We discovered Provencal Bakery on a trip home from Newport. We had just had a disappointing meal in Newport and wanted to end the day on a good note. We searched for bakeries that were open on the route home. It was on a Sunday and they close in the early afternoon. We just made it before closing. They are located in a small strip mall. We tried chocolate mousse, key lime pie, chocolate and white cupcakes along with caramel cake. They were all great. I stopped by their bakery where they only made bread and they sent me here. The bread smelled outstanding there. They have soups and stews which I didn’t try but they looked great and if their baked goods are any indication, I would try them. Stopped here for lunch after a Salve lax game @ Gaudet field. Food is homemade, fresh and delivered w generous portions. Warm customer service. Breakfast, lunch, take away and bakery. Sit down, counter or take out. I had homemade chicken rice soup, crusty melty panini, and a top notch, authentic tiramisu; all bursting with flavor. Delicious coffees for the road. Highly recommend and will come again.
