“This was a wonderful and welcoming place for breakfast. The waitress was very friendly and we later found out she was part owner. The bread was addictive and one can buy it! The sausage, eggs, and potatoes were plentiful and delicious. Similar to the United States..restaurants that close at 2 p.m. are great to drop by and enjoy. Thanks for a truly superior experience.”

“Best pho I’ve had on the island! My boyfriend and I love Vietnamese food and this spot did not disappoint. The owner was incredibly friendly and told us he and his wife prepare each batch of pho broth over a 24 hour period. Very reasonable prices as well. Will definitely be back!”

My dad and I relished the flavorful Backwoods Burger and a delightful poutine with beef, gravy, and peas. However, it was surprising that there was an extra charge for cheese curds in the poutine, even though it's traditionally included. Nevertheless, the additional cheese did enhance the overall enjoyment.The charming country atmosphere, adorned with antique decorations, created a delightful ambiance reminiscent of a bygone era.While the commercial fries were satisfactory, opting for hand-cut or homemade ones could have elevated the dining experience. The restaurant, being 3/4 full, led us to use a larger table, but the warm, rustic ambiance compensated for the seating situation.Parking on the street posed a slight challenge due to limited spots, yet the short walk from alternative parking was manageable. The food was served hot, and the overall satisfaction was met.The service was decent, In summary, Backwoods Burger provides a charming and nostalgic dining atmosphere in Tyne Valley, with the only drawback being the unexpected extra charge for cheese in the poutine and commercial french fries.”

As a Celiac and allergic to shellfish my options are very limited on the island for eating out.We popped in for a drink before my daughter's dance recital and check the menu and pleasantly surprised or the gluten free options.Afterthe recital we returned for supper. What amazing service and food. 5 years later I get an amazing hot chicken sandwich and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy... omgosh. The waiter and cook went above and beyond to deliver amazing food and service at a aqesome price. She put the first order in a take out container and gave it to me for free, and then went back to the kitchen to make another without onions.
