Oh man, did Sweet Lee's change owners? The old decor was really unique and rustic, but now it looks like they've completely gutted it out and replaced it with a very "vanilla" decor. I'm going to miss the old bakery; it used to have so much character. Now it looks more like a generic cafe.I still enjoyed their croissants and coffee nonetheless, but it looks like their selection shrunk too. It's unfortunate.

I was surprised on my last visit, we found a renewed and warm atmosphere. Larger space, bright. The quality of coffee and desserts is always perfect..

I hate to write this review because the old Sweet Lee's was amazing in every aspect and totally deserved 5 stars, it was one of my go-to places, but after the new renovations this place just looks sad and just like every other cafe. I was shocked that the food quality dropped a noticeable amount. The new layout also seems crammed and not very well thought out, it's a shame to see the rustic vibe completely washed out. Also worse food and bakery selection....although the service was decent but that doesn't make up for the other issues.Sady I will no longer recommend this place, but I might give it one more chance.

Amazing vegan options! I have tried their sandwiches and pastries and truly love them. I would recommend for a casual bite but also for birthday cakes.

Passing through a very busy Cabane Panache event in the middle of the afternoon. The Amandine was excellent as was the latte.?

Nice place, good food but terrible service... I went there twice and although I am always smiling and polite, I always received haughty and unpleasant service... very saddening attitudes of this

What used to be a charming, unique café has been renovated into a bland, boring space. None of the staff seemed to have a clue, so after milling around in front of the cash, because no one knew where to order or queue, for 10 minutes or so, we left.Their food still looked appetizing.

I am devastated by the recent renovations to Sweet Lee's. This cafe had lots of personality with its tin ceiling and vintage aesthetic. Now it is all white and harmless, identical to the other millions of modern cafes. What a loss for the neighborhood.

As of March 2024, absolutely heartbroken about what has happened to this place. For as long as they had been in Verdun, Sweet Lees was my go-to place in a neighborhood with tons of option for both coffee and baked goods. They were simply the best.I was crushed to find out when dropping by yesterday that it suddenly looked like a completely different business, now almost all seating and with the food counter a tiny fraction of the size it used to be, with their inventory naturally cut down just as drastically.Despite how upset I was about it, I still tried to give them a chance and check whether the quality of the food and drinks were still the same. Unfortunately, again, instead of being reassured I had to face the reality that I would have to completely grieve what Sweet Lees used to be.Matcha latté ordered to drink on the spot arrived at a tepid temperature already too barely over room temperature to be enjoyable to drink, let alone sit down and enjoy at a leisure pace. Considering how much they sacrificed to get more seating space, it's strange how this gave the message that they wanted me to hurry up drinking and just get out of there. Also ordered a little cup of maple syrup trifle. Custard was incredibly stodgy, which is sort of an issue when it is the main component of the dessert.I never though there would be a day I would leave a negative review about this place. To be fair, I also never thought that Sweet Lees would one day be run by people who'd decide they'd rather be a middling coffee shop with fancy furniture than a fantastic rustic bakery. If anyone needs me, I'll be busy mourning for a while.

It is so beautifully decorated and the treats are both delicious-looking and delicious! A must-visit.

Having previously been here a few months ago I have to say that there’s certainly been a lot of changes. For one the dining area is a lot more spacious, the staff seems to be more engaged with the clientèle (previously I went and there was a girl more focused on staring at her phone then helping out the customers as well as, a man in his thirties CLEARLY high, glad to see that isnt the case) While some of the decor is questionable the service more than makes up for it, not that the decor was any better, the previous owners seemed to have hidden behind the word rustic as excuse for having an outdated aesthetic. While nothing truly special visually my experience here has vastly improved since the last :)
