“Do you know the benefits of gardening? It’s an activity that unites my parent and I, and on this cloudy Sunday we toured two nurseries in Laval to get our hands on some spring flowers. (Yes, this is a review of Kinton Ramen, but I'd like to talk about flowers and dirt first.) A New York Times article, citing recent and older studies, described the benefits of taking a clod of dirt in his hands due to the presence of beneficial bacteria found there. My dining companion forced the bill (unintentionally) by soaking even her sweater in potting soil while handling a few pots, making her less presentable for a big outing to the restaurant. A chain ramen restaurant — she loves ramen — where she could sit quietly without attracting attention seemed like an appropriate choice for the circumstances. So, we went to Kinton Ramen at Carrefour Laval with our car filled with a precious haul of magnificent perennials.Founded in 2012 in Toronto, the chain reaches fans of the famous Japanese noodles by offering them the opportunity to combine pork, beef, chicken or vegetables with their broth of their choice (original, miso, shoyu and spicy) in a seemingly warm setting. and harmonious. One of the waiters with long, tousled hair seemed to want to break a speed record with a speech rate of 5 words per second, giving me the impression that he perhaps perceived the world as a universe unfolding in slow motion.Overall, it was a nice, if uneventful, little ramen stop. For my tablemate, it brought back memories of road trips, stopping at similar fast food places.
