“Dining here was an absolute pleasure, with an ambiance that sets the perfect stage for a memorable meal and a menu that caters to a wide range of tastes. There was a slight mishap with our order, but the way the staff handled the situation showcased their commitment to guest satisfaction. Each dish we tasted was a testament to the chef's skill, blending taste and presentation seamlessly. Despite the brief confusion, we left with full bellies and happy hearts, planning our return.“

“I drove by this adorable spot on my way to get take out this Friday. I decided to come back today to give their coffee a shot! I’m forever looking for a great coffee in Gatineau. I walked in but they were actually closed on Sunday; they were just having a meeting. I left but the owner came out and said he’d be happy to make me a coffee either way as the machine was on!! Which I thought was very kind considering they were closed today!!The service was friendly and the Latte was in fact delicious! I will definitely be back again.Thank you for the fabulous customer service and amazing coffee!! This spot is definitely worth a visit if you haven’t tried it yet :)“

“Churro were super tasty and I hope to try more of the deserts soon.I will say that the teas were super pricey for what they were: Very weak in flavour, yet costs almost as much as a Starbucks drink. Just hot water, a tea bag and the option for milk.“

“Very nice experience during a getaway to come and take a coffee break with oat milk and look at the cycling offer. Vintage bikes at good prices and refurbished! “The food and coffee here is just excellent — really elevated toasts, bowls and brunches. Nice treats too. It is also a great spot to stop while on a wander or bike ride or ski through Gatineau Park. For that reason, Palmier gets super duper busy on weekends and other popular outdoor-activity days. But I always find it worth it to try and squeeze in, because the food and beverage (and scenic patio spots in nice weather) are just so worth it.“

“Delightful non-chain local Byward market neighbourhood haunt with satisfying but limited breakfast choices not readily found in your run of the mill establishments for the vegetarian and meat eater alike. Prices are definitely not discount for their offerings, but choices not common either. It is a chill space with a laid back vibe for the morning rush that hosts a loyal following.“

“Love the chill vibes, the flourless cookies, the dog friendly space here. We love visiting with our dogs, they know exactly where the treat jar is at by now! I think the owner had a dog as well because there’s a picture of “Mickey” and the staff seem to always like seeing our dogs. It makes me so happy to support this local cafe. We come every weekend and pick up pastries and lattes for our walk to the nearby dog park.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian sandwich optionsDietary restrictions: Vegan cookies and gluten free as well“

“Chef Ric's was the perfect caterer for our plated dinner reception on our wedding day. After being recommended by friends of ours who had their bridal shower catered by them, we pursued a quote for our wedding reception. From the beginning of the process, they were very professional and communicated well with us right up until wedding day. The food was delicious and the chefs and serving staff were friendly and remained flexible through any changes on the day of. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a friendly company to handle food for your next special event.“

“The food was well executed and the decor was just like the pictures. Beautiful atmosphere, I stayed there for 5 hours. It's quite quiet for such a small space, the place is quite small, it accommodated around thirty people. Some photos suggest that the place is larger than it is. There was a delay with the service but they were only two servers and were always moving. My order was forgotten but the waiters offered me a free dessert. I went on a rainy Sunday so there were probably fewer people than usual. We didn't wait long to arrive.“

“I got the Calibrese Tempeh salad. The portion is definitely meal size and it was very tasty. Ordered a glass of red wine but they brought me white wine. I turned around to let the staff know but she was very quick to leave the glass on the table and long gone. She didn't look back or come back. A mild annoyance but the white wine was actually very good, so oh well! Overall, it's to the pricier side but a nice experience. Excellent layout for sitting at the bar facing the Byward Market and people watching :)“
“I like the roastery :))The coffees are good and the staff is friendly! It's like a mini grocery store, you discover a few things each time you visit. They have a frozen meat section which is worth it, try the duck sausages they are DELICIOUS!!“
“Very pretty cafe located in the OAG (Ottawa Art Gallery). Love the high ceilings, feels very open and spacious. Food is good, prices are just a bit on the high side. I've had a few different items here. Their Cuban Sandwich is huge and filled with lots of roasted pork, Swiss cheese, ham and pickles. The pork was a bit on the fatty side and I did not like the excessive amount of butter in the sandwich. Other than these 2 issues, it was a good sandwich. Their muffins are good, although a bit dense. The apple muffin could have used more apples though, lol. Their steel-cut oats with berries is tasty and I have no idea why it never tastes the same when I make it at home, haha. Staff are courteous and efficient. Metered street parking or paid parkade parking only. (17)“

“Love it here! I love learning about indigenous history and art, and this place is such an overflowing well of culture and good food. I'm OBSESSED with their raspberry lemonade iced tea, I grab it every time. The store is very modern but not overwhelmingly so, and the location is perfect for government workers looking for a place to eat while on break, or anyone looking to enjoy downtown Portages/Hull. The shop connected to the cafe also sells a lot of artisanal crafts made by local indigenous creators, so be sure to stop by and support these artists if you have the money ♥️Vegetarian options: A wide variety of vegetarian options, very impressed with the range“

“I've tried many coffee shops around town looking for the best coffee and croissant, and Byward Cafe is my favourite. Not only is the quality good (including their other products: salads, sandwiches, cakes), the service is exceptional, the prices are incredibly reasonable, and the place is bright and sunny, with so many windows. The family who owns it works very hard, and are always friendly. I never want to go anywhere else when given the choice!“
“First time going to this place and I was pleasantly surprised. The food is good and healthy. When ordering an iced dalgona coffee, the employee made sure I knew what I was ordering and what the beverage was made of. I appreciated that she took the time to make sure.In short, I loved the place, I will definitely go back!Kid-friendliness: I went there with my 10 month old baby and it was good. I had a transport chair, so I didn't look to see if there were high chairs available.“
“I had a chicken curry walnut wrap and cappuccino. Fantastic! Best lunch I've had in ottawa. It's a little out of the way, but it also means no wait. Huge selections of sandwiches, wraps and desserts.Kid-friendliness: Lots of space and feels family friendly Parking: Lots of parking“

“Very incognito coffee shop. I happen to stumble on it on a walk. Small in the inside, but multiple sitting areas outside in the front or back patio. The prices are comparable with most coffee shops in the area. Good service and tasty coffee.“
