The Lobster Bar Reviews
We hosted a surprise engagement dinner here yesterday with a reservation for over 20 guests, made well in advance by sister’s fiancé. This was a once in a lifetime event, and the management at Lobster Bar completely soured what should’ve been a joyful night for us.
From the moment we arrived, we were met with hostility. We were literally still congratulating the newly engaged couple when the manager Jen came over within minutes to tell us all we needed to move over...read full review
Several plates were sent back. Under or WAY too salty! A drink was dumped on my 6 year old niece by a staff member. But our waitress was extremely nice. Won’t be going back.
The Rhody Bloody Mary wasn’t drinkable. After delivering our food, we never saw our server again until we flagged her down for the check. Too many good choices in Newport to ever eat here again.

The Lobster Bar offers a pleasant atmosphere with a scenic waterfront view. The service is highly praised, with staff being attentive, friendly, and efficient, ensuring drinks are refreshed and meals come out quickly. Many visitors enjoy the quality of the food, especially the lobster, which is fresh and served in generous portions. The hot lobster roll is a popular choice, packed with lobster, and pairs well with the house Chardonnay and Berry Lemosa drinks. The restaurant also features a variety of appetizers and dish options, making it a good spot for different tastes. Customers appreciate the reasonable prices, typically around $35-$40 per person for a good portion of lobster. While some dishes like clams and steamers are not as impressive, the overall experience centers on excellent service, good food, and a beautiful view. It’s recommended for those looking for a nice place to enjoy a drink and a meal with friends or family. The relaxed setting, friendly service, and waterfront scenery make it an ideal spot for large groups or casual dining. The menu offers options like clam chowder, fish and chips, and tuna poke, with lobster roll served cold. The atmosphere is fun and laid-back, with plenty of seating and TVs to catch a game.
