“A home run. My wife and I ate at the bar and the bartender was outstanding. We had a question regarding the use of garlic in a certain dish and although she was pretty certain she went to the kitchen to confirm. Service was wonderful as was the food and ambiance.“
“Great food…the scallop chowder was fab as were the lobster fritters…hands down Mike our waiter was perfect…great suggestions, (he suggested other restaurants in the area owned by the same company) great service…nice, knowledgeable and a great server…we came back a second night and requested to sit in his section…that is how good he is…Mike the manager is delightful as well…all the staff have great memories and were quick to welcome us back…ps Lauren the trainee was spot on as well!“
“Had the 2-course lunch special for $22 and everything was delicious. The lobster roll was served hot or cold, pictured is the hot roll with a nice garlic flavor on the bread. Steak in the sandwich was tender and not fatty and the fries are perfect. Service was timely, and serves was informative. Highly recommend trying them out.“
“came here for lunch because I wanted some nachos and fish tacos. this was the perfect spot. the place seems busy all the time, but service is friendly and they are hustling to get you seated and served quickly. we had some nachos and tacos, beer and churros. the fish tacos and catch of the day tacos were great. nacho plate was the bomb. they had plenty of different hot sauces. I will definitely return if ever in the area again.“
“The best noodle bowl restaurant in R.I. according to my “expert” opinion ? Not fancy but low key, & delicious with plenty to take home! Waitress “Ireland” was very busy up front but made sure to check in on us! Definitely worth the visit if you are ever in Newport,R.I.“
“Stopped here for lunch after a Salve lax game @ Gaudet field. Food is homemade, fresh and delivered w generous portions. Warm customer service. Breakfast, lunch, take away and bakery. Sit down, counter or take out. I had homemade chicken rice soup, crusty melty panini, and a top notch, authentic tiramisu; all bursting with flavor. Delicious coffees for the road. Highly recommend and will come again.“
“Lunch at the drift Cafe was followed by cravings of dessert and just on the opposite side was Cupcake Charlie's, so it was an easy choice. They had lots of flavors for cupcakes - chocolate, oreo, vanilla, chocolate raspberry, lemon, hostess, etc and as few other items such as cake pops, trifles, and shakes. We got three things to share - a double chocolate cupcake, a lemon cupcake, and a raspberry chocolate trifle. There weren't many seats but we managed to grab a small table with a couple of chairs. We ate the chocolate cupcake right there and it was great. Chocolatey as expected, unexpected chocolate bonus in the center too. Could've been a little less sweet but wasn't over the top either. Even though it was a hot day, the remaining desserts held up on the ride home. We ate the lemon cupcake later that night and the raspberry trifle the next day. The trifle was a little too "jammy" but that lemon cupcake was perfect! Tart and sweet and so good.“
“Great place to eat,We are visiting the United States and not being used to the customs we did not understand that we had to write the amount of the tip on the bill.Yet we really wanted to leave some! The waiter was super friendly and helpful, we caught up and left him the tip in a note on the table. He didn't chase us like some servers would have done, some people should take note!“
“Excellent selection of cheeses, meats, spreads, and assorted accoutrement. Staff was very friendly. You can sample before buying. I got to see many new types of cheeses I have never seen before. Luckily, we are just visiting family for the weekend or else being this close could get dangerous!! 10/10 would recommend“
“Beautiful bakery and cafe with excellent food. The side salad with the breakfast sandwiches is a nice touch. Limited indoor seating by outdoor seating on wrap around porch and at fire pits is charming. Glad we tired this. We'll be back.“
“I've only ever had their omelettes, home fries and rye toast. I keep wanting to try other things on their menu but their breakfast is so fantastic I keep ordering the same thing! What a great home town diner experience. Good comfort food and great atmosphere with friendly workers. Can't wait to go back!“
“I liked the pizza at Martino's. It had good crust with good texture. I would not call it thin crust, but a good example of what you might get in Rhode Island and better than most. I just wish they had fresh garlic, but that's a personal issue for me. The owner is local and enjoyable to talk to.“
“We stayed in Warrick Village for 3 nights and ate here twice! It was that good. The first time, we had a calzone and a chicken parm grinder. Crispy crust, and you pick what you want in it. The grinder was great. Chicken fried crispy and toasty bread. The next time was another calzone, ham and onion pizza, and mozzarella sticks. I think it's the best pizza I ever had. The crust was crispy on the bottom but still soft on inside. I don't like a lot of red sauce and this was perfect. Just a touch.“
“This is the type of restaurant I really enjoy. The food is very simple and good. Some call this a greasy spoon but I lovingly call this a hole in a wall. The people were great and service was awesome. What more can you ask out of a restaurant.“
“Glad we popped over here from Newport. The French toast and breakfast sandwich were delicious. The pastry selection was huge, though we didn’t partake. The line was long, but they were taking orders as fast as the could. This is an order at the bar style cafe. The food came out fast. Nice little outdoor area as well. Popular with both the locals and tourists.“
“I liked the variety of juices and other organic goods. The electrolyte juice was my favorite, and I loved the chocolate nut milk. Everything is made of simple organic ingredients which is great! Only downside is all the drinks go bad within 3 days, which is tough if you don't live close.“
“Wonderful baked goods. The Asiago bagels, croissants, and fruit scones are my personal favorites, but there's lots of choice. Avocado toast is a real treat. Great breakfast and lunch sandwich selection. Excellent coffees. Plenty of indoor and outdoor (in season) seating, except perhaps during morning rush on a sunny summer weekend morning. Very charming atmosphere.“
“When I worked in Newport, this was my go-to spot for a latte in the morning with a muffin or bagel. If there was time, I would sit in the cafe to enjoy my food and latte surrounded by a clean and warm atmosphere.Outside of my normal order, Anna D's also offers a variety of desserts and breakfast options with lunch choices too. On a rare lunch out, I ordered a delicious ragin cajun panini that was cooked well and tasted great! You can also grab an ice cream during the regular season when its side building opens to serve delicious sweets of sundaes, frozen yogurt, and more.In addition, parking is available and easy to access, and Anna D's has a friendly and hardworking staff. This is a definite must stop in Portsmouth!“
“Came here for a quick Sunday morning stop while on vacation. There is a small parking lot in the back with a few spaces out front. Very intimate atmosphere, feels like going to a family member's house with the overall homely vibe. The employees were very nice and helpful. It was also good to see them interacting with other customers in a way you can tell they had longstanding relationships with them. I try to support small businesses and was pretty happy with the service. We ordered the eclairs and some macarons. The macarons particularly were tasty (earl grey and pistachio) although they seemed a bit overbaked; they tasted perfect. So moist inside. Unfortunately we did not like the iced coffee. It tasted very inoffensive and like generic store coffee, although it wasn't expensive.I did notice lots of signs inside promoting French culture and community, which was good. I would come here again for the baked goods alone - would like to try more macarons!“
“Went out with some work friends to this cool pub in downtown newport. I would recommend a reservation as this was a Wednesday night and the place was still packed. The staff were receptive and provided excellent service. I never found myself waiting for a fresh drink. The food was suprisingly delicious which is something i dont normally expect from a large and varied menu. The pricing is about normal for the area, so if tourist area prices are not for you it may not be the best option. I will be recommending Brick Alley to friends. And the only reason i will not give 5 stars is i try to reserve that rating for very special exceptions.“
