Dolce & Salato, a new restaurant by local chef Armando Bisceglia, offered a pop-up experience during the Splendor of Florence's Sott'Acqua Festival in November 2024. Housed in the old Tilden-Thurber Building on Westminster Street, the restaurant featured rustic and elegant décor, reminiscent of Florence, and a special wine window that added to the old-world charm.
Diners can expect an authentic Tuscan menu, which includes dishes such as gnocchi al tartufo and ossobuco di maiale, both of which received positive reviews for their taste and quality. The gnocchi was described as being in a creamy sauce with pieces of truffle, while the ossobuco was a tender pork shank with various vegetables. The classic tiramisu dessert was also praised for its light and well-balanced flavors.
In addition to the dinner service, Dolce & Salato also offers breakfast, where guests can enjoy freshly prepared dishes such as breakfast pizza and leek and potato croissants. The restaurant is known for its excellent coffee, friendly staff, and accommodating service towards diners with allergies.
Overall, Dolce & Salato offers a great dining experience with delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and attentive service, making it a place that diners would want to visit regularly.
