It's been a while since I've been there. I went during their listed hours last Saturday and they weren't open. I'll try again soon. I hope everything is alright.

Decided to give this place a try this morning for the breakfast they offer at the York City Market. Food was over priced based on portion size. The wait from ordering to receiving the food was about 40 mins and they weren’t that busy and the service was not great. In short, there are other food vendors in the market that are worth the wait and provide excellent service. Go there first!

Went for breakfast yesterday. We waited at the table for 15 min and no wait staff ever came by our table although they interacted with the two tables on either side of us. We left and will not be back.

Nice little spot for breakfast/brunch on weekends. Lots of options at very reasonable prices. Only negative is no mimosas or bloody Marys.

We went for breakfast and enjoyed our food and coffee breakfast pizza was great I loved the hollandaise drizzle my wife's omelet was a good portion and her grits were cooked perfect I liked them and I don't like grits. Food was good but I expected it to be slightly higher end from an Italian restaurant. Despite being short handed us and the other customers were well taken care of. I could see people finding the service and owner rude or off putting if they aren't used to the city's street swagger type of attitude/mentality. Good place to try and it's fun eating in the beautiful market house building.
Really Useful
We found this place during our first trip to York one year ago. We were tired of chained restaurants and decided to give local food a try. Googled and found this restaurant but had a hard time finding it. It is actually in a market, like Reading Terminal in Philadelphia. We went on Sunday. The market was closed but this restaurant was open. The place was spacious and unreal, like a spot forgotten by time and cemented in history. The food was hot, delicious and the service fantastic. York is a place we go once per year and now we make a point to visit Mezzo every time we are there and we bring friends too.

We absolutely can not say enough wonderful things about Chef Tim Spangler and Mezzogiorno. Chef Spangler prepared a gourmet meal for us to enjoy at our home through a generous charity donation for an at home dining experience. He was beyond professional and prepared. Our guests were thrilled by the entire experience and of course the delicous food. Every part of the meal EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS! Many many thanks, hope to see you soon in Downtown Central Market in York!
Turned away recently at nine o'clock Saturday morning because Tim didn't have enough help. What the hell is going on in this country? I was looking forward to a delicious favorite of mine the Corned Beef Hash Casserole. Love this place!!

Love the Panini’s at Mezzo! Always warm and made with the best ingredients - my favorite is #3, pesto, mozzarella, tomato. I am addicted to this sandwich. Choose the homemade chips as your side - spoiler alert you’ll need a cold drink to pair with the chips - salty, crispy and delicious!

I would give this place 5 stars but the grumpy guy at the register takes away a star. Food is excellent and the servers are friendly except for grumpy at the register. I don't understand the career choices people make . If you don't like people , why work any position in customer service? Seems like a no Brainer to me. I don't know but service with smile goes a long way with me especially if your treated with kindness and respect.

Love to go for breakfast @ Mezzo. Tim has breakfast specials on weekends. One of my favorites is the Umbria omelet...basil pesto, sausage, onions, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese. YUM ?. Of course the home fries are unique as well. Little chunks deep fried pretty crispy. Service was great as it usually is as well. Mezzo being in the market was very busy today as it was a market day so keep that in mind. But then you have the market to browse around either before or after eating. Mezzo also serves lunch which is equally tasty.
