Just like the donuts you would get at the apple pick or fair. Hot, dense, and delicious. We had a friend visit, and they made bread pudding with them! Plain, sugar, and cinnamon sugar. Why not try all three.Don't let the food trailer vibe fool you. These are worth the stop and only available for a limited summer season.
Fantastic donuts got there at the end of the day and bought all the donuts left and they were amazing. No pics because I'm an animal and devoured them luckily with some help but will definitely be back.

I remember when donuts were sacred. Even Dunkin' made them fresh several times a day. Paynes is one of the few places where they still take donuts seriously. It's worth the long trip to the island, and worth getting up early to get the donuts warm first thing in the morning. It's not a summer vacation without a dozen Paynes donuts.
