“I came here for the first time and was very pleased, the spicy shrimp appetizer was delicious and the lasagna was also. We got a massive sundae for my boyfriend’s birthday but took it home because the portions definitely filled us up. One appetizer, two small pasta portions, one veggie split between 3 people was more than enough. Our server Ron was very helpful and attentive. Plus the unique decor makes for a really neat atmosphere.“

“Top notch and quick service despite it being St. Patty's day. I had the Boxty, Corned Beef Hash, and The Lucky Charm martini. They did NOT skimp on the spirits. It was a great time with my girl friends for brunch and will definitely be back for their regular brunch offerings.“

“We have lived in Reading for 3 years. We were especially surprised with the sheer quality and authenticity in their food. Our go to is the Seafood Noodle Soup with Chicken Wings and Crab Rangoon. The soup is incredibly clean and the portion is so plentiful. Their wings are probably the best Chinese restaurant wings I've had. The wings have this distinct flavors and crunch where other restaurants won't cut it. The crab rangoons are so good and have little to no grease. I sometimes ordered beef chow fun whenever I went for just myself before working a 2nd shift and it's also extremely good and authentic. The staff is really nice and are courteous to guests. We came back to visit reading for the weekend after a year. I can say that the quality has not diminished in the slightest. Please give them a try!“

“Beer was good and we also ordered a pizza. Pizza was very good. We were here on a Tuesday night and it was very busy. Only criticism would be they need to figure out a Better way to serve/pay. Had to wait in a long line and was a bit of a negative.“

I would not recommend sitting on the bar side if your child has sensitivity to loudness. It was a great experience overall!“

“UPDATE! I returned to this restaurant, now named “American Diner.” I ordered the same thing as before. Eggs, home fries, turkey bacon and grits. I also ordered a New York strip steak because that is what my bestie ordered on my last visit. Upon arrival I was immediately taken to my seat. There were plenty of other customers there as well on this Sunday morning. My servers name is Samantha. A very beautiful melanated woman who just happens to look like Clarissa Shields the current GWOAT of female boxing. She was one of the nicest and prettiest servers I’ve had. She was on top of her job and did it very well. There were no problems with my order and she asked several times throughout if I needed anything else. I dove into the grits first because that’s why I was there. I added butter, salt & pepper than dove in and to my surprise, they tasted a lot better than before. The previous time, they weren’t edible, but this time they were so I dug in. I cut the steak and ate a piece and noticed that it was a little tough and it needed more seasoning, but it wasn’t bad at all. I just added some table seasoning and some A1 sauce and everything was fine. The real test was eating the grits with the eggs and bacon I ordered. Well, I ate everything on the table and not once had to ask for a replacement or for something to be made over. It was cool sailing once my food hit the table. No, their grits aren’t the best and still need some work, but they are edible now and will not disappoint those who love them as much as I do. I was impressed with the cooks because the restaurant was packed and my meal was not under or over cooked. Everything turn out great considering how packed it was. “I just encountered the rudest woman (employee) working here. She treated me like a criminal from the moment I walked up to return an incorrect sandwich. No customer service skills. She reminded me of the soup N*** from Seinfeld only 50 times worse. I will never go back. Ever. She was that rude.“

“Great place to get a variety of foods including burgers, scrambled eggs,etc. So if either live near or around this restaurant or visiting from out of state and visiting Pennsylvania and want to stop for a meal, than check out Penn Grille. It's a great place and also it's right next to a gas station too, so after having a meal and if your car needs some gasoline, than there's a redness quick shop literally right next to the restaurant.“

“I loved my fruity crepe here, it was quite sweet! I went with a friend, and we enjoyed the atmosphere. It was very small, but we sat inside, if you're outside it's less cramped. The fruit delight came with ice cream, which helped relieve some of the overly-rich elements of the Nutella in my crepe. It was quite affordable, and our total came out even, which was helpful. Would go again.“

“Walking in we were greeted by Kenny the owner. We sat at bar and enjoyed our service there with a very knowledgeable and friendly barmaid. The food was excellent and it was a very pleasant experience.Parking: Very spacious parking lot in the back.“

“Was just in tonight 7/27 around 545. Place was booming! All but one table was filled (granted it's a small place) but take out was also busy. Two ladies were working and I could tell they were busy so I would of had patience if they didn't get to me right away. However the older of the two asked how she could help me, I said if she needed a minute I could wait but she was on it and got my takeout order in.... Mind you I know plenty of people don't tip on takeout so as someone who has worked the industry I would of understood her putting her tables before me because she's there to pay her bills. (I did tip but she had no way of knowing if I would) so customer service A+ Food came out quick. I got a large chicken cheesesteak, fries and a slice in a little over ten minutes. My mom didn't eat the slice yet so I can't comment on that, I didn't even see it tbh. But the cheesesteak was delicious! Huge sandwich, just the way I ordered it. Super soft roll, didn't skimp on the meat. The fries seemed either over done or the fryer oil needed to be changed. They are the good battered fries though at least so I know under better circumstances I would of loved them. Maybe I should knock a star off for that, but really I won't because 1. Nothing is perfect 2. I got a lot of food for a fair price 3. Quick friendly service 4. It's a small business give people a break 10/10 recommend“

“We stopped in for lunch following a medical appt. It was a Wednesday around 12 noon. The place was not crowded at all -- indoors nearly every table was vacant and outdoors a few tables were vacant. (It was a low-humidity day.) I ordered a pizza + a salad; he ordered a cheeseburger + fries. The pizza was very good and since I can't eat cheese, one of my toppings was comped. The smallest pizza was more than I could finish for a lunch -- or a supper, for that matter, unless I were famished. The salad arrived in a 5" square dish -- romaine, assorted greens (the arugula was a nice touch), shredded carrot, diced tomatoes and a cucumber slice or two -- plus the tasty vinaigrette. His burger looked delicious with the melted cheese (provolone, I think) dripping down from it. He usually orders medium-rare but the middle was more done that that. Still, he had no complaints and seemed to enjoy it. The fries looked fantastic but I had enough to handle w/ the pizza and salad. Our server, Amaya, was attentive and helpful. The industrial feel of the place is not the type of decor I gravitate toward, typically, but it was fine. A lot of the tables indoors are of the high-table and high-stool variety. There is a large bar and you do not need to wait to be seated if you sit at the bar. This was not a concern with the place nearly empty upon our arrival. By the time we left, a large group (a busload?) had entered and gone to some side room (? they disappeared somewhere) and quite a few other tables had filled up. The food was very good here. It was $40 for the two of us for lunch w/ no booze - just waters and iced teas. It was probably $48 w/ tip, if I know my hubby. If I had been by myself, I probably would have taken an outdoor table, but with hubby along and a high today of 86, we opted for indoor seating. Great to know that this option exists for the "it's Friday night and no one in Berks eats at home on Friday night" syndrome.“

Recently I've been getting cheese steaks with their lunch special. Great every single time and generous portions, especially for the price.The service is impeccable. They go above and beyond to make sure you're happy. I really want to stress how good it actually is. The atmosphere itself isn't anything very special. It's small, but it's very clean and gets the job done. The parking is also a bit sparse, but it's to be expected since it's a smaller place.I recommend their lunch specials.
