Answering machine says open, nothing about no sushi. When we get there, closed. A sign says takeout only, no sushi, or Chinese, only Korean.

Probably the best place for sushi in Newport Island. BUT people should come here for their Korean food which is authentic and their real speciality. A little pricey but very good and filling. The owners are awesome and super nice.

Had the Korean seafood gui and the seaweed salad. Plenty of noodles and the food was delicious. Definitely going here again.

Really good sushi and fast takeout. Not always open when they say they are online though.

Ordered a medium boat (sashimi, sushi, rolls) and I was not disappointed. Reasonable price as well.

We started and ended our family vacation here. Great, family owned restaurant. Very nice staff and EXCELLENT sushi! We had dinner there the first night and couldn't wait to go back!

Excellent Bento box. The chef takes prepares all the portions perfectly. Really, the only choice in area for good Korean food

Menu describes spider roll as having jumbo soft shellcrab, ours had surimi, sea legs, but charged us as if it was soft shell crab. Dynamite roll was anything but, bland and no flavor. We wondered why there were no cars or people there when we picked up our take out order.

I have been in Newport for the past 7 years and came here a few times but never bothered to order the sushi. My parents were in town and after a few days of lobster rolls, burgers and pizzas they needed some ethnic food. We initially went to Mizu but it was a jungle in there. Didn't make it past the hostess and decided to bolt and come to Seashai. The waitress sat us down quickly and we ordered some Sushi and a few Korean dishes. Also ordered some wine. The sushi was surprisingly good. Especially for the price. It's of course not like NYC Omakase level but for the price it really is surprisingly good. Everything was fresh. I think the only thing I didn't like was the ginger from the boat. And for those you that like to drink.... the alcohol prices are super duper reasonable. A bottle of white wine was $24. I saw cocktails on the menu for $7. Come here if you want some good food and good prices. The New Seashai is the place to be.

One of the hidden gems in the Newport area. It never ceases to satisfy with it wide variety of Asian foods and very friendly service. Great prices as well.

So, so good! And the lady who runs it was so nice.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. Best sushi ? & great MaiTais . The waitstaff was friendly and the service was out of this world! We asked them if they could come and open a restaurant in Manchester, NH? We will definitely be back the next time we are in town. Thank you so much for having us tonight (6.24.22)?

Great sushi and Korean food. Could not recommend this place higher.

Fresh sushi is hard to come by in RI. And I've been all over the state tasting sushi along the way. This place is hands down #1. Better than Jacky's in providence. Would recommend!!!

Hadn’t been to the new version of this restaurant but always liked the old one. They had availability Sat night which many places downtown Newport didn’t (due to Valentines) so figured we’d try it. We’ll… only three parties when we were there so understand the availability. We had new server (I think she said she’d been there three weeks)and she had little knowledge about menu. Didn’t know what sushi was brought, had to check what veggies were in dish, etc. clearly they need to train better! I felt bad for her but expected a bit more basic knowledge.Sushi was tasteless and watery. Definitely not great - more like supermarket sushi or even step down. Service was a bit slow - we think only one chef was on …. Won’t go back.
