the non-American Chinese dishes though. This is NOT a sushi/Thai/Vietnamese place or anything besides American Chinese. Those dishes are mediocre at best and to be avoided.“
“We are Hong Konger and enjoy the traditional 'Dim Sum' since we were kids. Their authentic 'Dim Sum' brings back all the memories of those good old days and good food. The atmosphere is good, the 'Dim Sum' is tasty and juicy. The service is very good too and they treated us like a family. They are very friendly and polite. But a friendly reminder to remind you that the 'Dim Sum' is freshly made and very hot inside. The 'Siomai', 'Beef Ball' and 'Ham Sui Gok' appeared to be cold and dry outside. Actually, they are very hot and juicy inside. Never try to swallow it down and you will regret. But taste it with a small bite and you will enjoy it. Taste it and you will come back again with your best friend and family. No lie.“
“Great food. Very nice atmosphere. Reasonable prices and everything is super fresh. Something you absolutely want when dining out for sushi. Located in delightful downtime Media on State Street. Perfect for any type of celebration or date night. Enjoy!Vegetarian options: My son and I shared the vegetarian mango/avocado roll, and it was fantastic!“
“We went to Tora after not getting a table at our local go to sushi spot. We went in not expecting much and were so kindly greeted and serviced. We ordered the fish cakes, spring rolls, spicy stir fried mussels (wow), shrimp tempura roll, eel roll, rainbow roll, Tom yum soup and breaded chicken cutlets and were so pleasantly surprised that every single thing was delicious. Add to that the great service and family friendly environment, where the owners are the ones serving and making your food, and you have a great dining experience. The place is modest but so worth a try. We will be going back!“
“Really good food. They are always quick. I don’t live far, so getting pickup is usually much faster than delivery. I also have an allergy and I’ve never had any issues with cross contamination. I wouldn’t dine in. The place is run down and older but clean.“
“The vegetable lo mein noodles I bought last 2 weeks it didn't like to saute , but like were cooked with water and sauce in the noodle soup They were super salty and really unpalatable. They were super greasy. I only got 2 pcs broccoli in this vegetable lo mein?. But today I bought wonton soup and chicken dumplings, which were super delicious. The front desk was very patient every time I called, even though she was busy sometimes!!!“
“I love food in general, but I'm also a pescatarian, so there are a lot of things I don't eat. That being said, everything I have received from this place has been delicious! Lo mein, shrimp basket, vegetable fried rice, broccoli in garlic sauce, and of course shrimp rolls and egg rolls are some of those items. Not much, but for me, the little things are what matter. I'm also quite choosy. Noodles and rice can sometimes be disgusting. I say that to emphasize the fact that this is the SOLE Chinese restaurant I frequent. Hope this is useful!“
