I left a little note asking them to keep us in mind if there was a cancellation for a later spot, and they contacted me by email, text, and phone when a later table became available for 6:15pm. Very responsive and friendly staff. Our time at Soif was marvellous. The staff were friendly and extremely professional. Service was relaxed yet very polished. Our server was knowledgeable about the wine and took great care to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. We had a flight of wine to start, followed by a beautiful bottle of white, and a flight of bubbles to end our evening. We shared a half cheese/half charcuterie platter that came with a mountain of crispy and delicious crostini, the latter being refilled without having to ask. Such a small but lovely touch. We also shared roasted Brussels sprouts, frites and aioli, a bison tartare, and grilled radicchio, that were all delicious. They surprised my friend with a little dessert wine and candle to acknowledge her birthday, which was so kind and thoughtful. I have not a single critique. The team here works like a well-oiled machine. No one seemed frantic or rushed. It was a lovely evening. I (we) will definitely be back. Santé!”

“Had a great first visit to Jose Pizza! The owner, JP, was incredibly polite and patient—even after I changed my order a couple of times. The shop has a fun, colorful vibe, and JP’s friendly personality really stands out. I mentioned we were a group of five, and he kindly threw in some extra sauce since it was our first time ordering. The Jose Special is a must-try! Can’t wait to come back. Great local spot with even better service.”

Thomas, Rachel and the other staff took the best care of us and really stood out! Thomas even offered to help with anything we needed, even set up our decorations! Not only was the service top notch, but the food was fantastic and we didn't have to wait long for the food at all! Our guests were so impressed with this restaurant, and I gotta say, so am I! I'm so glad we chose this place to celebrate this important milestone. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Our original spot was closed for lunch, so my wife remembered a place someone mentioned during a recent workshop. She checked her notes, a few options popped up, and the only one open at the time was Sans façon. One quick look online, and we were immediately intrigued. The aesthetics, the menu, the vibe—it checked all our boxes. So off we went. From the moment we stepped inside, the place just wowed us. The interior design is incredible—modern yet warm, with a touch of Irish decor. We were invited to sit wherever we wanted, and since it wasn’t too busy yet, we actually went table shopping! We checked out the left, the right, and even upstairs before claiming the biggest corner table in the house—usually perfect for a work dinner, but today it was our royal suite for two. Our server, Kaëlle, was exceptional from start to finish. She made us feel right at home, catered to us with a smile, and remained attentive even as the place filled up. We started with oysters—shucked to perfection and beautifully fresh. Then came a side of shrimp to warm up the taste buds. For mains, my wife had the Steak Frites: seasoned perfectly and served at just the right temperature. I went with the AAA Aged Beef Tartar, which wasn’t even on the menu yet—and wow, what a treat. The presentation was stunning, and the flavours absolutely nailed it. Let me say it again—the design of the restaurant is something special. It adds so much to the experience. But the true star? Our waitress. Kaëlle was quick, professional, and clearly passionate about the place. Service like that takes a great meal and turns it into an unforgettable experience. We’re already planning our return and will be recommending Sans façon to all our friends and family. Gatineau has a new favourite.”

When I visit my daughter in Gatineau, it's not so easy. I find pizza here to be bland and mostly low quality ingredients at premium prices.This little place however, is different. The pizza is reasonably priced and quite better than any I've found so far in the area. Ingredients are fresh and they don't try to pretend you're getting a great deal by giving you a dozen 2 inch wide slices.Next time you want a pizza, give this place a try, you won't regret it. They're on Uber Eats as Pizza Iolo.

The explosive panini was was wonderful. Sandwiches aren't usually my go-to meal but this was well balanced between meat, cheese, sauce...easy to eat and very easy to enjoy!
Service was great. The wait didn't feel long at all and panini was warm and fresh!
It was a very hot day today so the atmosphere could have been better, but I don't think Chez Wally controls the weather, yet! ;-)

“Today I stopped for dinner at Nickels and as soon as I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by a charming waitress who then assigned me a seat. It's off to a good start!
I was a little late for lunch, but otherwise the rest of the menu was available and varied. There are several choices of "smoke meat"... it reminds me of Deli Chenoy's in the past. A nice little moment of nostalgia.
Finally I ordered a Classic Cheeseburger plate. And honestly, it was very good, the meatball was huge, the ingredients fresh... The only little thing I would have added would have been a signature sauce, but they offer the classic condiments at the tables anyway.

A young girl served me and she had the most beautiful smile. She was warm and welcoming. I am a vegetarian so she gave me multiple options that weren’t even on the menu a brought me a beautiful filling spanakopita plate. I will definitely be back for the other vegetarian options that this restaurant had to offer !”
