Excellent sushi, excellent and friendly staff, and a warm atmosphere. The vegetable tempura, sweet potato roll and Camp David roll are immaculate.Vegetarian options: As far as I remember, there are usually troves of vegetarian options in places like this and the staff here has always been gracious with curious questions. Sushi doesn't always mean meat of some sort.
Sapporo is hands down, the best Japanese restaurant in the area. We took the trip to Waynesboro from Hagerstown in September for my wife's birthday, and it was more than worth the 1 hour round-trip drive. Their sushi is phenomenal, their service is great, and their owner is terrific.We tried various sushi options, and I can not remember the names of all of them, but we thoroughly enjoyed all of them. One of my best restaurant experiences. Ever. This is a great family run restaurant that I definitely recommend after my first visit. The service was perfect - attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Made great recommendations and conversation. The food was simply delicious and the portions were substantial. I can’t wait to go back.
